1 LCD 17 DEUTSCH DEUTSCH ENGLISH Disposal For Testboy customers: Purchasing our product gives you the opportunity to return the instrument to collection points for waste electrical equipment at the end of its lifespan.
The WEEE directive regulates the return and recy- cling of electrical appliances. Manufacturers of elec- trical appliances are obliged to take back and recy- cle all electrical appliances free of charge. Electrical devices may then no longer be disposed of through conventional waste disposal channels. Electrical ap- pliances must be recycled and disposed of separate- ly. All equipment subject to this directive is marked with this logo.
Certificate of quality All aspects of the activities carried out by Testboy GmbH relat- ing to quality during the manufacturing process are monitored permanently within the framework of a Quality Management System. 1 LCD Operation Thank you for choosing a Testavit
1 LCD , sockets can be checked for correct connection*, or for wiring errors. The connection status is indicated by the LEDs and can be quickly and clearly determined in the printed table. To check to see whether an impermissible, high contact voltage is applied at the protective earth connection, the finger contact must be touched. if the LC display thereby illuminates, there is an error. By activating the button “FI/RCD test” (< 3 sec.), a function check of the residual current device (30 mA / 230 V AC) can be carried out.
Do the FI/RCD test only on fixed installations and con- structions. The test on movable and not fixed appliances, exten- sions etc. could lead to a high current flow through the protective earth connected metal parts. This test does not replace the VDE 0100 tests on the FI / RCD cir- cuit breakers! Testboy
offers appropriate measuring devices. In order to obtain a correct indication and to carry out the FI/RCD test, the right phase must be applied. Thus, the instrument may have to be rotated through 180° when checking a Schuko socket (depending on the wiring).
- In many international standards it is specified that the phase at a socket must be applied at the right connection (viewed from the front). In Germany, there is no clear regulation for this, because the Schuko plug is not protected against polarity reversal.Operation Testavit
WARNING The test device is also suitable for dual-conductor mains (classic zeroing). Interchanging the neutral conductor and protective conductor (earth) is not recognized by the device!
Check the tester is in good working condition before use by testing it in a known correctly wired socket of distribution board.Operation 20 Testavit
OK, Phase on the right side (FI/RCD triggering possible)
Neutral missing, Phase on the right side
L<>PE Phase/Ground inverted
L<>PE&PE L<>N& N Phase/Ground inverted and Ground missing Phase/Neutral inverted and Neutral missing LED off; LED on LC-Display
Warning! Voltage at PE
When contacting with the finger, observe the reference to the earthing potential. This means that incorrect indication of the LC display can occur if the person carrying out, has insufficient contact with the earthing potential (e.g. wooden ladder, thick rubber soles etc.).Operation Testavit
1 LCD 21 DEUTSCH DEUTSCH ENGLISH If the tester indicates a fault condition in the wiring under test, always investigate the wiring or have the wiring investigated by a competent person. Do not contact accross two phases of a three phase supply. The tester will not correctly test circuits using isolation trans- former. Before testing, disconnect any loads from the circuits of all socket outlet in same distribution board as possible with the socket under test. Some loads connected may lead to measur- ing error. Check the RCD trigger function in an known correctly circuit with RCD before used. Use caution with voltages above 30 V ac as a shock hazard may exist.
FOR USE BY COMPETENT PERSONS
Anyone using this instrument should be knowledgeable and trained about the risks involved with measuring voltage, espe- cially in an industrial setting, and the importance of taking safety precautions and of testing the instrument before and after using it to ensure that it is in good working condition. Definition of measurement categories: Measurement category II: Measurement category II is applicable to test and measuring circuits connected directly to utilization points (socket outlets and similar points) of the low-voltage mains installation. Typical short-circuit current is < 10 kA. Measurement category III: Measurement category III is applicable to test and measuring cir- cuits connected to the distribution part of the building’s low- voltage mains installation. Typical short-circuit current is < 50 kA.Operation 22 Testavit
1 LCD Measurement category IV: Measurement category IV is applicable to test and measuring circuits connected at the source of the building’s low-voltage mains installation. Typical short-circuit current is >> 50 kA. Read the instruction before use. If the equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection pro- vided by the equipment may be impaired. All parts of the device are not allowed to be changed or re- placed, other than authorized by the manufacturer or his agent. For cleaning the unit, use a dry cloth.
