3. Before you start the device
Remove all packaging materials and transport protection from the unit. To ensure that the unit operates safely and without faults, the installation area must meet the following requirements: The floor must be firm, flat and level. Minimum clearance distances of 50 cm to the side, 100 cm to the top, 50 cm to the rear and 50 cm to the front of the case must be maintained. Do not place the unit in a hot, wet or very humid environment or near combustible materials. The power socket must be easily accessible so that the mains connection cable can be easily disconnected if necessary. Temperature range: 0 to +40 °C Humidity (no condensation): 5–75 % Please note: A slight odour may develop for a short time during initial use.
Place the unit on a stable table on its rear side. The lower edge of the case should protrude slightly over the edge of the table. Place a support stand
on the edge of the bottom of the case. The two holes in the case fit exactly on the holes in the support stand
Screw the support stand
in with 2 of the screws
provided and hand-tighten. Do not overtighten the screws
Repeat the procedure with the second support stand
Make sure that the support stands
are level and firmly attached to the case. Place the unit upright on its stands
Connect the unit to an earthed socket protected by a residual current circuit breaker. Now, set the toggle switch
with your desired heating level to the “On” position.
Please note: The indicator light
of the respec- tive toggle switch
used will turn on dur- ing operation. To set the maximum power of 2000 W, set both toggle switches
to the “On” position.
Please note: The convector
only heats when the tempera- ture control
has been turned clockwise until an audible click is heard.GB/IE/NI/CY/MT
used will turn on during oper- ation. The indicator lights
only go out when the temperature control
is in the "MIN" position.
4.2 Setting the temperature controller
Start the unit by setting the desired heat level using the toggle switches
clockwise as far as it will go.
When the desired temperature has been reached, turn the temperature control knob
back counterclockwise until you hear a clear click. The indicator light(s)
will go out. An integrated mechanical thermostat now auto- matically switches the heating function and the indicator lamp/s on/off.
4.3 Switch off device
Set both toggle switches
to the "OFF" position. The indicator lights
on the toggle switches
will turn off. Set the temperature controller's
stepless rotary switch to the “MIN” position. Pull the power plug out of the socket. Wait until the unit has cooled down before covering it or storing it.
4.4 Overheat protection
This device is equipped with an overheating pro- tection If the device is too hot, the heating element switches off automatically. Switch off the unit by setting the toggle switches
to the “OFF” position and the rotary switch
to the “MIN” position. Pull the power plug out of the socket. Wait until the device has cooled down - at least 10 minutes. Check the air inlet and air outlet holes. Eliminate the cause of the overheating before you restart the device. CAUTION! Usually the device never gets overheated without cause! If it gets too hot, there is a danger of fire! Check whether the device is able to give off the heat properly: Is the device covered with anyt- hing? Or, perhaps, it is too close to a wall or other obstacle? Check whether the grids on the front or rear side are free of dirt and not cove- red. Is the fan blocked? If possible, eliminate the cause of the problem or contact the service hotline (see chapter "Service").
