- Only connect the fryer to an earthed socket outlet.
- Before using the fryer for the first time, thoroughly clean each part. See cleaning and maintenance section.
- Never immerse the control/heating element in water and do not clean these parts under running water.
- Make sure that all parts are completely dry before filling the fryer with oil or liquid fat.
- It is recommended to use oil or liquid fat for frying. Solid fat can also be used for frying. In this case,
- special care must be taken so that the grease does not splash out and the heating element overheats.
(See section "Solid frying fat" and "Tips"). - Never turn on the fryer unless it is filled with oil or liquid fat.
- Only use oil or fat that does not make foam and is suitable for
frying. This information is shown on the packaging or label.
- The fryer must be filled with oil or fat between the two marks on the inside of the container,
- always make sure that the fryer is filled with sufficient fat or oil before starting the fryer.
- A thermal safety cut-out switches the fryer off in the event of overheating (see section on "Safety and reliability").
- These instructions indicate the maximum quantities for frying must not be exceeded (see Table).
- Hot steam is released during frying. Keep a safe distance from the steam.
- When the fryer is in use, it must be kept out of the reach of children.
- Do not let the cable hang over the edge of a table or work surface on which the fryer is standing.
After use, turn the thermostat to the lowest position (turn the thermostat fully anticlockwise). - Disconnect the mains plug and allow the oil or fat to cool down. Do not move the fryer until fryer
and its contents have cooled.
SECURITY
Safety thermal cut-off
- In case of overheating, the thermal cut-out will switch off the fryer.
- This can occur if the fryer is not filled with enough oil or the solid frying fat in the fryer melts.
- In the case of solid fat, it melts in the fryer.
- In the case of solid grease, the heating element is incapable of irradiating.
- the heat produced quickly enough.
- If the safety thermal cut-out switches off the fryer, proceed as follows:
- Allow the oil or fat to cool.
- Carefully press the (reset switch) on the back of the control element with a small screwdriver.
- The fryer is now ready for use again.
Safety switch
The safety switch in the control element ensures that the heating element can only be switched on when the control element locks with a click.
Cold zone
During the frying process, food particles accumulate at the bottom of the pan.
The heating element is located under the tank and heats the oil/ grease in the upper part of the tank.
In a grease fryer, the oil/grease between the base and the heating element remains relatively cool (cold zone).
This prevents the food particles in this area from burning and offers the advantage of being able to use
oil or grease more than once.
Frying with solid fat
We recommend the use of oil or liquid fat for frying in this fryer.
- Solid fat can also be used for frying. The following precautions should be taken to prevent fat splashing and overheating of the fryer:
- If using fresh fat, allow the fat blocks to melt slowly over moderate heat in a normal frying pan. Carefully pour the melted fat into the fryer. Plug the appliance into the mains and turn on the deep fryer (see "frying" section)
- After use, store the fryer with the re-solidified fat at room temperature. If the fat is too cold.
- Cannot splash when overheated!
- To prevent this from happening, prick the solid grease with a fork several times, taking care not to damage the resistor.
- Do not touch the upper and lower casing of the appliance. They can become very hot during operation. Use the handle instead.
- Do not cover the appliance with any objects.

TIPS Homemade crisps
How to make delicious and crispy potato crisps:
Potatoes intended for frying must be nutritious and show no signs of blemishes.
Floury or firm potatoes should be used for frying.
After peeling the potatoes, cut them as desired (strips or slices).
- Soak the potatoes in water for about an hour before use. This releases some of the sugar, one of the main substances responsible for the formation of acrylamide.
- Allow the potatoes to dry thoroughly.
Always fry home fries twice.
- First for 4-6 minutes at 160^ and then 2-4 minutes at 175^ maximum.
- When frying for the second time, remove the basket from the fryer several times and stir to loosen the potatoes. This will give them all an even, golden colour.
- Deep-frozen Chips are pre-cooked, so you only need to fry them once. Follow the instructions on the packaging.
- Deep-frozen products
- Deep-frozen products (-16 to -18°C) cool the oil or fat considerably, so they do not fry quickly enough and may absorb too much oil or fat.
This can be avoided in the following way:
- Do not fry large quantities at a time (see table).
- Heat the oil for at least 15 minutes before adding the product.
- Set the thermostat to the temperature specified in these instructions or on the product packaging.
- It is preferable to let the deep-frozen product thaw at room temperature. Remove as much ice and water as possible before placing the product in the fryer.
- Place the product slowly and carefully into the fryer, as deep-frozen products have a high risk of freezing.
- The tendency to sharply bubble hot oil or fat.
HOW TO ELIMINATE OFF-FLAVOURS
- Some foods, especially fish, release liquids when frying. These liquids accumulate in the frying oil or fat and affect the smell and taste of other products fried later in the same oil or fat. The taste of the oil or fat can be neutralised in the following way:
- Heat the oil or fat to 160^ and add two thin slices of bread or some parsley to the fryer. Wait until the oil or fat stops bubbling and remove the bread or parsley with a skimmer. The taste of the fat in the oil becomes neutral again.
HEALTHY EATING
Nutritionists recommend the use of vegetable oils and fats containing unsaturated fatty acids (e.g. linoleic acid). However, these oils and fats lose their positive properties more quickly than other types and should therefore be changed more frequently. The following information is for guidance only:
- Change the oil or fat regularly. If the fryer is mainly used for fries or chips and the oil or fat is sieved after each use. It can be used 10 to 12 times.
- Do not use the oil for more than six months. Follow the instructions on the container.
In general, oil or fat cannot be used for a long time if it is used for frying foodstuffs containing
mainly protein, such as fish meat.
- Do not mix new oil with used oil.
- Change the oil or grease if it starts foaming when heated, develops a strange taste or odour, or becomes dark and/or syrupy.
as well as consistency.
PROVISION
The best way to dispose of used oil or liquid fat is to pour it back into the original plastic bottle and close it tightly. Solid fat should be allowed to solidify in the fryer and then removed (e.g. with a spoon or spatula) and wrapped in newspaper. The bottles or newspaper should be placed in the fryer in the dustbin or disposed of in accordance with applicable national regulations.
