How to configure the RT-AC1750U router?

You can configure the router via wired connection by connecting a network cable between your computer and a LAN port of the router, then opening your browser and going to http://router.asus.com. Set a password for the administration interface. You can also use the ASUS Router app available on Google Play: activate your mobile's Wi-Fi, connect to the default network (SSID indicated on the label) and follow the app instructions.

Where to find the default Wi-Fi network name (SSID)?

The default Wi-Fi network name is on the label stuck to the back of the router. It is in the form ASUS_XX_2G for the 2.4 GHz band and ASUS_XX_5G for the 5 GHz band, where XX corresponds to the last two digits of the 2.4 GHz MAC address.

How to reset the router to factory settings?

To reset the router, press and hold the Reset button (located on the back) for about 5 seconds until the LEDs flash. The router will restart with default settings.

What is the recommended operating temperature?

The router should operate in a temperature range between 0 °C and 40 °C and a relative humidity of 50 to 90%. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity.

Can I use the router outdoors?

No, the router is intended for indoor use only. Do not expose it to rain, moisture, or temperatures outside the operating range.

How to update the router firmware?

Visit the ASUS website at https://www.asus.com/support and search for your model RT-AC1750U. Download the latest firmware version and install it via the router's management interface (Administration section > Firmware Update).

What to do if I forgot the administration password?

If you forgot the password, you must reset the router to factory settings by holding the Reset button for 5 seconds. After that, you can log in with the default credentials (admin/admin).

What do the LED indicators on the router mean?

The router has several LEDs: POWER (power), WAN (Internet connection), LAN 1-4 (wired connections), 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (Wi-Fi network). When the LED is solid, the connection is active; if it blinks, there is traffic.

How to configure the 5 GHz Wi-Fi network?

The 5 GHz Wi-Fi configuration is done in the router's management interface. Log in to http://router.asus.com, go to the Wireless section, select the 5 GHz band, modify the SSID and password, then apply the changes. You can also do it via the ASUS Router app.

For optimal wireless transmission between the wireless router and connected wireless devices, ensure that you:

• Place the wireless router in a centralized area for a maximum wireless coverage for the network devices.
• Keep the wireless router away from metal obstructions and away from direct sunlight.
• Keep the wireless router away from 802.11g or 20MHz only Wi-Fi devices, 2.4GHz computer peripherals, Bluetooth devices, cordless phones, transformers, heavy-duty motors, fluorescent lights, microwave ovens, refrigerators, and other industrial equipment to prevent signal interference or loss.
• Always update to the latest firmware. Visit the ASUS website at http://www.asus.com to get the latest firmware updates.
• To ensure the best wireless signal, orient the four detachable antennas as shown in the drawing below.

Preparing your modem Preparing your modem

1. Unplug the power cable/DSL modem. If it has a battery backup, remove the battery.
   NOTE: If you are using DSL for Internet, you will need your username/password from your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to properly configure the router.
2. Connect your modem to the router with the bundled network cable.
3. Power on your cable/DSL modem.
4. Check your cable/DSL modem LED lights to ensure the connection is active.

You can set up your Router via wired or wireless connection.

A. Wired connection

1. Plug your router into a power outlet and power it on. Connect the network cable from your computer to a LAN port on your router.
