How to pair my phone with the TouringL via Bluetooth?
Press the Bluetooth button until the display shows PAIRING. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and select TOURING L. If a PIN code is requested, enter 0000.
Why won't my TouringL turn on?
If the display shows LOW BATT, the battery is discharged. Plug in the AC adapter, wait a few minutes then turn on the device. If nothing displays, the battery may be completely empty.
How to save a station as a preset?
Select the desired station, then press and hold PRESET. Use the ◀/▶ keys to choose the number (1 to 6) and press and hold again to confirm.
How to start a scan for DAB stations?
In DAB mode, hold down the or key until SCAN appears. The scan starts automatically and saves the found stations.
The volume is limited to 50, what to do?
This is normal when the battery is low. Recharge the device to restore full volume. You can continue listening at reduced volume for a few minutes.
How to connect a non-Bluetooth device?
Use a 3.5 mm stereo audio cable. Plug it into the LINE IN jack on the back of the TouringL and into the headphone output of your device. LINE IN mode activates automatically.
What to do if the display shows 'NO DAB SERVICE'?
Fully extend the telescopic antenna and place it high, near a window. Restart a scan (hold ◀ or ▶). Make sure you are in an area covered by DAB.
How to know if the battery is charging?
A small dot blinks at the bottom right of the display. When the charger is plugged in, CHARGE appears. The dot turns off when the battery is full.
The TouringL turns off by itself, is that normal?
Yes, after a few minutes of inactivity, the device automatically turns off to save battery. You can turn it back on by turning the volume knob.

GETTING STARTED

Charging the Battery

Plug the power adapter cord into your TOURING L For maximum battery life, charge the battery for at least 8 hours continuously before using your TOURING L for the first time.

Turning the Unit On

Rotate the volume knob clockwise until you hear a 'click'. When the TOURING L is powered for the first time, the display will show 'Welcome to GENEVA'.

OVERVIEW

You can play music from the following sources: • FM radio. • DAB radio. • Mobile phone or computer via Bluetooth. • Other devices with a line-in cable.

USING TOURING L

FM Radio

  1. Press FM the display shows "FM" and a frequency, for example "103.2".
  2. Select an FM station with 📋 and : ▶ • Use a single touch: change frequency by 0.1MHz. • Hold down for a short time: automatically search for the next or previous station.

  3. After a few seconds the display will show the RDS information.

DAB / DAB+

  1. Press until the display shows "DAB/DAB+".

  2. Select a DAB station with and . TOURING L is compatible with DAB, DAB+, DMR and DMB.

When using your TOURING L for the first time, the radio needs to find available radio stations in your region (a scan function). After a SCAN, the stations will be automatically stored.

- Hold down the button until "SCAN" displays. The indication will blink for a few seconds, then the display will confirm that the first station has been found.

"SCAN" is also needed after traveling to a new location that provides different radio stations, or when you move the radio to a different room with a different radio reception.

Presets

You can save six FM stations plus six DAB stations. To save a preset:

  1. Select the station you want to save.

  2. Long press prevent the display shows "PRESET 1" as blinking.

  3. If you want to save using a different PRESET number, press PRESET again and select the desired number.

  4. After, long press preserve the station.

To recall a preset:

  1. Short press prethe display will show the first saved preset. If a saved

station is playing, the display will show the next saved preset.

  1. If you want to recall a different station, press pregain.

  2. Wait two seconds and the unit will play the selected preset station.

Line-in

To connect a source device to your TOURING L, you need a stereo audio cable with 3.5mm jack plug connector.

  1. Connect the cable to the audio source device (headphone or line-out plug).

  2. Connect the other end of the cable to the line-in socket on the back of the TOURING L. The unit will automatically change mode to LINE IN.

  3. By disconnecting the cable from TOURING L, the unit will return to the previously selected mode.

Bluetooth

Mobile phones and computers with Bluetooth can connect to the TOURING L and play music. The mobile phone or computer must support Bluetooth A2DP.

Initial set-up ("pairing"):

  1. Press the * key. The display will show "BLUE". Wait for 20 seconds until the display shows "PAIRING" as blinking.

  2. Select "settings" on your mobile phone. Select "GeneralBluetooth". Turn on Bluetooth. New Bluetooth devices are discovered automatically (on some devices you will need to press 'scan').

  3. After a few seconds, "TOURING L" will appear.

  4. Select "TOURING L". The mobile phone is now connecting ("pairing") to the TOURING L.

  5. If the mobile phone asks for a PIN, enter "0000" (four zeros).

  6. You can now play music on your mobile phone and listen to it on the TOURING L.

Playing music

Most mobile phones will connect automatically to the TOURING L after initial set-up ("pairling").

  1. Be sure the Bluetooth setting on your mobile phone is ON.

  2. Press the Key. The display will show "BLUE", then will show "SEARCH", as blinking.

  3. After a few seconds, TOURING L will automatically connect to your mobile phone. The display will show 'CONNECT'.

  4. Play music on the mobile phone and the music will start playing on the TOURING L automatically after a few seconds.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Why is my mobile phone not connecting?

You will find more detailed information on various mobile phones on our support pages at www.genevalab.com.

The TOURING L will not turn on, and the display shows "LOW BATT".

The battery is slow on charge. Connect the power adapter to the TOURING L and the battery will begin charging. You can use the TOURING L while the charger is connected.

The TOURING L will not turn on, and nothing happens.

If the battery is very low, there will not be enough power to even turn on the display. TOURING L can be turned on after it has been

connected for a short while to the power adapter.

Why is the TOURING L turning off after a while?

After a few minutes of inactivity, the device will automatically turn itself off to save battery.

What is the pin for a Bluetooth connection?

The PIN is 0000 (four zeros). Not all computers or mobile phones require a pin code during initial set-up (pairing).

I have an unreliable connection via Bluetooth and there are dropouts.

- Move the mobile phone closer to the TOURING L. - Move or turn off other wireless devices that can disturb a Bluetooth connection (for example Wi-Fi, other mobile phones etc).

How do I know if the battery is charging?

A small dot on the lower right of the display will turn on if the battery is being charged.

When the charger is being connected the display will also show "CHARGE".

How can I check the battery

charge?

A dot on the lower right corner of the display shows the battery status:

• OFF: battery fully charged.

- Blinking: battery is low.

When the battery is low, the volume will automatically be limited to 50. The unit can still play music for some minutes.

If the battery is empty, the display will show "LOW BATT" and TOURING L will automatically turn off.

Display shows 'NO DAB SERVICE' or 'NO DAB SIGNAL'

Extend the antenna. You may have to experiment different positions to find the best reception. Positions higher up or nearer windows may improve reception.
