2) PREPARATION

a) This machine can cause serious injuries. Read the instructions carefully for the correct handling, preparation, maintenance, starting and stopping of the machine. Become familiar with all controls and the proper use of the machine.

b) Never operate while people, especially children, or pets are nearby.

c) Dress properly! Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery and take care of long hair, they can be sucked into the ventilation slot. Use sturdy gloves, long trousers, nonskid footwear and safety glasses.

d) Do not operate the machine on a paved or gravel surface, where ejected material could cause injury.

3) OPERATION

a) This machine should not be used for any other purpose than described.

b) While operating, always wear substantial footwear and long trousers. Do not operate the machine when barefoot or wearing open sandals. Wear protective glasses.

c) Thoroughly inspect the area where the machine is to be used and remove all objects which can be thrown by the machine.

d) Before using the machine and after any impact, check for signs of wear or damage and repair as necessary.

e) Never operate the machine with damaged guards or without the guards in place.

f) Never allow children or people unfamiliar with the instructions to use the machine.

g) Stop using the machine while people, especially children, or pets are nearby.

4) Maintenance and Storage

Intended use

This garden tool is intended exclusively to handle foliage and garden refuse such as grass and small branches according to the descriptions and safety instructions indicated in this operating manual. The tool is not intended for commercial use.

MOUNTING THE DEVICE

1 Push the rear and front tube together and secure with two long screws. Push wheel support on the front tube and secure with a short screw.

2 Push handle on body until it clicks into place and secure with two short screws

3 Mount additional handle. Select position by loosening star screw. Tighten star screw to fix position..

4 Open the knurled screw, feed the belt strap through the opening and close the knurled screw again.

1 Press two charged batteries (not included) into the insertion slot 11 until it clicks into place.

SWITCHING ON/ OFF

1 Press the On/Off switch 13 to switch on the device. Release to switch it off again.

SUCTIONING

3 Turn selector switch 10 to indicated position. This can also be done while the device is operating.

BLOWING

4 Turn selector switch 10 to indicated position. Empty catch bag 8 before blowing.

CATCH BAG

1 Hang the hooks on the suction tube and the housing. Push the catch bag 8 over the catch bag socket 9 until it clicks into place.

2 To empty the catch bag 8, open the zip fastening at the bottom.

1 When blowing, make sweeping movements from side to side and walk slowly forwards.

Caution! Keep the collected pile of refuse in front of you and blow around the outer edge. Do not blow in the center of the pile!.

  • Turn the catch bag inside out after emptying and clean it thoroughly. In case of heavy soiling use soap and water.
  • Always keep the appliance clean, dry and free of oil or grease.
  • Wear safety glasses and gloves to protect your eyes and hands whilst cleaning.
  • For safe and proper working, always keep the machine and ventilation slots clean.
  • Regularly check for obvious defects and/or damaged components.
  • Periodically check all fixings. These could become loose with time due to vibration.
  • Check the catch bag regularly for signs of wear. If the zipper becomes difficult to pull, rub a bar of dry soap across the zipper teeth.
  • Replace any worn or damaged parts.
  • If the body of the appliance needs cleaning, wipe it with a brush or a soft damp cloth. A mild detergent can be used but nothing like alcohol, petrol or other cleaning agent.
  • Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts.
