How to install the backwash nozzle?
Insert the flat gasket onto the nozzle, then insert it from the inside through the opening of the tank. Fix with the union nut and close with the sealing plug fitted with the sealing washer.
What is the minimum immersion depth for the pump?
The pump must be placed horizontally on a solid surface, with the filter housing covered by at least 20 cm of water. Always observe the maximum immersion depth specified in the technical data.
How to clean the filter?
Unplug the device, open the clips, remove the filters and clean them under a stream of cold water. Also clean the inside of the tank with a water jet. Reassemble in reverse order.
How often should the filter sponges be replaced?
It is recommended to replace the sponges after 2 to 3 washes. To maintain bacteriological efficiency, replace four sponges at a time in staggered order.

Commissioning

Removing the filter container cover (☒A)

  1. Open all six fastening clips (☒A0).
  2. Lift the filter container cover off the filter container (☒A2).
  3. Remove all components from the filter container.

Fitting the backwash connecting piece (☒B)

  1. Fit the flat seal ② onto to backwash connecting piece ①.
  2. Insert the backwash connecting piece from the inside through the opening in the filter container.
  3. Fasten the backwash connecting piece with the union nut ③.
  4. Insert the sealing washer ④ into the plug ⑤.
  5. Seal the backwash connecting piece with the plug.

Installing the UVC clarifier (☒C)

  1. Slip one sealing washer ③ each onto the two threads of the UVC clarifier ④.
  2. Insert the UVC clarifier through the openings in the filter container.

  3. On the left side, fasten the UVC clarifier with the union nut ①.

  4. On the right side, fasten the UVC clarifier with the plug ②.

Use the spanner included in the scope of delivery for installing the union nut and the plug.

Fitting the hose connecting piece (☒D)

  1. Slide the union nut ③ onto the hose connecting piece ②.
  2. Insert the seal ① into the union nut.
  3. Screw the hose connecting piece onto the UVC clarifier with the union nut.

Inserting the filter (☒E)

  1. Check the correct fit of the seal ⑤ in the filter insert ①.
  2. Check the correct fit of the seal ⑥ in the prefilter tub ③.
  3. Fill the two filter baskets ② with one bag of EHEIM FILTERBIO ⑦ each and rinse them out with running water.

Make sure that the filter baskets are not filled to overflowing!

  1. Insert the filter in the filter housing in the following order:

① Filter insert with filter foams
② Filter baskets with EHEIM FILTERBIO ⑦
③ Prefilter tub
④ Blue prefilter mat

  1. Place the filter container cover onto the filter container and close it using all six fastening clips.

Installing the pump connection (☒H)

  1. Screw the hose connecting piece into the pump.
  2. Use the spiral hose to connect the hose connecting piece of the pump with the hose connecting piece of the UVC clarifier.

We recommend fastening the hoses with hose clamps.

Connecting the outlet pipe (optional)

Optionally, you can connect the extension pipe (∅ approx. 75 mm) to the outlet pipe.

  1. Place the filter on the pond bank (☒H).

  2. Place the pump on a solid surface as horizontal as possible in the pond so that the filter housing of the pump is covered by at least 20 cm of water. Pay attention to the maximum pond depth (see Technical data).

The following sections describe maintenance work necessary for optimum and fault-free operation. Regular maintenance prolongs the service life and assures functionality of the flow-through filter over a long period.

Contamination indicator(☒F)

The flow-through filter has a contamination indicator. Check the contamination approximately every 4 weeks.

- Clean the flow-through filter when the red area of the float is visible.

The pump must be switched on to correctly indicate the level of contamination.

Cleaning

  1. Remove the mains plugs of the pump and the UVC clarifier.
  2. Open all six fastening clips and remove the cover of the filter container (☒A).
  3. Remove all filters from the housing (☒E).
  4. Clean all filters under cold, running water.
  5. Clean the inside of the filter container with a water jet.
  6. Re-insert the filters in reverse order and close the filter container ( E ).

Replacing the filter foams

The filter foams should be replaced after every second or third cleaning. In order to maintain the bacteriological filter effect, only four foams may be replaced at a time.

  1. Turn the receptacle ① of the filter foam ② to the right (☒G0).
  2. Pull the filter foam downwards, and out of the filter insert (☒G2).
  3. Remove the filter foam from the receptacle.
  4. Fit the new filter foam onto the receptacle.
  5. Install the filter foam again in reverse order.
