GENERAL DESCRIPTION GYSFLASH 1.12 Lithium is designed to charge the Lithium batteries of type Lithium Fer Phosphate (LFP / LiFePO4). This charger has been designed to charge 12V batteries (4 elements in series) from 0.5 Ah to 20 Ah, or for oating charge up to 50 Ah. START UP

1. Connect the charger to the battery using the proper accessory (clamps, lugs, etc...).

2. Plug the charger to the mains (single phase 220-240Vac 50-60Hz).

3. During the charge, the device indicates the charge progress. When indicator

blinks, the battery is ready to start the vehicle. Once indicator stays on, the battery is fully charged.

4. After the charge, disconnect the charger from the mains, then disconnect the charger’s connections from the battery.

  • Charge Mode description: CHARGE Mode (14.5V/1A) : Mode designed for 12V lithium batteries, from 0.5 Ah to 20Ah and up to 50Ah for maintenance charge. 8 step auto- matic maintenance charge cycle. If the motorbike is tted with a 12V plug, the GYSFLASH 1.12 can charge the battery via this plug with the CAN-BUS system, without switching the dashboard on. In this setup, connect the cigratte lighter adapter (ref. 029439) on the motorbike’s 12V charger then follow the «start up » procedure on the previous page. In certain cases, it is possible that the charge will only start 2 minutes after performing the connections.
  • Charging curve : The GYSFLASH 1.12 Lithium uses a charging curve which guarantees optimal performance for your lithium battery.

: Analysis Analyses the battery state (charge level, polarity inversion, wrong battery…) Step

: Recovery (0.2A) Recovering due to a prolonged deep discharge. Step

: Completion Reduce current charge to reach an 100% charge level. Step

: Charge (1A) Maximum current fast charge to reach an 90% charge level. Step

: Equalizing / balancing (14.4V) Balacing of battery cells. Step

: Absorption (13.8V) Constant voltage charge to reach a 98% charge level. Step

: Floating/maintenance charge (13.8V) Maintains battery charge level at its maximum with maintenance charge every 10 days.9 GYSFLASH 1.12 LITHIUM

  • Estimated charge time Battery capacity 1 Ah (3 Ah EqPb*) 5 Ah (15 Ah EqPb*)10 Ah(30 Ah EqPb*)20 Ah(60 Ah EqPb*)Charge timing 0% >>> 90%1 h 30 4 h 30 8 h 30 16 h *Lead battery corresponding : A lithium battery has a better starting performance (CCA) than a lead battery. That’s why some lithium battery manufacturers indicate the battery lead equivalent (EqPb) which corresponds to the capacity of a lead-acid battery with the same starting perfor- mance. For instance, a LFP battery of 10 Ah will have the same starting performance as a lead-acid battery of about 30 Ah.
  • Protections : The GYSFLASH 1.12 Lithium has comprehensive safety features to protect it against short-circuits and polarity rever- sals. It has an anti-spark feature which prevents sparks whilst connecting the device to the battery. This charger has double insulation and is safe to use with the battery in situ as it will protect the vehicle’s on-board electronics. The GYSFLASH 1.12 Lithium is tted with an integrated temperature probe that ensures that the charging current is adapted to the ambient temprature to prevent internal electronics’ overheating. TROUBLESHOOTING Troubleshooting Causes Solutions The indicator blinks rapidly.• Polarity reversal• Battery voltage is too high• Check that the clamps are properly connected. • Check that it is a 12V battery. The indicator blinks slowly.Battery is faulty or has a very low voltage.Change the battery. The indicator is on.• Charge failure, battery non recove-rable.• Thermal protection.• Change the battery and restart a charge.• Ambient temperature is too high (>50°C), cool the room and let the charger cool down. The indicator blinks.Charger in sleep mode.Connect a battery to the charger to exit sleep mode. WARRANTY The warranty covers faulty workmanship for 2 years from the date of purchase (parts and labour). The warranty does not cover:
  • Damages due to misuse (power supply error, dropping of equipment, disassembling).
  • Environment related failures (pollution, rust, dust). In case of failure, return the unit to your distributor together with: - The proof of purchase (receipt etc ...) - A description of the fault reported10 GYSFLASH 1.12 LITHIUM
