How to correctly install the VIVANCO webcam?

It is essential to install the software and driver from the CD before connecting the webcam to the USB port. Insert the CD, the installation starts automatically. Otherwise, run Setup.exe from the CD. Follow the instructions, restart the computer, then connect the webcam.

What to do if the automatic installation does not start?

If the installation does not start automatically after inserting the CD, open the root directory of the CD-ROM and double-click the file Setup.exe to manually launch the installation.

What adjustments can I make with the Amcap software?

In the Amcap software, you can adjust contrast, color, white balance, sharpness, as well as advanced options like zoom and face tracking (depending on your webcam model).

How to clean the webcam lens?

Use a soft, dry cloth to gently clean the lens. Avoid liquid or abrasive cleaning products that could damage the lens.

Is the VIVANCO webcam compatible with Windows 10?

The manual mentions compatibility up to Windows Vista. For Windows 10, the driver may not be officially supported. You can however try connecting the webcam after manually installing the driver in compatibility mode or look for a generic driver.

Why does the webcam LED not light up?

The LED lights up when the webcam is properly connected and recognized. Check that the software and driver have been installed before connecting, that the USB port works, and that the webcam is firmly plugged in.

Can I use the webcam without installing the supplied CD?

In the Amcap software, open the video capture properties (Video Capture Filter). If your model supports it, an option Face Tracking is available. Enable it so that the camera automatically follows your movements.

What to do if the webcam is not recognized by the computer?

Make sure you installed the software and driver before connecting the webcam. Try a different USB port, restart the computer, or check in the Device Manager if the driver is correctly installed (without an exclamation mark).

Installation

Attention:

Make sure to install the software and driver BEFORE plugging the camera into USB port.

1. Insert the software CD into the CD-ROM drive of your computer.
2. The installation program will run automatically. If the installation does not auto play, please run "Setup.exe" from the CD-ROM's root directory to install. Please follow the steps below to install.

Software installation - Driver

The InstallShield Wizard will run Webcam Driver setup.

Click "Next" to continue.

Driver installation completed:

When Driver installation is completed, restart the PC, click "Finish", then plug the Webcam into the USB port.

Hardware installation

Webcam Connection

Plug the Webcam to the PC after you installed the software and drivers before. The Webcam's LED indicator will light up when it is successfully connected.

Attention:

If a dialog box pops up and requests to have the language setting file replaced after plugging the camera into USB port, please simply click "Yes" to continue.
