Before removing the knife (blade G) from your GRAEF SKS 900, first ensure that the device is turned off and unplugged from the power outlet. This safety step is essential as the blade is extremely sharp and can cause serious injuries.

Knife removal procedure:

Pull the carriage (E) completely towards you to move it away from the blade.
Detach the blade cover (H) by rotating it 45° to the right. You can do this by hand or with a coin (1 euro for example) inserted into the designated slot. Caution: do not force too much, or you risk removing the blade at the same time.
Turn the blade locking mechanism 90° to the right and gently remove the blade (G).

Cleaning after removal:

Clean the inside of the blade with a damp cloth. Never immerse the blade in water or in the dishwasher, as this could lead to rust formation, even on stainless steel (due to food salts like ham or cucumber). Wipe carefully and if necessary use a mild cleaning product. Occasionally, lubricate the gear wheel with a little Graef vaseline (item no. 141842).

Reassembling the knife:

Reverse the order of the steps: first replace the blade in its holder, then install the blade cover by rotating it 45° counterclockwise until it clicks into place and does not fall off. Handle the blade with the utmost care as it is very sharp.
