The vibration level and noise emission value given in these instructions have been measured in accordance with a standardised measuring procedure and may be used to com- pare power tools. They may also be used for a preliminary estimation of vibration and noise emissions. The stated vibration level and noise emission value repres- ent the main applications of the power tool. However, if the power tool is used for other applications, with different ap- plication tools or is poorly maintained, the vibration level and noise emission value may differ. This may significantly increase the vibration and noise emissions over the total working period. To estimate vibration and noise emissions accurately, the times when the tool is switched off or when it is running but not actually being used should also be taken into account. This may significantly reduce vibration and noise emissions over the total working period. Implement additional safety measures to protect the oper- ator from the effects of vibration, such as servicing the power tool and application tools, keeping their hands warm, and organising workflows correctly. Assembly u Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any work on the power tool. Fitting the base plate (GSS160-1AMulti) (see figure A) Unscrew the four screws (8) completely. Put a suitable base plate on and retighten the screws. Changing the sanding plate (see figure A) If necessary, the sanding plate (6) can be replaced. Unscrew the four screws (8) completely and remove the sanding plate (6). Fit the new sanding plate (6) and retighten the screws. Changing the sanding sheet Remove dirt and dust from the sanding plate (6), e.g. with a brush, before attaching a new sanding sheet. To ensure optimum dust extraction, make sure that the punched holes in the sanding sheet are aligned with the drilled holes in the sanding plate. Sanding sheets with hook-and-loop backing (see figureB) If the sanding plate (6) is fitted with a hook-and-loop fasten- ing, sanding sheets with a hook-and-loop backing can be se- cured quickly and easily. Tap the hook-and-loop fastening of the sanding plate (6) be- fore fitting the sanding sheet (9) to facilitate maximum adhe- sion. Position the sanding sheet (9) so that it is flush with one side of the sanding plate (6), then place the sanding sheet on the sanding plate and press it on firmly. Sanding sheets without hook-and-loop backing (see figures C–E)

Unlock both sanding-sheet clamps (11) and swivel them downwards.
