SOMMAIRE

Read these instructions thoroughly before using the appliance. Keep this instruction manual for future reference or new users. Make sure that the mains voltage matches the voltage stated on the rating label of the appliance and that the wall outlet is grounded.

Do not leave the iron unattended while hot, connected or on an ironing board.

Place the appliance on a flat, stable surface.

Do not operate the appliance if it has dropped, if it shows visible signs of damage or if it leaks.

Do not pull on the power cord when unplugging or moving the device, pull on the plug instead.

Do not twist, bend, strain, or damage the power cord in any way. Protect it from sharp edges and heat sources. Do not let it touch hot surfaces. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the working surface or countertop.

Do not immerse the cord, plug, or any non-removable part of the appliance in water or any other liquid, nor expose the electrical connections to water. Make sure your hands are dry before handling the plug or switching on the appliance.

Check the power cord regularly for visible damage. If the cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the official Technical Support Service of Cecotec in order to avoid any type of danger.

Avoid contact with the steam generated by the iron. Steam temperature is very high and can cause burns and other damage.

Do not use chemically descaled or perfumed water. It is recommended to use distilled or natural water.

Disconnect the iron from the power supply when filling or emptying water, or when not in use.

Unplug the appliance immediately if fire or smoke is observed. Do not leave the appliance unattended while in use. Unplug it from the power supply when you finish using it and before leaving the room.

The appliance must not be plugged in when filling or emptying the water tank.

The tank cap must not be open when the appliance is switched on. This device is designed to iron fabrics. This product is designed only for household use. It is not suitable for commercial or industrial use. Do not use outdoors. Keeping the iron at maximum temperature for too long may cause discolouration, which will not affect the performance of the appliance.

Do not try to repair the product by yourself. Contact the official Technical Support Service of Cecotec.

To ensure the correct operating of the device, cleaning and maintenance tasks must be carried out according to this instruction manual. Turn off and unplug the appliance before moving and cleaning it. Allow it to completely cool down before cleaning or storing it.

Store the appliance and its instruction manual in a safe and dry place when not in use. Cecotec takes no responsibility for any damage caused by misuse of the appliance. Any misuse or non-compliance with these instructions renders the warranty and Cecotec's liability null and void.

The appliance is not intended to be used by children under the age of 8. It can be used by children over the age of 8, as long as they are given continuous supervision.

This product can be used by children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, as long as they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

Supervise children, they shall not play with the appliance. Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is being used by or near children.

Cleaning and maintenance tasks must not be carried out by children.

Warning: All our ironing range's products have undergone quality control tests previous to their commercialisation. These tests consist of filling the water tank in order to check tightness and to ensure correct operating of the device.

Once the test has been carried out, the tank is emptied and dried, but there is a slight probability that water could remain inside it.

2. BEFORE USE

Note: You may notice a slight burning smell or smoke when using the appliance for the first time, caused by the excess of lubricants from the manufacturing process. Smoke will disappear after a short time.

Take the product out of the box.

Remove packaging material, stickers and labels from the soleplate.

Clean the iron's soleplate with a soft cloth.

Inspect all parts of the appliance for visual damage. Unwind the power cord completely and inspect it for damage.

Do not use the product if it or its cord have been damaged or are not working properly.

In case of damage, contact the official Technical Support Service of Cecotec for advice, repairs or returns.

Make sure you have read and understood all instructions and warnings in this instruction manual. Pay particular attention to the safety instructions on previous pages.

Place the appliance on an even, heat-resistant surface. Do not place the appliance near heat sources, places with high humidity levels, or combustible materials.

Plug the appliance into an appropriate wall outlet. The plug must have easy access, so that in case of an emergency, it can be easily unplugged.

3. OPERATION

Filling the water tank

Unplug the iron before filling the water tank.

Rest the iron on its heel rest, tilt it forward approximately 45° and fill the water tank up to the MAX mark.

Tap water may be used. In case water is hard, use distilled water. Do not use chemically descaled or scented water under no circumstance.

Mix 50 % of tap water with 50 % demineralised water. Do not use only demineralised water.

Vertical steaming

Ensure there is enough water in the tank.

Stand the steam iron vertically, rest it on its heel and connect it to the power supply.

Set the temperature and steam knobs to maximum.

Hold the iron vertically and press the steam burst button, an intense steam will be ejected from the soleplate.

Dry ironing

Select the appropriate temperature according to the type of fabric.

Position 0: No steam

Steam ironing

Unplug the iron and fill it with water.

Fill the water tank.

Plug the power cord into the power supply.

Set the temperature knob to the maximum position to use the steam iron, otherwise, water will leak from the soleplate.

The light indicator will turn off when the device has reached the right temperature.

Set the steam knob to the desired position.

Note: Synthetic fabric, nylon, synthetic silk and silk cannot be used with the steam iron, otherwise it will damage the surface finish.

Steam burst

By pressing the steam burst button, an intense burst of steam is emitted from the soleplate. This function can only be activated during high temperature ironing.

Note: To prevent the soleplate from leaking, do not keep the steam burst button pressed for more than 5 seconds.

For optimal steam burst, do not press the steam burst button more than three times in a row to prevent the iron from cooling. Leave a 1-minute rest between steam bursts.

Spray

The spray function can be used with any temperature setting during the steam ironing or dry ironing mode, as long as the tank is full.

Press the spray button a couple of times to dampen clothes.

Self-cleaning

Make sure the appliance is unplugged and the steam knob to the 0 position.

Fill the water tank up to the maximum mark and close it.

Select the maximum temperature mode.

Connect the appliance to the power supply.

Unplug the appliance when it reaches the temperature.

Holding the iron horizontally, turn the steam knob to the maximum position, press the self-

cleaning button and gently shake the device. Place a container or a bowl beneath the iron.

The soleplate will emit boiling water and steam to remove all impurities.

Repeat this process if necessary.

After the self-cleaning process, plug in the device again and let the iron heat up to allow the soleplate to dry.

Unplug the iron when it has reached the set ironing temperature, move the hot iron gently over a piece of used cloth to remove any water stains that may have formed on the soleplate and let it cool down before storing it.

Recommendation: Carry out the auto-clean cycle once every 2 weeks. When excessive limescale is observed, carry it out more frequently.

Auto shut-off function

The iron will automatically turn off when it is placed and kept still horizontally 30 seconds, or vertically for 8 minutes.

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Turn off, unplug the appliance from the power supply, empty the water tank (do it after each use) and allow it to cool down completely.

In case fabric is adhered to the soleplate due to heat, use a clamp cloth and vinegar to detach it.

Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads to clean the product.

If scale blocks the steam holes, use a toothpick to remove it.

To protect the soleplate while it is stored, place the steam iron in an upright position on its heel rest.

Outside surface of the iron

After unplugging and letting the iron cool down, wipe its exterior surface with a damp cloth and, if necessary, a mild detergent.

Warning: Do not use any abrasive cleaning agent.

Soleplate

Starch and other types of residue may be easily removed from the soleplate with a damp cloth. To avoid scratches on its finish, do not use metallic scouring pads to clean the soleplate and never place the iron on a rough surface. If synthetic fabrics are ironed at high temperature, both the fabric and the soleplate of the iron could be damaged. The best way to remove synthetic residue from the soleplate is to heat it up and iron over an old cotton rag. Warning: Do not use steam iron cleaners in this iron, since they could damage its parts.

Storage

Disconnect the iron from the mains supply.

Empty the tank by turning the iron upside down and gently shaking it.

Allow the iron to coal down completely.

Wind the power cord around the base of the iron.

Store the iron in a vertical position.

8. TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND WARRANTY

The warranty will not cover the following situations:

The product has been used for purposes other than those intended for it, misused, beaten, exposed to moisture, immersed in liquid or corrosive substances, as well as any other fault attributable to the customer.

The product has been disassembled, modified, or repaired by persons, not authorised by the official Technical Support Service of Cecotec.

Faults deriving from the normal wear and tear of its parts, due to use.

The warranty service covers every manufacturing defects of your appliance for 2 years, based on current legislation, except consumable parts. In the event of misuse, the warranty will not apply.
