Warnings for the Use of the Appliance

WARNING:
- Oils and fats can ignite if overheated. Caution is advised! Do not forget to switch off the appliance after use! First turn the temperature control knob to the lowest setting and then pull the mains plug out of the socket.
- Keep a safe distance from easily flammable objects such as furniture, curtains, etc.
- Do not move or carry the hot appliance while it is in operation! Risk of burns!
Avoid Damaging the Non-Stick Coated Grill Surfaces!

CAUTION:
- Only use spatulas or turners made of wood or Teflon.
- Do not work with sharp objects (e.g. knife, fork) on the grill surface.
- Do not use utensils made of plastic. They can melt.
Notes for Use
- The non-stick grill surfaces allow you to prepare food without grease.
- If you want to use oil, you should use an oil that can be heated to a high temperature, such as sunflower oil. Do not use olive oil, butter or margarine, as these fats develop smoke even at low temperatures.
- Do not use frozen food. Defrost them beforehand.
• Dab wet food dry with a cloth.
Electrical Connection
- Make sure that the temperature control knob is set to the MIN position.
- Check that the mains voltage matches that of the appliance. You will find the relevant information on the type plate on the underside of the appliance.
- Only connect the appliance to a properly installed earthed socket.
- Make sure that the cable is laid in such a way that nobody can pull on it or trip over it.
Switching the Appliance On/Off
- The appliance is operated using the temperature control knob with infinitely variable setting.
- The appliance is switched off when the temperature control knob is in the MIN position.
- The lighting around the temperature control knob indicates the active heating mode. It switches on and off during operation. This is normal and indicates that the temperature is being regulated and maintained. The light goes out when the selected temperature is reached.
Before First Use
There is a protective layer on the heating element which burns when the appliance heats up. As a result, there may be a slight development of smoke and odour when using the appliance, but these will subside after a few uses. This is not a defect.
- You can minimise the smoke development by wiping the heating element with a slightly damp cloth before using it for the first time.
- Do not use any cleaning agents!
- Wipe with a dry cloth.
-
Only switch on the appliance when it is completely dry.
• Always ensure sufficient ventilation. -
Lightly grease the pans and the griddle.
-
Place the grill plate on the rack and place the pans on the shelf.
-
Operate the appliance for about 10 minutes without grilling food so that the protective layers can remove. To do this, set the temperature control knob to the MAX position.
-
After the time has elapsed, set the temperature control knob to the MIN position. Unplug the appliance from the mains.
-
Let the appliance cool down completely.
-
Clean again all parts that will come into contact with food.
Your appliance is now ready for use.
Using the Appliance
Location
Place the appliance on a level, moisture- and heat-resistant surface. The location must be stable and non-slip. The surface should be easy to clean, as splashes are unavoidable. For sensitive surfaces, place a heat-resistant plate underneath.
Montage
The grill plate can be used on both sides.
- The smooth surface is particularly suitable for frying, as it offers the largest possible contact surface with the food.
-
The ribbed surface is suitable for grilling. It can be used to give the food a grill pattern. The ribbing also reduces the fat content during cooking.
-
Place the grill plate on the appliance so that it has a firm hold.
-
Place the pans underneath.
Temperature Control Knob
Set the temperature control knob according to the intended use:
• MAX position: for grilling or roasting.
- Small or medium position: for keeping warm or cooking.
When the heating phase is complete, the control lamp goes out.
Tips for the Raclette Evening
- Cut all the ingredients into small pieces or slices.
- Allow the appliance to preheat for about 10 minutes.
- Do not place any empty pans in the appliance during operation.
- Place food of your choice on the griddle.
- You can bake mushrooms or small sandwiches with cheese in the pans.
-
Do not overfill the pans.
-
Make sure that the ingredients in the pans do not come into contact with the heating element.
- Remove coarse food residues from the griddle and the pans now and then so that they do not burn.
End Operation
- Set the temperature control knob to the MIN position.
- Disconnect the mains plug from the socket.
- Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning it.
