The screen only shows the time at startup and I cannot navigate between modes

This behavior is normal at startup. Here’s how to navigate correctly:

Use the ⏻/MODE button

The ⏻/MODE button serves two functions: turning the device ON/OFF AND switching between modes. Press this button several times (briefly) to switch from one mode to another.

The available modes on the BBTC-550 are:

bt - Bluetooth
AUX - Auxiliary input
rd - FM Radio
tAP - Cassette
Cd - CD
USB - USB stick

If only the time is displayed

The device may be in standby mode with the screen frozen. According to the manual, you can press and hold the ⏻/MODE button for 2 seconds to completely turn off the screen. A short press on this same button will reactivate the device and display the last used mode.

The LCD screen will then light up and indicate the current playback mode, allowing you to navigate normally between modes.
