This product must be kept out of the reach of children. This product may be used by children age 14 years and up, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or lacking experience and / or knowledge, so long as they are supervised or instructed in the safe use of the product and understand the associated risks. Children should not be allowed to play with the product. Cleaning and user31 GB/IE maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision. Do not use the product if you detect any kind of damage. Always switch off the product, when storing it in dark environ- ment, in order not to discharge the rechargeable battery. The illuminant is not replaceable. If the illuminant fails at the end of its life, the entire product must be replaced. This product is not a toy. Product-specific safety instructions Make sure that the solar cell is free of dirt and free of snow and ice in winter. Otherwise the performance of the solar cell will diminish. Cold temperatures have a negative influence on the operating life of the rechargeable battery. If the product is not going to be used for a long time, e.g. in winter, it should be taken up, cleaned and stored in a dry, warm room.32 GB/IE Safety instructions for batteries / rechargeable batteries DANGER TO LIFE! Keep batteries / rechargeable batteries out of reach of children. If accidentally swallowed seek imme- diate medical attention. Swallowing may lead to burns, perforation of soft tissue, and death. Severe burns can occur within 2 hours of ingestion. DANGER OF EXPLOSION! Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Do not short-circuit bat- teries / rechargeable batteries and / or open them. Overheating, fire or bursting can be the result. Never throw batteries / rechargeable batteries into fire or water. Do not exert mechanical loads to batteries / rechargeable bat- teries. Risk of leakage of batteries / rechargeable batteries Avoid extreme environmental conditions and temperatures, which could affect batteries / rechargeable batteries, e.g. radiators / direct sunlight.33 GB/IE If batteries / rechargeable batteries have leaked, avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes with the chemicals! Flush immediately the affected areas with fresh water and seek medical attention! WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES! Leaked or dam- aged batteries / rechargeable batteries can cause burns on contact with the skin. Wear suitable pro- tective gloves at all times if such an event occurs. In the event of a leakage of batteries / rechargeable batteries, immediately remove them from the product to prevent damage. Only use the same type of batteries / rechargeable batteries. Do not mix used and new batteries / rechargeable batteries. Remove batteries / rechargeable batteries if the product will not be used for a longer period. Risk of damage of the product Only use the specified type of battery / rechargeable battery! Insert batteries / rechargeable batteries according to polarity marks (+) and (-) on the battery / rechargeable battery and the product.34 GB/IE Use a dry lint-free cloth or cotton swab to clean the contacts on the battery / rechargeable battery and in the battery com- partment before inserting! Remove exhausted batteries / rechargeable batteries from the product immediately. Functioning The solar cell installed in the product converts sunlight into electrical energy and stores it in 1 Ni-MH rechargeable battery. Switch on the product with the ON / OFF button (HG05660A) / ON / OFF switch (HG05660B / HG05660C)

. The product will automati- cally light on as it begins to get dark. The built-in light-emitting diod

are a very long-life and energy-saving light source. The light duration depends on the amount of sunlight, the angle of light on the solar cell and the temperature (the battery capacity is temperature-depe ndent). A vertical angle of light at temperatures above the freezing point is ideal. The rechargeable battery does not achieve maximum capacity until after several charge and discharge cycles. In summer a completely drained rechargeable battery takes about 2 to 4 days to fully recharge in constant sunlight.35 GB/IE Preparing for use Note: Remove all packaging material before first use. Preparing the product For HG05660A: First connect the parts of the fan blades

. Place the axle cap

to secure all parts (see fig. B). For HG05660B: Your product is ready for use. The beacon

will turns in the dark. For HG05660C: Mount the lamp

as shown in Figure A. Bend the holder then install the lamp

the product (see fig. B). Your product is ready for use.36 GB/IE Setting up the product Do not put the product directly on the ground, so that no rain penetrates during rainfall! Make sure that the product does not pose a stumbling hazard. In order to achieve the best result, set the product up in a place where the solar cell will get direct sunlight for as long as possible. Make sure that the solar cell is not influenced by any other source of light such as yard or street lighting as otherwise the light will not come on in twilight. The product automatically switches on in twilight conditions and off again when normal outdoor lighting conditions return. Switching the product on and off For HG05660A: Press the ON / OFF button

to turn on the product automati- cally when it is dark. Press the ON / OFF button

again to completely switch off the product.37 GB/IE For HG05660B: The ON / OFF switch

to the OFF position to completely turn off the product. For HG05660C: Open the lantern

to ON position to turn on the product automatically when it is dark. Slide the ON / OFF switch

to the OFF position to completely turn off the product. Replacing the rechargeable battery The rechargeable battery should be replaced every 12 months to ensure optimum performance.

1. For HG05660A: Turn the product upside down. Press the

to switch off the product. Loosen the fastening screws

by using a small cross head screwdriver38 GB/IE and then lever out the rechargeable battery compartment cover

with the help of a slot screwdriver.

2. For HG05660B: Rotate the solar housing anticlockwise out of

the housing. The solar unit with two cables is connected to the housing. Be careful not to damage the cables. Carefully loosen the fastening screws

by using a small cross head screwdriver under the head of lighthouse

and lift the head of lighthouse

Rotate the solar housing anticlockwise out of the housing. Loosen the fastening screws

by using a small cross head screwdriver and then lever out the rechargeable battery com- partment cover

with the help of a slot screwdriver.

4. Exchange the old rechargeable battery

to a new one, ensure that you do not damage the wiring. Take care to the correct polarity, when inserting the new rechargeable battery. The polarity is indicated in the battery compartment

. The new rechargeable battery has to have the same technical data like the old one.

5. Now again fasten the rechargeable battery compartment

and install back the product.39 GB/IE For HG05660A: Make sure the rechargeable battery com- partment cover

are correct installed. Press the ON / OFF button

to turn on the product automatically when it is dark. For HG05660B / HG05660C: Slide the ON / OFF switch

to the ON position to automatically turn on the product in the dark. Charging the rechargeable battery Note that the product must be switched on when the rechargeable battery is charging. The charging time of the rechargeable battery when the solar cell is used depends on the intensity of the sunlight and the angle of incidence of the light on the solar cell. Place the solar cell as perpendicular as possible to the angle of incidence of the light. In this way you will receive the highest light levels. Maintenance and care The light-emitting diodes cannot be replaced. The product is mainte- nance-free, except for any necessary change of rechargeable battery.40 GB/IE Clean the product regularly with a dry, lint-free cloth. Use a slightly dampened cloth to remove more stubborn dirt. Regular cleaning of the solar panel to achieve the best result. Troubleshooting Note: This product has delicate electronic components. This means that if it is placed near an object that transmits radio signals, it could cause interference. If you notice that the product is malfunctioning, remove any sources of interference from the area of the product. Note: Electrostatic discharges may cause product to malfunction. In the event of such malfunctions, remove the rechargeable battery briefly and reinsert it. Error Cause Solution The light will not switch on even though the sun shone on the product all day. Artificial sources of light, e.g. street lighting, are inter- fering with the product. Mount the product in a place where it can- not be disturbed by other sources of light.41 GB/IE Error Cause Solution The light does not come on or comes on only briefly. The rechargeable battery is broken or there was not enough daylight. Replace the recharge- able battery or mount the product in a pla
