To activate the subwoofer mode on the AIWA AVD97, you must first use the MANUAL SELECT button on the remote control, which will display "SUBW OFF" on the receiver's screen. This initial step cannot be bypassed without the remote control.

However, once the display shows "SUBW OFF", you can then use the front panel buttons to activate the subwoofer:

Within 4 seconds of the "SUBW OFF" display, press the TUNING (DOWN) button (M button) or turn the MULTI JOG selector to the left to display "SUBW ON"
The subwoofer mode is then activated

It is important to respect the 4-second window; beyond that, the display returns to normal and you must start over by pressing MANUAL SELECT on the remote control again.

The subwoofer output of the AIWA AVD97 receiver provides a voltage of 5.0 V. Make sure your powered subwoofer is properly connected to the SUB WOOFER 3 jack at the back of the unit before activating this function. If no subwoofer is connected, ensure to select "SUBW OFF".
