Start-up of the device/Introduction

  • Choose a suitable location for the device. Suitable would be a dry, level, non-slip surface.
  • Sensitive surfaces such as the display are possibly protected with foil. Remove these foils.

Power supply

  • Pay attention to the mains voltage! The type plate lists the correct voltage for your device.
  • Insert the plug into a properly installed power socket.
  • If the device is not used for a longer period of time, the mains plug must be pulled from the power socket.

Inserting the power reserve battery

(not supplied)

If there is a power cut or the mains plug has been removed from the power socket, the settings will be retained if the power reserve batteries are inserted.

  1. Open the battery compartment on the underside.
  2. Connect a 9V, E compound battery to the supply connection. Please ensure the correct polarity.
  3. Close the battery compartment again.

CAUTION:

  • Do not expose the batteries to high temperatures or direct sunlight. Never throw batteries into the fire. There is a danger of explosion!
  • Batteries may leak and lose battery acid. If the device is out of use for long periods, remove the battery.
    Non-rechargeable batteries may not be charged.
  • Chargeable batteries may only be charged under adult supervision.
    Chargeable batteries must be removed from the toy before they are charged.
  • Batteries must be inserted with the correct polarity.
    Spent batteries must be removed from the toy.

  • Batteries are not to be disposed of together with domestic wastes. Dispose of the used batteries at the relevant collection bin or at your dealer's.
    The terminals may not be short-circuited.

Switching the device on/off

Switching on: Press the ON/OFF / AM/FM button.

Switching off: Press the ON/OFF / AM/FM button for approx. 3 seconds.

Time

Setting the time (in time mode)

  1. If the time display does not flash, hold down the SET/PRE/M+ button for approx. 2 seconds. The time display starts to flash.
  2. Set the time with the HOUR/TU- and the MIN/TU+ button.
  3. Confirm the setting with the SET/PRE/M+ button.

NOTE:

If you do not press any button within 3 seconds, the settings are adopted automatically.

Listening to the radio

Scanning stations

  1. Press the ON/OFF / AM/FM button to switch on the radio.
  2. Select the required frequency band by repeatedly pressing the ON/OFF / AM/FM button. A dot lights up on the display next to FM (frequency modulation) or AM (medium wave).
  3. Control the volume with the AL2/VOL+ or the AL1/VOL- button.
  4. If you press the MIN/TU+ or the HOUR/TU- button briefly, the device will scan to the next radio station.

NOTE:

If there is interference on the received station, try to improve the reception by changing the position and by unwinding or winding the antenna.

Presetting radio stations

  1. Search for a station as described in "Scanning stations".

  2. Press the SET/PRE/M+ button. The pre-set location will be displayed. Select the preset location with the MIN/TU+ or the HOUR/TU- button.

  3. Press the SET/PRE/M+ button to store the station.

Recalling preset radio stations

While in radio operation, repeatedly press the SET/PRE/M+ button. One pre-set location after the other will be called up.

Alarm function

General information

  • You may now set the alarm times in time mode.
  • You'd like to be woken up by radio? Set the correct volume and the station ahead of time.
  • When the alarm time is reached, a dot flashes next to AL1 BUZZER or AL1 RADIO or AL2 BUZZER or AL2 RADIO.

Setting the Alarm Time

  1. First select how you want to be woken:

  2. Press the AL1/VOL- button once to be woken by the buzzer. The dot next to the alarm time text "AL1 BUZZER" flashes.

  3. Press the AL1/VOL- button again to be woken up by the last set radio station. The dot next to the alarm time text "AL1 RADIO" flashes.
  4. If you press the button again, the dot on the display goes out and the alarm function is deactivated.

  5. Set the alarm time with the HOUR/TU- and the MIN/TU+ button.

  6. Confirm your input with the AL1VOL- button.

NOTE:

If you don't press any button within about 3 seconds, the settings are adopted automatically.

To set the second alarm time, repeat the above steps each with the AL2VOL- button.

Shutting off of the alarm signal

To switch off the alarm signal until the following day, press the ON/OFF / AM/FM button.

Activating/deactivating the alarm time

In Time mode, repeatedly press the AL1/VOL- or the AL2/VOL+ button, until the dot on the display next to the alarm time text goes out.

Snoopze function (SNOOZE)

The automatically set alarm signal can be shut off for approx. 9 minutes with the SNOOZE/SLEEP button. The dot next to the alarm time text flashes on the display.

Delayed shut-off

Would you like to fall asleep with radio music?

  1. Switch the radio on and press the SNOOZE/SLEEP button. 90 (minutes) appears on the display.

  2. Press the SNOOZE/SLEEP button repeatedly to reduce the time in steps of 10.

  3. The OFF setting will deactivate the function.

  4. To display the still remaining time, briefly press the SNOOZE/SLEEP button. For technical reasons, the activated function cannot be shown permanently on the display.

Cleaning

CAUTION:

  • Do not dip the appliance in water.
  • Do not use a wire brush or other abrasive objects.
  • Do not use any caustic or abrasive cleaning agents.

  • Remove the plug before cleaning.

  • Clean the appliance with a slightly humid cloth without any additives.
