How to change the drill chuck?

Unplug the tool, insert a hex key into the chuck and turn counterclockwise to unscrew it. Screw the new chuck by hand then tighten with the key.

The drill no longer starts, what to do?

First check the power supply and cable. If the problem persists, the carbon brushes may be worn: replace them by unscrewing the caps on the motor.

What is the ideal speed for drilling metal?

Use a slow speed (about 500-1000 rpm) with a suitable drill bit and lubricate the cutting area to avoid overheating.

Can I use hammer drill bits on wood?

Yes, the hammer function is mainly for masonry. On wood, it is better to disable the hammer to avoid splitting the material.

How to adjust the torque?

Turn the torque adjustment ring located behind the chuck. The higher the number, the stronger the torque. Start with a low setting for screwdriving.

The drill heats up abnormally, is that normal?

Slight heat is normal, but if it becomes too hot, stop it and let it cool down. Check that the ventilation slots are not blocked and that you are not using a dull drill bit.

What type of drill bit for concrete?

Use a carbide-tipped drill bit (for hammer drilling). Activate the hammer function and set a medium speed.

How to replace the motor carbon brushes?

Unplug the drill, unscrew the plastic caps on each side of the motor, remove the worn brushes and insert the new ones respecting the orientation. Replace the caps.

Can I use a drill as a screwdriver?

Yes, with a suitable screwdriver bit and a low torque setting to avoid damaging screws or material.

Electrical safety

Always check that the voltage of the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.

• Do not use the machine if the mains cable or the mains plug is damaged.
• Only use extension cables that are suitable for the power rating of the machine with a minimum thickness of 1.5 mm^2 . If you use a extension cable reel, always fully unroll the cable.

Mains plug replacement (UK only)

If the moulded 3-pin plug attached to the unit is damaged and needs replacing, it is important that it is correctly destroyed and replaced by an approved BS 1363/13A fused plug and that the following wiring instructions are followed.

The wires in the mains cable are coloured in accordance with the following code:

As the colours of the wires in the mains cable of the unit may not correspond to the coloured markings identifying the terminals in the plug, proceed as follows:

• The wire which is coloured blue must be

connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black.

- The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.

Description

Your hammer drill has been designed for drilling holes into wood, steel, and masonry. The machine can also be used as a demolition hammer in combination with the SDS chisels.

Assembly

Before assembly, always switch off the machine and remove the mains plug from the mains.

Mounting and removing the accessory (fig. B)

Do not use blunt drill bits or chisels. Immediately sharpen or replace blunt drill bits or chisels.

Mounting

• Apply a few drops of oil to the shaft of the accessory.
• Slide the locking sleeve (5) to the rear.
• Insert the accessory into the chuck (4).
• Secure the accessory by turning it counterclockwise until it locks into place.
• Release the locking sleeve (5).

Removing

• Slide the locking sleeve (5) to the rear.
• Remove the accessory from the chuck (4).
• Release the locking sleeve (5).

Mounting and removing the auxiliary grip (fig. C)

Mounting

• Loosen the auxiliary grip (7) by turning it counterclockwise.
• Mount the auxiliary grip (7) by sliding it over

the chuck (4).

• Turn the auxiliary grip (7) to the required position.
• Tighten the auxiliary grip (7) by turning it clockwise.

Removing

• Loosen the auxiliary grip (7) by turning it counterclockwise.
• Remove the auxiliary grip (7).
• Tighten the auxiliary grip (7) by turning it clockwise.

Mounting and removing the depth stop (fig. C)

Mounting

• Loosen the auxiliary grip (7) by turning it counterclockwise.
• Insert the depth stop (8) through the hole in the auxiliary grip (7).
• Set the depth stop (8) to the required position.
• Tighten the auxiliary grip (7) by turning it clockwise.

Removing

• Loosen the auxiliary grip (7) by turning it counterclockwise.
• Remove the depth stop (8).
• Tighten the auxiliary grip (7) by turning it clockwise.

Mounting and removing the dust collector (fig. D)

The dust collector prevents dust from entering the machine when drilling into ceilings.

Immediately replace a damaged dust collector.

Mounting

• If necessary, remove the accessory from the chuck (4).
• Slide the dust collector (15) over the shaft of the accessory.
• Insert the accessory with the dust collector (15) into the chuck (4).

Removing

• Remove the accessory with the dust collector (15) from the chuck (4).
• Remove the dust collector (15) from the accessory.

Use

Switching on and off (fig. A)

• To switch on the machine, press the on/off switch (1).
• To switch off the machine, release the on/off switch (1).

Setting the operating mode (fig. A & E)

The drill selection switch and the hammer selection lever must be set according to the required operating mode. Refer to the table below to set the required operating mode.

- Turn the drill selection switch (2) and the hammer selection lever (3) to the required position.

Speed Preselection

The required speed can be preselected with the thumbwheel. Also during running the rotational speed can be adjusted.

The required speeds depends on the material and can be determined by practical testing.

Hints for optimum use

• Clamp the workpiece. Use a clamping device for small workpieces.
  • Firmly hold the machine by the grip.
• Set the operating mode.
• Switch on the machine.
• Do not apply too much pressure on the machine. Let the machine do the work.
• Switch off the machine and wait for the machine to come to a complete standstill before putting the machine down.

Cleaning and maintenance

Before cleaning and maintenance, always switch off the machine and remove the mains plug from the mains.

• Regularly clean the housing with a soft cloth.
- Keep the ventilation slots free from dust and dirt. If necessary, use a soft, moist cloth to remove dust and dirt from the ventilation slots.

Lubrication

• Regularly grease the shaft in which the accessories must be inserted.
• Regularly check the grease level inside the machine:

• Remove the cover from the lubrication point (9) using a screwdriver.
• Remove the cap from the lubrication point (9).
  • If necessary, add some grease into the lubrication point (9).
  • Mount the cap to the lubrication point (9).
• Mount the cover to the lubrication point (9) using a screwdriver.

Trouble shooting

Below we have listed a few probable causes and solutions to which you can refer if your circular saw does not function properly.

1. Machine fails to operate.

• Power turned off.
• (Extension) cable damaged.

2. The elektromotor hardly reaches maximum speed.

• The extension cable is too thin and/or too long.
  • The mains voltage is lower than 230 V.

3. Machine overheats.

• Air vents are blocked. Clean them with a dry cloth.
- The machine has been overloaded. Use the machine for the purpose it is made for.

4. Excessive sparking or elektromotor runs irregular.

• There's dirt inside the motor or the carbon brushes are worn.
• Replace the carbon brushes or bring the machine to a specialized repair centre.

Disposal

The product, the accessories, and the packaging must be sorted for environmentally friendly recycling.

Should a fault occur, e.g. after wear of a part, please contact the service address on the warranty card. In the back of this manual you find an exploded view showing the parts that can be ordered.
