Commissioning Removing the lter container cover (⌦A)
3. Remove all components from the lter container.
Fitting the backwash connecting piece (⌦B)
1. Fit the at seal ② onto to backwash connecting piece ①.
2. Insert the backwash connecting piece from the inside through the opening in the lter container.
3. Fasten the backwash connecting piece with the union nut ③.
4. Insert the sealing washer ④ into the plug ⑤.
5. Seal the backwash connecting piece with the plug.
Installing the UVC clarier (⌦C)
1. Slip one sealing washer ③ each onto the two threads of the UVC clarier ④.
2. Insert the UVC clarier through the openings in the lter container.14
3. On the left side, fasten the UVC clarier with the union nut ①.
4. On the right side, fasten the UVC clarier with the plug ②.
Use the spanner included in the scope of delivery for installing the union nut and the plug. Fitting the hose connecting piece (⌦D)
1. Slide the union nut ③ onto the hose connecting piece ②.
2. Insert the seal ① into the union nut.
3. Screw the hose connecting piece onto the UVC clarier with the union nut.
Inserting the lter (⌦E)
1. Check the correct t of the seal ⑤ in the lter insert ①.
2. Check the correct t of the seal ⑥ in the prelter tub ③.
3. Fill the two lter baskets ② with one bag of EHEIM FILTERBIO ⑦ each and rinse them out with
running water. Make sure that the lter baskets are not lled to overowing!
4. Insert the lter in the lter housing in the following order:
① Filter insert with lter foams ② Filter baskets with EHEIM FILTERBIO ⑦ ③ Prelter tub ④ Blue prelter mat
5. Place the lter container cover onto the lter container and close it using all six fastening clips.
Installing the pump connection (⌦H)
1. Screw the hose connecting piece into the pump.
2. Use the spiral hose to connect the hose connecting piece of the pump with the hose connecting
piece of the UVC clarier. We recommend fastening the hoses with hose clamps. Connecting the outlet pipe (optional) Optionally, you can connect the extension pipe (Ø approx. 75 mm) to the outlet pipe. Operation DANGER! Electric shock! ▶ When the UVC clarier is tted, the device’s safety distance from the water must be at least 2 m. DANGER! ▶ Heed the operating manual for the UVC clarier and the pump, especially the chapters on safety, commissioning and operation!
2. Place the pump on a solid surface as horizontal as possible in the pond so that the lter housing
of the pump is covered by at least 20 cm of water. Pay attention to the maximum pond depth (see Technical data). Switching on the pump and UVC clarier
1. Insert the respective mains plug into the mains socket.

Maintenance DANGER! Electric shock! ▶ Before all maintenance work, disconnect the mains plugs of the pump and the UVC clarier. DANGER! ▶ Heed the operating manual for the UVC clarier and the pump, especially the chapters on safety and maintenance. CAUTION! Material damage. ▶ Do not use hard objects or aggressive cleaning agents for cleaning. The following sections describe maintenance work necessary for optimum and fault-free operation. Regular maintenance prolongs the service life and assures functionality of the ow-through lter over a long period. Contamination indicator(⌦F) The ow-through lter has a contamination indicator. Check the contamination approximately every 4 weeks. ▶ Clean the ow-through lter when the red area of the oat is visible. The pump must be switched on to correctly indicate the level of contamination. Cleaning
1. Remove the mains plugs of the pump and the UVC clarier.
2. Open all six fastening clips and remove the cover of the lter container (⌦A).
3. Remove all lters from the housing (⌦E).
4. Clean all lters under cold, running water.
5. Clean the inside of the lter container with a water jet.
6. Re-insert the lters in reverse order and close the lter container (⌦E).
Replacing the lter foams Recommended maintenance The lter foams should be replaced after every second or third cleaning. In order to maintain the bacte
riological lter eect, only four foams may be replaced at a time.16 English
1. Turn the receptacle ① of the lter foam ② to the right (⌦G➊).
2. Pull the lter foam downwards, and out of the lter insert (⌦G➋).
3. Remove the lter foam from the receptacle.
4. Fit the new lter foam onto the receptacle.
5. Install the lter foam again in reverse order.
