- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not t for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appli- ance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
- When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
- Do not operate the machine without supervi- sion. If you leave the room you should always turn the device off. Remove the plug from the socket.
- The device and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If dam- age is found the device must not be used.
- Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have faulty cable be replaced only by the manufac- turer, by our customer service or by qualied person and with a cable of the same type.
- Use only original spare parts.

- This device is not intended to be used by indi- viduals (including children) who have restricted physical, sensory or mental abilities and/or insufcient knowledge and/or experience, un- less they are supervised by an individual who is responsible for their safety or have received instructions on how to use the device.36

WARNING: Hot surface!
Danger of burns! During operation the temperature of accessible surfaces can be very high. Only take hold of the appliance at the thermostat and handles.

It is intended for the use in private households and similar applications. The appliance is only to be used as described in the user manual. Do not use the appliance for any other purpose. Any other use is not intended and can result in damages or personal injuries. The manufacturer assumes no liability for dam- ages caused by improper use. - Remove the appliance from its packaging.
- Remove all packaging materials such as lms, ller material, cable clips and carton.
- Check the contents for completeness. NOTE: Production residue or dust may have collected on the appliance. We recommend cleaning the appliance according to chapter “Cleaning”. Instructions CAUTION: avoid damaging the CERAN
- Do not use pointed objects (e.g. knife, fork) on the grill surface.
- Do not use plastic utensils. They can melt.
- Do not place or slide pots or containers on the CERAN
surface. This can result in scratches.
- Avoid during grilling ingredients such as su- gar, syrup, milk, bananas, tomato ketchup or other BBQ sauces. They can burn in and are difcult to remove. TIP: Remove immediately with a spatula if one of the abovementioned ingredients sticks to the grill surface. Do not wait for the appliance to cool down.37
- Grill your foodstuffs directly on the CERAN
- If you want to use oil ensure that it is highly heatable, such as sunower oil. Do not use olive oil or butter, since they start smoking already at low temperatures.
- Prepare your food in any desired sequence. Remove food residues to avoid transferring its taste to the next food. Move the food residues carefully with a spatula into the fat collection tray. On/Off
- Operate the appliance via the thermostat (4).
- Left of the thermostat is a marking (5) showing the current thermostat setting.
- Setting the arrow to the marking position switches the appliance off (see illustration). Electric Connection
1. Ensure that your mains power corresponds
with the specications of the appliance. The specications are printed on the type label.
2. Ensure that the appliance is switched off.
3. Connect the mains cable to a properly installed
and earthed 230 V~, 50 Hz wall outlet. Operation
1. Attach the fat collecting tray (1) at the rear of
your tabletop grill.
2. Turn the thermostat clockwise to the desired
setting. Observe the following table. Setting Application LO Warming 2 Warming 3 Cooking 4 Simmering 5 Searing 6 Grilling HI Grilling NOTE: The indicator lamp (3) lights up when the appliance is heating up. It turns on and off during operation. This is normal and shows that the temperature is thermostat-controlled and maintained.
3. Prepare your foodstuffs like on any other grill.
1. Turn the thermostat to switch the appliance off.
2. Disconnect from mains power supply.
3. Clean the appliance immediately after every

- Remove food residues with a spatula as long as the appliance is still warm.
- If food residues have dried and hardened:
1. Wet the surface with a sponge.
2. Heat up the tabletop grill for a few minutes
3. Remove the food residues into the fat col-
lecting tray as described before.
4. Turn the thermostat to switch the appliance

- Cleaning agents for CERAN
surfaces can be purchased in your supermarket or department store. Fat Collecting Tray
- Remove the fat collecting tray from the appli- ance. Dispose of the contents.
- Clean the fat collecting tray in warm sudsy water.
- Attach the fat collecting tray again at the table- top grill after it is thoroughly dry. Casing
- Clean the casing after use with a slightly damp cloth. Storage
- Only store the appliance clean and after it has cooled down.
- During longer periods of non-use we recom- mend storing the appliance in its original packaging.
- Always store the appliance in a well-ventilated and dry place out of reach of children. CAUTION: Risk of breakage! Please remember that the CERAN
surface can be damaged by heavy or falling objects. Troubleshooting The appliance does not work Possible cause: The appliance is not connected to mains power. Remedy:
- Check the wall outlet with a different appliance.
- Insert the plug properly in the wall outlet.
- Check the fuse. Possible cause: The appliance is defective. Remedy:
