The jigsaw is an electric tool designed for cutting of wooden surfaces and surfaces made of wood and those made of wood derivatives, polyethylene and soft metals, using adequate blades. The tool permits easy cutting of the processed surfaces, with a possibility of adjusting the angle. A correct, reliable and safe operation of the tool depends on its correct use, so:

Electrical safety

Personal safety

SAFETY WARNINGS FOR RECIPIROCATING SAWS

Hold the power tool by its insulated grip surfaces while performing operations where the cutting part may come into contact with concealed wiring or its own cable. If the cutting part comes into contact with live cable, it may cause the exposed

metal parts of the power tool to become live and electrocute the operator.

Use clamps or other practical means to securely fasten and support the workpiece on a stable platform. Holding the workpiece with your hand or pressed against your body makes it unstable and can lead to loss of control.

PREPARING FOR OPERATION

Attention! All activities associated with the installation and replacement of saw blades, their adjustment and the maintenance of a power tool should be carried out when the operating voltage of the tool is switched off, therefore, before the further proceedings, you should carry out the following steps: Remove the battery pack from the power tool socket!

Safety recommendations for battery loading

Attention! Before loading may start make sure the body of the charger, the cable and the plug are not broken or damaged. It is prohibited to use a damaged loading dock and charger! For the purpose of loading batteries only the charging dock and the charger provided may be used. Using another charger may be a cause of fire or damage the tool. Batteries may be charged only in a dry room, protected from unauthorised persons, particularly children. Do not use the charging dock and the charger without permanent supervision of an adult! If it is necessary to leave the room where loading is taking place, it is required to disconnect the charger from the mains, removing the charger from the mains socket. In case when smoke comes out of the charger, or a strange smell is emitted, etc., it is required to immediately remove the plug of the charger from the mains socket!

The drill and automatic return screwdriver is provided with an unloaded battery, so before work may commence, it is required to charge it following the procedure below, using the charger and charging dock provided. Li-ION batteries do not show the so called "memory effect", so it is allowed to charge them at any moment. However, it is recommended to discharge them during normal work, and then load them to their full capacity. If due to the nature of the task it is not possible to do so each time, then it is required to do it at least from time to time. Under no circumstances is it allowed to discharge the batteries short-circuiting the electrodes, since this would cause irreversible damage! It is also prohibited to check the load of the batteries, short-circuiting the electrodes for sparking.

Storage of the battery

In order to prolong the life of the battery, it is required to provide adequate storage conditions. The batteries can go through approximately 500 "loading - discharging" cycles. The battery must be stored between 0 and 30^ , at the relative humidity of 50% . In order to store the battery for a prolonged period, it is required to charge it to approximately 70% of its capacity. In case of prolonged storage, it is required to recharge the battery once a year. Do not permit excessive discharging of the battery, since this would reduce its life and may cause irreversible damage.

During storage, the battery will be gradually unloading due to leakage conductance. The process of automatic unloading depends on the temperature of storage, since the higher the temperature, the fastest the process. In case of incorrect storage of batteries, there is a danger of electrolyte leakage. In case of leakage, it is required to protect the leakage with neutralizing agent. In case of contact of electrolyte with the eyes, it is required to rinse the eyes abundantly, and then immediately seek medical assistance. It is prohibited to use a tool with a damaged battery.

In case the battery is completely worn out, it is required to deposit it at a special point dedicated to disposal of such waste.

Transport of the batteries

Lithium-ion batteries are in accordance with legal regulations treated as dangerous waste. The user of the tool may transport the tool with the battery or only batteries by land. Then no additional conditions must be complied with. In transport is realised by third parties (for example dispatch through courier service), then it is required to proceed in accordance with regulations for transport of dangerous materials. Before shipment, contact an authorised person.

It is prohibited to transport damaged batteries. During transport the battery must be removed from the tool, and the exposed contacts protected, e.g. with insulating tape. Protect the batteries so that they do not move inside the package during transport. It is also required comply with the national regulations for transport of dangerous materials.

Charging the battery

Attention! Before charging you should disconnect the charger from the mains by unplugging the power supply plug from the mains. In addition, you should clean the battery and its terminals of dirt and dust with a soft, dry cloth.

The battery has a built-in charge indicator. When you press the button, LEDs will light up (II), the more LEDs will light up, the more fully the battery pack is charged. If the button is pressed and the LEDs are off it means that the battery is discharged.

Disconnect the battery from the tool.

Push the battery in the charger socket (II).

Plug the charger into a mains socket.

When the red LED lights up, it means the loading process.

When charging is complete, the red LED goes off, and green LED lights up, indicating a full charge of the battery.

Unplug the charger from the mains outlet.

Remove the battery from the charging station, by pressing the battery latch button.

Attention! If, when the charger is connected to the power supply, the green LED is on, this indicates a fully charged battery. In this case, the charger does not start charging.

Adjustment of the dust extraction

The fan, which is mounted in the engine, produces air stream, which can be used for suction or blowing out the dust produced during operation. The switch on the enclosure side allows to set the direction of the air flow (III). The air blowing out from the tool front allows to blow out the dust from under the blade, which facilitates cutting. Air blowing out from the tool rear allows to suck the dust by an external dust extraction installation, that should be connected to the connecting port on the back of the tool. In the case of using an external dust extraction installation, refer to the information that came with this installation.

Attention! If you use an external dust extraction installation, you should not set the switch in position, that will result in the air blowing out at the front of the tool.

Mounting and replacing the saw blade

You should check whether the blade is not damaged, cracked, whether the cutting teeth are not broken, etc. In the case of damage, replace the saw blade for a new one.

Saw blades differ depending on their assignation. Saw blades for wood and wood-based materials have widely spaced teeth and saw blades for metal and plastic have finer teeth. You should select a saw blade suitable for the planned work. Mount the saw blade with its teeth facing forward.

The blade should be put in the spindle gap, so it will rest by its back on the notch in the roll.

Attention! Mounting the saw blade should be carried out in the protective gloves. This will reduce the risk of injury.

Turn the clamping sleeve of the spindle and hold it, and to the spindle gap insert the blade holder (IV). Allow the sleeve to go back to its starting position and make sure that the blade has been properly fixed: i.e. the clamp sleeve is in its original position, and the saw blade can not be removed from the spindle.

The saw blade removal should be carried out in reverse order.

Setting the saw blade oscillation (V)

Electric jig saw is equipped with an adjustable gradual oscillation adjustment. Adjusting is possible by using the lever. The lower the number of setting, the the smaller the oscillations of the saw blade. With the setting labeled by "0" the saw blade oscillations are disabled.

Saw blade oscillations allow for easy cutting, and their grade should be selected by an experiment, for example, by cutting the waste material. However, you should follow the instructions, which are presented below:

• in order to obtain the most smooth edge of the cut you should set the lowest possible grade of oscillations or even turn them off,
• when cutting thin materials (e.g., sheet of metal), you should switch of the oscillations,
• when cutting hard materials (e.g. steel), set the low rate of oscillation,
• when cutting soft materials, you should set the maximum degree of oscillation.

Setting the cutting angle (VI)

The jig saw allows for adjustment of the angle of traverse cutting in the range from 0 to 45 degrees, tilting is possible in to the left and right as well. If it is necessary, before adjusting, you should remove the dust extraction connection. You should loosen the screws that secure the basis of the jigsaw, but do not unscrew them completely. Then move the basis back or forward and tilt it by setting the desired cutting angle. The base can have hooks or a scale to facilitate setting the most common cutting angles. After adjustment you should tighten the base screws and make sure that the base itself does not changed the set angle.

Before every operation, you should ensure that the saw blade is installed correctly, and the saw blade guard is in its place, Wear eye protection, hearing protectors and working gloves. Mount the workpiece to the workstation, for example by using carpentry clamps, vice, etc. Never hold the cut material only by hands or other parts of the body. In the case of cutting you must support the material at its ends and near the cut line. Supports must be placed on both sides of the cut line so during cutting, the blade would not jammed in the cut kerf. During cutting the foot must be supported by its whole surface on the cut material. To the outlet of the dust extraction connection your should connect the dust extraction installation.

Switching on and off the jig saw

You should make sure that at the work place the surface is even, stable and free of pollution.

Adopt a stable stand.

Grab the tool by the handle. You should not rest any parts of the working tools on any subject or object.

Push and hold the blocking of the switch, and then press it by your finger and hold it. After you press the switch it is not necessary to hold the lock. Check whether the saw blade is moving freely, and the tool does not suspiciously or excessively vibrate, it is not

Cutting in a straight line.

Before you start cutting it is recommended that you mark the cut line, for example by using a pencil. You should also make sure that the cut material does not contain items of different hardness. For example, cut the wood should not contain nails, staples and other metal items. You should also avoid the electrical wires, that may be hidden in the cut material.

Rest the tool base front on the cut material so the saw blade is not touching it.

Turn on the tool and let the saw blade achieve full adjusted speed.

Start cutting by leading the jigsaw with your both hands. During cutting you should press the saw to the surface and, at the same time, by a smooth motion lead it along the cutting line. Use the minimum pressure which allows for the correct operation. Avoid tilting the jigsaw, hitting by the blade in the crossing material and changes in direction of the cut. Failure to follow these instructions may lead to jamming of the saw blade in the cut material, damage or destruction (cracks) blade or cut material, as well as to damage of the jigsaw itself.

During cutting a hard metal, for example a steel, your should use frequent breaks to cool the saw blade.

Cutting the curved line

You should comply with all the recommendations as in the case of cutting in a straight line, but you should use the saw blades which are designed to cut arcs. They have a narrower blade than the saw blades designed for straight cutting and they make it easier to cut arcs.

In the case of cutting holes, you should mark the shape of the cut hole, and then, at its edge, drill a hole with a diameter larger than the width of the cutting blade. Drilled hole wall should be touching the line of the marked hole, which will be cut. In the hole you should insert the saw blade of the jig saw and start cutting.

Additional notes

Do not allow to overload the tool, its external surfaces temperature should never exceed 60^ .

At the end of work you should turn off the tool, disconnect the battery, then make maintenance and inspection.

During the guarantee period, the user cannot dismantle the electric tools or change any sub-assemblies or elements, since it will cancel any guarantee rights. All irregularities detected at overhaul or during functioning of the tools are a signal to have the tool repaired at a service shop. Once the functioning has been concluded, the casing, ventilation slots, switches, additional handle and protections must be cleansed with a stream of air (at a pressure not exceeding 0.3MPa ), with a brush or a cloth without any chemical substances or cleaning liquids. Tools and handles must be cleansed with a clean cloth.
