Frequently Asked Questions - TropiCool TC 07 DOMETIC

How to connect the TropiCool TC 07 cooler?
You can connect it in two ways: 1) to 230 V mains using the supplied adapter, 2) to the vehicle's 12 V cigarette lighter with the included cable. Set the switch to the desired position (HOT or COLD) to start.
What is the capacity of the cooler?
The interior volume is 7 liters, ideal for a few cans, bottles or food.
Can the cooler be used to heat food?
Yes, the TropiCool TC 07 model has a heating mode. Set the switch to HEISS/HOT. The interior temperature can reach about 65 °C.
Why is the fan not spinning?
If the external fan does not spin while the device is on, check: 1) the power supply (vehicle ignition or mains socket), 2) the fuses (5 A fuse on cable and 15 A cigarette lighter fuse). If the problem persists, contact customer service.
How to clean the cooler?
Always disconnect the device before cleaning. Use a damp cloth for the interior and exterior. Do not use abrasive products or hard objects. Never immerse the cooler in water.
What is the power consumption?
The power consumption is 36 W at 12 V and 40 W at 230 V with the adapter.
Can I leave the cooler permanently connected in the car?
Yes, as long as the ignition is on (on most vehicles). Make sure the battery does not discharge too much. Disconnect it before recharging the battery with a fast charger.
What to do if the cooler does not cool sufficiently?
Make sure the ventilation slots are not blocked. Check that the internal fan is spinning (visible inside). If so, the Peltier element may be defective; contact an authorized service.
Can I transport medicines in this cooler?
Yes, but check if the refrigeration temperature (about 5 °C) matches the storage recommendations of the medication.
How to change the fuse of the cigarette lighter cable?
The fuse is located in the cable plug. Open the fuse holder (often with a small screwdriver) and replace the blown fuse with an identical 5 A fuse.

What type of power cable is needed for the Dometic TropiCool TC 07 portable refrigerator?
Frequently Asked Questions - 22/04/2026
Response Notice-Facile

The portable refrigerator Dometic TropiCool TC 07 comes with two power cables: a 12V car cigarette lighter cable and a 230V mains adapter. Therefore, you generally do not need to purchase an additional cable unless it is damaged.

For use in a car (12V DC): The power cable connects directly to the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket (standard 12V male connector). This cable is equipped with a 5 amp safety fuse that protects the device. The power consumption is 36 watts at 12V. Ensure that your car's cigarette lighter socket can support this power (usually 10 to 15 amp fuses depending on the vehicle).

For use on mains (230V AC): The supplied mains adapter plugs into a standard 230V wall socket and converts the alternating current to 12V direct current to power the refrigerator. The consumption at this voltage is 40 watts.

If your 12V power cable is damaged, you must replace it immediately to avoid any electrical hazard. Obtain a 12V power cable with a compatible Dometic cigarette lighter connector or a suitable universal model, ensuring to respect the correct polarity (positive in the center). If in doubt, contact Dometic customer service directly for an approved replacement cable.
