USER MANUAL PO 2790 CLATRONIC

General Safety Instructions Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.

  • The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fi t for commer- cial use. Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
  • When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
  • Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the device off. Remove the plug from the socket.
  • The device and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the device must not be used.
  • Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualifi ed person and with a cable of the same type.

WARNING: DANGER OF BURNS!

During operation the temperature of the exposed surface may be very hot. You should therefore only touch the machine by the buttons and handles provided. Use an oven cloth if necessary.

  • Please ensure that the mains lead does not come into contact with the hot sections of the device.
  • The oven gives off heat. You should therefore not place it close to combustible materials such as curtains or wood. The clearance above the oven should be at least 50 cm and at least 20 cm at the sides.
  • Put the unit down onto a heat-resistant mat.
  • Ensure that the timer is in the „OFF“ position when you are not using the unit.
  • Please do not operate the device with an external timer or a separate remote control system.
  • Do not carry or lift the appliance during use. Always switch it off fi rst and pull out the plug. Carry the appliance always with both hands! CAUTION: Before initial use please operate the oven for 15 minutes to remove the protective coating on the heating element. Set the temperature control to 250 °C. NOTE: Any smoke or smells produced during this procedure are normal. Please ensure suffi cient ventilation. How to use

1. The timer must be switched to the OFF position.

2. Connect the device to a duly installed 230 V/50 Hz protec-

tive contact socket.

3. Open the door and place the food to be cooked in the oven.

For meat or pizzas please use the pizza tin. The grill is suitable for preparing toast If you would like to use other ta- bleware, please ensure that this is suffi ciently heat-resistant.

4. Close the oven door.

5. Set the required heating with the upper knob (top or bottom

heating or both together).

6. Use the lower knob (timer) to set the desired cooking time.

Please see the table in these instructions for reference values.

7. After the set time has expired, the machine automatically

switches off and a short ringing is heard. The control lamp goes off. The timer can continue for a short time (ticking sounds).

8. If you would like to terminate the heating process prema-

turely, simply turn the button of the timer to the left to the OFF position.

9. If the cooking time is to be set to less than three minutes,

please fi rst set the timer to approximately 10 minutes and then to 3 minutes, for example.

10. In the case of short cooking times (under 5 minutes) it is

recommended that the oven is preheated briefl y (approxi- mately 3 minutes) without food.

11. When the oven is switched off, you can open the door again

and take out the food (Warning - this is hot!). For your safety you should use a cloth or similar object. How to clean

  • Pull the plug out of the socket.
  • ONLY clean or put away the unit when it has cooled down. DANGER OF BURNS!
  • Under no circumstances should the device be immersed in water for cleaning. CAUTION:
  • Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects.
  • Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents. Crumbs or similar residues on the fl oor of the device fall into the crumb drawer. Empty the drawer regularly. In order to do so, pull it all the way out. After emptying the drawer please reinsert it correctly into the guide mechanism. Interior
  • Keep the interior of the oven clean. Splashes and food resi- dues on the oven walls can be removed with a damp cloth. If the oven is very dirty a mild detergent can also be used. Please do not use any abrasive detergents. Do not wipe the heating elements.
  • Wipe the viewing window off on the inside and outside with a damp cloth and remove any splashes and food residues regularly. External Walls
  • The external walls of the microwave should only be cleaned with a damp cloth. Please ensure that no water enters the openings in the housing and therefore inside the device.
