Before Using the Machine / Introduction

Insertion of Batteries (not supplied)

  • Open the lid of the battery compartment on the back of the machine.
  • Insert 2 batteries of the type 1.5 V R03 or AAA. Please ensure that the polarity is correct (see bottom of the battery compartment).
  • If the machine is not going to be used for a long time, the batteries should be removed in order to prevent leakage.
  • Different battery types or new and used batteries must not be used together.
  • Then close the battery lid.

CAUTION:

Batteries are not to be disposed of together with domestic wastes. Dispose of the used batteries at the relevant collection bin or at your dealer's.

WARNING:

Do not expose the batteries to high temperatures or direct sunlight. Never throw batteries into the fi re. There is a danger of explosion!

Setting the Time (Standby)

Hours: Press the SET key (11) and the HOUR key (10) simultaneously.

Minutes: Press the SET key (11) and the MINUTE key (9) simultaneously.

The radio has a 12-hour display. „PM“ indicates the hours after 12 noon.

Headphone Socket (2)

Please use headphones with a 3.5 mm stereo jack plug; these should be inserted into the socket.

Listening to the Radio

  1. Turn the volume regulator (4) until the frequency display appears.
  2. Press the SCAN button (7) repeatedly to set a radio station.
  3. When the end of the frequency band is reached the scanning process stops.

If you would like to start scanning again from the beginning of the frequency band, press the RESET button (8).

  1. The volume is set with the volume regulator (4).

If you have connected the device to the loudspeaker, pull the telescopic antenna out to improve reception.

Switching Off the Machine

Turn the function selector switch (VOLUME) to the „OFF“ position. The time display appears.

Cleaning

  • Clean the device only with a soft, dry cloth.
  • If it is necessary to clean the device with a damp cloth, please use one that is slightly down but not wet.
  • Use a commercially available detergent or mild soap to clean!
  • Do not use abrasive detergents! These can damage the casing!
  • Make sure that no humidity or water penetrates in the device!
    • Dry well with a dry, soft cloth!
