Frequently Asked Questions - AGATHA 2800 TAURUS

How to fill the water tank?
Open the filling spout cover, fill up to MAX level (see figure 1), then close. Preferably use distilled water if the water is hard.
How to use the spray function?
Press the spray button (A) to dampen the laundry. This function can be used both for dry and steam ironing.
How to use the steam burst?
Press the steam burst button (B) for a powerful steam jet. Wait a few seconds between each press to let the steam penetrate the fibers. Do not apply more than three successive bursts.
How to adjust the temperature?
Turn the temperature selector (E) according to the fabric type: low for synthetics, medium for silk/wool, high for cotton/linen. The indicator (F) goes off when the temperature is reached.
What to do if the iron does not produce steam?
Check that the water tank contains water and that the temperature is high enough (indicator off). Make sure the steam control (C) is not set to 0. If necessary, perform a self-cleaning.
How to clean the iron?
Unplug and wait for it to cool down. Clean the soleplate and body with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use solvents or abrasives. Do not immerse the iron in water.
How to use the self-cleaning function?
Fill the tank to max, plug in the iron, set to maximum temperature. Once hot, unplug, place over the sink, hold the self-cleaning button (D) for about 1 minute until the tank is empty.
When to replace the anti-scale cartridge?
The anti-scale cartridge (K) must be replaced every 12 weeks if the water is very hard, or every 18 weeks if hard. Use a specific Taurus cartridge.
How does the automatic shut-off work?
If the iron remains stationary horizontally for 30 seconds or vertically for 8 minutes, it automatically turns off. A beep and a blinking indicator (G) indicate this. Move the iron to reactivate it.
What to do if the iron smokes on first use?
This is normal: some parts are slightly greased. Use the iron normally; the smoke will disappear after a few minutes. Make sure to remove the protective film and packaging.
