• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years old and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be carried out by children unless they are over 8 years old and are under supervision. Keep this appliance and its power cable out of reach of children under the age of 8.
• Check the power cable regularly for visible damage. If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the official Cecotec Technical Support Service or similar qualified personnel to avoid risks.
• The device must not be submerged.
• This appliance is designed for domestic use only and is not intended for bars, restaurants, farmhouses, hotels, motels, and offices.
• Avoid spillage on the cable.
• The surface of the heating element is subject to residual heat after use.
• In case of misuse, personal injury and/or material damage may occur.
• Do not immerse the cable, plug, or any other part of the appliance in water or any other liquid or expose electrical connections to water. Make sure your hands are dry before handling the plug or switching on the appliance.
• WARNING: care must be taken to avoid spillage of liquids on

• Ensure that the mains voltage matches the voltage specified on the device rating label and that the plug is earthed.

• The appliance can reach high temperatures during use. Do not touch the surface, water, steam, or food inside the basket during operation.

• Do not touch the appliance when it is steaming and wear heat-resistant gloves when removing the lid, rice bowl, or steam basket.
• Unplug the appliance from the mains immediately after use and before cleaning or maintenance.
• Supervise children to prevent them from playing with the appliance.

2. BEFORE USE

• This appliance is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the appliance out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place to prevent damage to the device if you need to transport it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly.
• Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If there is any piece missing or in bad conditions, contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service immediately.

- Before using the food steamer for the first time, wash the stainless steel containers with warm water and detergent and rinse them thoroughly for 1 minute, as they will be in direct contact with the food during cooking.

- Do not remove the serial number of the appliance in order to keep a correct traceability of it in case of assistance.

3. OPERATION

Cooking time selection

Turn the timer knob clockwise to the desired position to set the cooking time. The maximum time is 60 minutes.

Warning:

The timer knob cannot be turned counterclockwise from the "OFF" position.

Operation

1. Place the appliance on a flat and stable surface.

Warning:

Keep the appliance away from objects that can be damaged by hot steam.

1. Fill the water tank with cold water up to the maximum level.
2. Place the steam tube around the heating element so that it is in the centre of the base.
3. Place one to three steamer baskets in the appliance depending on the amount of food you wish to steam.
4. Put the lid on and plug the appliance into a mains socket.
5. Turn the timer knob to select the desired cooking time.
6. The indicator light will switch on and the heating element will start to heat up.
7. After the selected cooking time has elapsed, the appliance will stop operating automatically and the indicator light will switch off. Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down before cleaning it.

Note:

• During the cooking process, hot steam will escape through the openings in the lid; be careful not to burn yourself.
• If the food steamer tank is filled with water up to the "MAX" mark, the operating time can be extended by up to 1 hour. To reduce the operating time, reduce the amount of water.
• To set a cooking time of less than 10 minutes, first turn the timer knob to 30 minutes and then turn it back to the desired time position.
• Cooking time is approximate and for reference only, please note that you can adjust the water level to suit your preference.
• The appliance features an overheating protection system. If the food steamer runs out of water during the cooking process, the heating element will stop heating automatically, even if the timer is still operating. If you wish to continue cooking, add more water to the tank and restart the process.

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Before performing any cleaning or maintenance task, switch off the appliance and unplug it from the mains. Make sure the appliance has completely cooled down.
• Do not immerse the base in water or other liquids.
• Wash the steaming baskets, steam tube and lid with warm, soapy water. Once clean, rinse and dry all parts thoroughly.
• Do not use metal scouring pads, nylon brushes or other abrasive tools to clean the parts. Use a sponge or soft cloth.
• Clean the housing of the appliance with a soft, damp cloth.
• To remove ingrained dirt, use a damp cloth. Be sure to drain it well first.
• To avoid deformation or cracking of the appliance, do not use cleaning products containing alcohol or solvents.
• The use of chemicals may damage or discolour the surface of the appliance.
• Wash the parts suitable for cleaning with soap and water, then rinse them with water and dry them thoroughly with a cloth or a piece of kitchen paper.
• To clean stains or limescale from the water tank, pour in a solution of water and 20 ml of white vinegar and allow it to work for about 15 minutes to descale. Then, rinse the tank with clean water and clean it with a soft sponge or cloth.
• Clean the food steamer thoroughly and store it in a cool, dry place if it is not going to be used for a long time.

The appliance power consumption when off is 0.1 W, following the guidelines of EN 50564:2011 and the European regulations 1275/2008/EC and 801/2013/EC. 6. DISPOSAL OF OLD ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC APPLIANCES
