ENGLISHENGLISH
Grinding coffee beans
The coffee should be freshly ground and subjected to deep roasting. You may need to use French or Italian roasted coffee powder for espresso. Pre-ground coffee powder can only remain scented for 7 to 8 days unless it is stored in a sealed container and placed in a cool place. Do not store coffee in the refrigerator or freezer. It is recommended to grind all coffee beans into powder before use. The fragrance of the coffee beans stored in the sealed container can be maintained for 4 weeks.
This is a vital step in the espresso making process if you are grinding your own coffee and takes practice. The coffee must be of a fine grind. The correct grind should look like salt. If the grind is too fine, the water will not flow through the coffee even under pressure. These grinds look like powder and feel like flour when rubbed between fingers.
If the grind is too coarse, the water flows through the coffee too fast, preventing a full-flavored extraction. Be sure to use a quality mill for uniform consistency.
Press the power button. the grinding light indicator will turn on indicating the grinding process is activated. Fill the coffee bean tank with suitable coffee beans and turn the adjustment knob to the desired setting. Insert the portafilter and place it on the portafilter holder and push it forwards for the device to dispense ground coffee. The light indicator will flash white during the grinding process.
Note: If the portafilter is not filled properly into position, the indicator will light up in red and will flash.
It is suggested to grind coffee at level 8-10 for a maximum of 1 minute each time.
If the pressure gauge indicates too low pressure during brewing, turn the grind knob to a finer setting and then try to grind the beans to brew the coffee.
If the pressure gauge indicates too high pressure during brewing and coffee cannot be brewed or coffee is over-extracted, turn the grind knob to a coarser setting and grind beans to brew coffee.
Recommendation: In order to obtain the best results and the best coffee flavour, carry out the grinding process and coffee press in such way that coffee is extracted at 9 bars approx.
Coffee customization
Press and hold the single and double espresso button at the same time to enter coffee customization mode, the single and double espresso light indicators will blink.
Press the espresso button for the machine to dispense an espresso, the light indicator will blink. Press again the same button when you have the desired amount of coffee for an espresso. This amount will be saved.
2223POWER ESPRESSO 20 BARISTA AROMAXPOWER ESPRESSO 20 BARISTA AROMAX
Repeat these steps with the double espresso button to save the desired amount of coffee for a double espresso.
Note: If you want to reset factory settings of the coffee amounts, just press and hold the corresponding coffee button for 5 seconds until the light indicator flashes twice.
Recommendation: The suggested amount of water for coffees is 20-60 ml for an espresso and 50-100 ml for a double espresso.
Sleep mode
The coffee machine will automatically enter sleep mode after 30 minutes of no operation. The On/off button will remain on. Press any button to exit sleep mode.
Coffee selection
Coffee used in this coffee machine should be freshly ground and deep roasted. It is important to use only specific ground coffee for espresso coffee machines.
If you are grinding coffee yourself, this step is a very important step in the espresso making process, coffee must be finely ground.
• Ground coffee should look like salt.
• If powder is too fine, even if it is tamped it may cause the coffee to flow out intermittently. These ground coffee feels like flour.
- If powder is too thick, water will flow too fast, reducing its flavour.
In order to get a uniform, consistent coffee, make sure to use a high-quality coffee grinder.
Warnings:
- Single or double coffees can be brewed only after finishing preheating.
- The machine will beep and its light indicators will turn on when there is not enough water in the water tank. After refilling it, it will return to normal conditions.
• After finish using steam, hot water and brewing coffee functions cannot be used while the machine cools down, wain until it enters standby mode.

3 factor to take into account:
1. COFFEE
Use naturally-roasted coffee finely ground or coffee beans and an adequate mill.
If you choose to buy GROUND COFFEE:
The package must say: "Suitabe for espresso coffee machines" and "Naturally-roasted fine ground coffee".
If you choose to use COFFEE BEANS:
Use a mill or grinder with fine grinding setting and suitable for espresso coffee machines.
2.PRESSING
The ideal pressing level is when coffee is evenly pressed at a 20-kg pressure inside the filter.
If the grinding level is coarser than the recommended one, press it a bit more.
If the grinding level is too fine, such as coffee powder, press it less for water to flow better.
3. PRESSURE
The ideal pressure for obtaining better froth, texture, aroma and flavour is between 5 and 12 bars. If the correct pressure is not applied:
When pressure is below the recommended one, press coffee a bit harder in order to make it more compact or use finer ground coffee.
When pressure is above the recommended one, press coffee a bit less in order to make it less compact or use coarser ground coffee.
