How to use the aroma level function for 2-4 cups?

Press the ON/OFF button then the 2-4 button. The 2-4 indicator lights up and the ON/OFF indicator turns off. The function automatically deactivates after 11 minutes.

What to do if coffee overflows from the filter?

Do not remove the carafe for more than 30 seconds during brewing. The anti-drip system prevents drips, but overflow can occur if the carafe is absent for too long. Also check that the filter is properly positioned.

How to clean the coffee maker?

Unplug the appliance. Clean the housing with a damp cloth. The carafe and lid are dishwasher safe. Rinse the filter holder under running water while operating the anti-drip system several times. Never immerse the appliance in water.

How often should I descale my coffee maker?

At least every 3 months. Use an environmentally friendly descaler without formic acid. Follow the manufacturer's instructions. After descaling, run at least two cycles with clear water.

Can I use mineral or distilled water?

No. Only use cold, clear tap water. Mineral water, distilled water, milk or tea may damage the appliance.

How to stop the coffee maker manually?

Press the ON/OFF button (symbol ①). The indicator turns off. The appliance also stops automatically 2 hours after brewing finishes.

What to do if the carafe breaks?

Contact your dealer or the after-sales service. Provide the model (see rating plate under the appliance). A replacement carafe may be provided at a charge.

Does the keep-warm plate stay on permanently?

No, it remains active as long as the appliance is on. It turns off with manual or automatic stop after 2 hours.

What type of ground coffee to use?

Use medium grind coffee. The amount depends on your taste: about 6-7 g per cup for a medium-strength coffee.

Why is my coffee not hot enough?

Check that the carafe is properly placed on the keep-warm plate. The plate maintains the coffee at the ideal temperature. If the problem persists, descaling may be necessary.

General safety

• The appliance must be connected only to a power supply at a voltage and frequency which comply with the specifications on the rating plate on the underside of the appliance!
• The appliance should only be plugged into a socket installed according to regulations.

Points to note when using the appliance

• Never allow the cord to come into contact with the hotplate!
• Before cleaning and carrying out maintenance, switch the appliance off and unplug from the mains socket.
• The hotplate, water outlet pipe and filter cover will heat up during use. Keep children away!
• Do not fill the appliance with water when it is hot.

Switch the coffee maker off and wait approx. 5 minutes for it to cool down!

• Please follow the instructions for descaling!
• Never immerse the unit in liquid.
• The manufacturer accepts no liability for any damage caused by improper or incorrect use.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended. Unplug from the mains socket even when leaving the room for a short time.

Disposal

Packaging material

The packaging materials are environmentally friendly and can be recycled. The plastic components are identified by markings, e.g. >PE<, >PS<, etc. Please dispose of the packaging materials in the appropriate container at the community waste disposal facilities.

Operation

Before using your coffee maker for the first time

Before using the appliance for the first time, clean it by running water through it once or twice without using paper filter and coffee.

Making coffee

Open the lid (figure 1/B).

Fill in water (figure 2).

Fill the water reservoir only with fresh cold water. Never fill the water reservoir with mineral water, distilled water, milk, ready made coffee, tea etc.

You can use the coffee jug to fill in the amount of water you require. There is a gauge for 2-10 cups in the water reservoir and on the coffee jug.

The markings apply for the amount of fresh water.

The quantity of coffee produced is lower as the ground coffee absorbs water.

Insert paper filter.

Insert a size 1x4 paper filter in the filter holder (figure 1/C). Please fold the perforated edges before doing this.

Fill in ground coffee.

Please use ground coffee, medium grind. The quantity of coffee is matter of personal taste. For an average strong coffee one measuring spoon (approx. 6-7 g) is sufficient per cup.

Close the lid (figure 1/B).
Place the coffee jug complete with lid onto the hotplate.
Switch on the appliance with the ON/OFF button (figure 1/E).

The indicator lamp lights up. After a few seconds, hot water flows into the filter. When the water has stopped flowing, the appliance automatically switches to the warming mode.

Remove the jug.

Whilst boiling, the jug must not be removed for longer than 30 seconds or the filter will overflow.

Once the jug has been removed, the filter valve prevents coffee from dripping onto the hotplate. The hotplate always keeps the coffee hot. It remains on until the appliance is switched off with the ON/OFF button (figure 1/E) and the indicator lamp goes out.

If the appliance is not switched off by hand, it automatically switches off 2 hours after the end of boiling.
To guarantee uniform coffee strength it should be stirred in the coffee jug after preparation.
If the water has stopped flowing and you wish to refill water for a fresh jug of coffee, switch the appliance off and allow it to cool down for a few minutes.

Aroma setting

The aroma setting guarantees full coffee enjoyment even with small quantities (2-4 cups).

Switch on the appliance with the ON/OFF button (figure 1/E). The indicator lamp lights up.
Switch on the aroma setting with the Aroma button 2-4 (figure 1/D). The indicator lamp of the button 2-4 lights, the indicator lamp of the button ① goes out. Aroma setting is switched on.
11 minutes after the end of boiling aroma setting automatically switches off, and the indicator lamp of the ON/OFF button ① lights again.
To restart the aroma setting, press Aroma button 2-4 (figure 1/D) again.

Cleaning and Care

Unplug the power cord from the mains socket before cleaning.
To clean the filter holder, swing up the handle and remove the filter holder (figure 3). To clean the filter valve thoroughly, activate it several times whilst it is being rinsed.
Reinsert filter holder and swing handle down.
Clean the appliance with a damp cloth but never immerse it in water!
Coffee jug and jug lid are dishwasher proof.

Descending - making your coffee maker last longer

As a precautionary measure, we recommend descending every three months. Only use an environmentally friendly descaler and follow the instructions on the packet. Please do not use a descaler with a formic base, or any descaler in powder form.

Fill the water reservoir with water and only then add the descaler. Not vice versa!
Place the coffee jug with its lid onto the hotplate.

Allow the descaler to take effect for about 15 minutes, then switch the appliance on. Switch it off when the descaler solution has finished flowing through.

If necessary repeat the descending process.
Following this, allow the appliance to run at least twice with plain water.
Thoroughly rinse the coffee jug, lid and filter holder under running water, activate the filter valve repeatedly during the rinse process.

If your coffee jug smashed, you can purchase a new one from your sales dealer or the service centre specifying the model of your coffee maker, see rating plate (figure 1/J).
