DE-SCALING THE POUR OVER COFFEE MACHINE

– To guarantee that the pour over coffee machine works correctly, you have to ensure that the machine is kept free of lime-scale. The optimum cycle is dependent on the hardness of the water which is different from country to country. We would advise de-scaling the machine after every 100 uses. Important: If you do not de-scale the pour over coffee machine then this can lead to damage! – If over scaling switches the appliance off automatically the ON/OFF switch (15) will illuminate red. You then must de-scale the pour over coffee machine immediately because the machine will no longer operate. – Regular de-scaling can increase the service life of the product and guarantees its faultless functionality. Furthermore, regular de-scaling will result in less steam forming, faster brewing times and energy savings. – Deposits should be removed with a commercially available de-scaling solu- tion for coffee machines or with a solution of vinegar and water (20% vine- gar and 80% water). When using commercially available de-scaling solutions ensure that these are suitable for use with heating elements made of copper as well as silicone materials. (Carefully check the specifications and dosage instructions of the manufacturer). – Fill the water tank (2) with de-scaling solution or a vinegar and water solu- tion (do not fill above the MAX line) and place the coffee shower (11), filter holder (6), coffee filter (7) (without ground coffee) and the thermos jug (8) with the dosage lid (9/10) into their intended positions in the appliance. – Then rinse the separate parts thoroughly with cold water and rinse the appli- ance by running through with cold, clear water at least twice. Prior to doing so ensure that all of the separate parts have been correctly reassembled in the pour over coffee machine. – Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service facility.8 BIstro cLeAnInG tHe coffee sHoWer The coffee shower (11) can be cleaned and de-scaled separately. In order to do so remove the housing lid (5) from the housing (1) of the pour over coffee machine. Then lift the coffee shower (11) carefully vertically, up and out of the pour over coffee machine. Now remove the large stopper (12) and small stopper (13) by pulling these slowly out of the coffee shower. Clean all parts thoroughly with de-scaling solution. Subsequently rinse all parts thoroughly with clear water before putting the coffee shower carefully back together. Ensure that the large stopper and small stopper are correctly seated and firmly in place. Now place the coffee shower back in the pour over coffee machine and carefully replace the housing lid. CAUTION: When cleaning the coffee shower do not use hard brushes or point- ed or sharp objects because these may scratch or damage the silicone surface. IMPORTANT: The warranty is voided if no de-scaling is carried out or this is not carried out in accordance with the operating instructions. storAGe Always disconnect the pour over coffee machine from the mains when it is not in use. tecHnIcAL DAtA EURO mains voltage 220 - 240 V~ 50/60 Hz USA mains voltage 120 V~ 60 Hz EURO nominal power 1450 W USA nominal power 1450 W Cable length 80 cm Volumetric capacity 1.2 liter/40 fl. oz Test marks GS, CE, ETL, CETLInstructIon for use
