4. OPERATION
The induction cooking system uses the physical principle of magnetic induction to directly transfer energy from the generator to the pot.
Advantages:
Compared to electric hotplates, your induction hob is:
- Safer: lower temperature on the glass surface.
- Faster: shorter food heating times.
- More precise: the hob reacts immediately to your commands.
- More efficient: 90% of the energy absorbed is converted into heat. In addition, once the pan is removed from the hob, heat transfer is immediately interrupted, avoiding unnecessary heat loss.
Cookware

Only use pots marked with the symbol
To avoid scratches, do not use:
- Containers with bottoms that are not perfectly flat.
- Metal containers with enamelled bottoms.
- Containers with a rough base to avoid scratching the surface of the hob.
- Do not place hot pots and pans on the control panel surface.
Suitable cooking pots
Induction cooking generates heat through the use of magnetism. Therefore, cookware must be made of a magnetic material, such as iron. To determine if a pot is suitable, test its material with a magnet. If a pan does not respond to a magnet, it is not suitable for induction cooking.
Recommended diameters for the bottom of pans
IMPORTANT: If the pot size is incorrect, the cooking zones will not activate.
For details on the minimum pot bottom diameter to be used in each zone, refer to the illustrated portion of this manual.
Power saving
Recommendations to achieve the best results:
- Use pots and pans with a bottom diameter equal to that of the cooking zone.
- Use only pots and pans with flat bottoms.
- Keep the lid on the pot whenever possible during cooking.
- Cook vegetables, potatoes, etc., with a minimum amount of water to reduce cooking time.
- Use a pressure cooker, as it further reduces energy consumption and cooking time.
- Centre the pan within the cooking zone indicated on the hob.
Extractor usage
The extractor ventilation system can be used in two ways: as an external extraction and evacuation system or as a filter with internal recirculation. The external extraction and exhaust version removes smoke, steam and cooking odors to the outside, while the internal recirculation version filters these elements and recirculates clean air back into the room.
Extraction version
The fumes are expelled to the outside through a series of tubes (sold separately Ref. A01_EU01_112196) connected to the connection flange included.
The diameter of the exhaust pipes must match the diameter of the connection ring:
- For rectangular outlets, 222 x 89 mm
- For circular outlets, ∅ 150 mm (*).
Notes:
- When connecting the product to wall-mounted exhaust pipes and orifices, make sure that the diameter matches the air outlet (connection flange).
- Using smaller diameter tubes and orifices can reduce the efficiency of the exhaust fan and increase noise levels.
- For best results, keep the duct as short as possible with as few bends as possible (maximum angle: 90°) and avoid abrupt changes in duct diameter.
Choosing the right container
Containers for induction hobs
- Containers for induction cooking zones must be made of metal and have magnetic properties. The base must be large enough.
- Use only cookware with a base suitable for induction.
ENGLISH
This is how the suitability of a pot is determined:
| Suitable containers | Unsuitable containers |
| Enameled steel pots with thick base. | Pots made of copper, stainless steel, aluminium, oven-resistant glass, wood, ceramic and terracotta. |
| Cast iron pots with enameled base. | |
| Pots made of multilayer stainless steel, rust-resistant ferritic steel or aluminum with special base. |
- Perform the magnet test described above or make sure that the cooker has the induction cooking suitability symbol.
- Never use pans with a deformed base. A hollow or rounded base may interfere with the operation of the overheat protection, causing the appliance to overheat. This can lead to cracking of the top glass and melting of the pan base. Damage resulting from the use of unsuitable pans or dry boiling is excluded from the warranty.
- If the base of the cookware is only partially ferromagnetic, only the area that is ferromagnetic will be heated. This may mean that the heat will not be evenly distributed. The non-ferromagnetic area may not be heated to a temperature sufficient for cooking.
- The ferromagnetic area will also be reduced if the material of which the base of the cookware is made contains aluminium, for example. This may mean that the cookware will not get hot enough or even that it will not be detected.
- The material the base of the pan is made of may affect the cooking result. Using pots and pans made of materials that distribute heat evenly, such as stainless-steel pans with a three-layer base, saves time and energy. Use cookware with a flat base; if the cookware base is uneven, this may affect heat distribution.
Magnet test
Bring a magnet close to the base of your container. If attracted, you can use the pan on the induction hob.
Note: When using induction-safe pans from certain manufacturers, noises attributable to the design of these pans may occur. Be careful when using frying pans on low heat, as water may evaporate unnoticed, causing damage to the pan and hob, for which no liability will be assumed.
Container dimensions
- To achieve a good cooking result, the ferromagnetic area at the base of the pan should match the size of the cooking zone.
- If a cooking zone does not detect cookware, try placing it on another cooking zone with a smaller diameter.
| Cooking zone | Minimum cookware diameter |
| 160mm | 120mm |
| 180mm | 140mm |

5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Before cleaning, switch off the hob and allow it to cool down.
- Do not use steam or high-pressure cleaners to clean the hob, as this may cause an electric shock.
- When cleaning, be sure to gently wipe over the On/Off sensor. Otherwise, the hob could accidentally ignite!
Induction hob
⚠️ Important! Never use aggressive cleaning agents such as abrasive agents, pot cleaners, rust and stain removers, etc.
Cleaning after use
Always clean the entire hob when it becomes dirty. It is recommended to do this every time you use the hob.
Use a damp cloth and a little detergent to clean. Then dry the hob with a clean, dry cloth to ensure that no detergent remains on the surface.
Weekly cleaning
Clean the entire hob thoroughly once a week with commercial glass ceramic cleaners. Follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully. When applied, the cleaning agent will cover the plaque with a protective film that is resistant to water and dirt. All dirt remains on the film and can be easily removed. Then dry the hob with a clean cloth.
Make sure that no cleaning agent is left on the surface of the hob, as this will react aggressively when heated and change the surface.
Specific dirt
- Heavy dirt and stains (such as lime scale and pearlescent stains) are best removed when the hob is still slightly warm. Use commercial cleaning agents to clean debris.
- First soak the boiled food residues with a damp cloth and then remove the remaining dirt with a special scraper for glass-ceramic hobs. Then clean the hob again.
- Burnt sugar and melted plastic should be removed immediately, while still hot, with a glass scraper. Then clean the hob again.
- Grains of sand that may fall on the hob when peeling potatoes or cleaning lettuce can scratch the surface when moving the pots. Make sure that no grains of sand are left on the hob.
- Changes in the colour of the hob will not affect the function or stability of the glass ceramic material. These colour changes are not changes in the material, but food residues that were not removed and burned on the surface. Shiny spots occur when the base of the cookware rubs against the surface of the hob, especially when aluminium-based utensils or inappropriate cleaning agents are used. They are difficult to remove with standard cleaners, and it may be necessary to repeat the cleaning process several times. Over time, the decoration will wear, and dark stains will appear as a result of the use of aggressive cleaning agents and defective pot bottoms.
- If a large amount of liquid is accidentally poured into the machine, remove the silicone plug at the bottom to release the liquid. Fig. 16
Electric connection
This induction hob should be connected to the mains power supply only by a suitably qualified person.
Before connecting the hob to the mains, check that:
- The domestic wiring system is suitable for the power consumed by the hob.
- The voltage corresponds to the value indicated on the nameplate.
- The cross-sections of the power supply cable can withstand the load specified on the nameplate.
Do not use adapters, reducers or branching devices to connect the hob to the mains, as they may cause overheating or fire.
The power supply cable must not touch hot parts and must be positioned so that its temperature does not exceed 75° C at any time.
⚠️ Consult with an electrician if the domestic wiring system is suitable without alterations. Any modifications must only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
The power supply must be connected in accordance with the relevant standard. The connection method is shown in Figure 17.
- If the cable is damaged or needs to be replaced, the operation must be performed by an after-sales agent with specialized tools to avoid accidents.
- If the appliance is connected directly to the mains supply, an omnipolar circuit breaker must be installed with a minimum opening of 3 mm between contacts.
- The installer must ensure that the correct electrical connection has been made and complies with safety standards.

- The cord must not be bent or compressed.
- The cable should be checked regularly and replaced only by authorized technicians.
6. TROUBLESHOOTING
In case of errors during operation, refer to the following table before calling for service. The following are some common errors and the checks to be performed.
| Problem | Possible causes | Solution |
| The appliance does not turn on. | No power. | Ensure the hob is connected to the power supply and switched on. Check to see if there is a power outage in your home or area. If you have checked everything and the problem persists, call a qualified technician. |
| The touch icons do not work. | The controls are locked. | Unlock the controls. Refer to the section 'OPERATING THE DISPLAY WITH THE SENSOR BUTTONS' for instructions. |
| Touch controls are difficult to operate. | There may be a thin film of water on the controls, or you may be using your fingertip when touching the controls. | Make sure the touch control area is dry and use your fingertip when touching the controls. |
| The glass is scratching. | Utensils with rough edges. Abrasive or unsuitable cleaning products are being used. | Use utensils with flat, smooth bases. See 'Choosing the right utensils'. See 'Care and cleaning'. |
| Some pans make crackling or clicking noises. | This may be caused by the construction of your cookware (layers of different metals integrating differently). | This is normal for cookware and does not indicate a fault. |
| The induction hob makes a low hum when used on a high heat setting. | This is caused by induction cooking technology. | This is normal, but the noise should diminish or disappear completely when the heat setting is reduced. |
| Fan noise is heard coming from the induction hob. | A cooling fan built into your induction hob has activated to prevent overheating of the electronic components. It may continue running even after you have switched off the induction hob. | This is normal and does not require action. Do not turn off the power to the induction hob from the wall while the fan is running. |
| Cookware does not heat up and appears on the display. | The induction hob cannot detect the pan because it is not suitable for induction cooking. The induction hob cannot detect the pan because it is too small for the cooking zone or is not properly centred on it. | Use cookware suitable for induction cooking. See section 'Choosing the right utensils'. Centre the pan and ensure its base matches the size of the cooking zone. |
| The induction hob or a cooking zone has switched off unexpectedly, a tone sounds and an error code is displayed (normally alternating with one or two digits on the cooking timer display). | Technical fault. | Write down the letters and numbers of the error, turn off the induction hob from the wall and contact a qualified technician. |
| After connecting the power and pressing the "on" button, there is no response from the device. | Is there a fault in the electrical supply? | Wait for the power supply to be restored. |
| Has the fuse blown or has the circuit breaker tripped? | Carefully check root causes. If the problem persists, contact Cecotec's Official Technical Support Service. | |
| Is the plug firmly connected? | Check the mains connection. | |
| The heating is interrupted during normal use, and a “beep” is heard. | Have incompatible cookware been used or not used? | Replace cooking utensils |
| Is the container not placed in the centre of the heating zone? | Place the container in the centre of the indicated heating zone. | |
| Is the cookware heated but continuously withdrawn? | Place the container inside the heating zone. | |
| Does not work during warm-up. | Is the cookware empty or is the temperature too high? | Check if the unit is being used incorrectly. |
| Is the air inlet/outlet clogged or has dirt accumulated in the air inlet/outlet? | Unclog the air inlet/outlet. Wait for the appliance to cool down and switch it on again. | |
| Has the kitchen been running for more than 2 hours without any interaction? | Reset the cooking modes or use the timer function. |
If the above solutions/control measures do not solve the problem, unplug the appliance immediately and contact Cecotec's Official Technical Support Service for inspection and repair. Note the error code and report it to the service centre.
To avoid any danger and damage to the device, do not disassemble or repair it yourself.
