We owe a huge thank you to our community for joining us on this journey, and we hope that you will continue to be a part of our story.6 7 u-jays User manual English Designed for lasting comfort in everyday use, u-JAYS’ lightweight, silicone-skinned, spring steel headband creates a balanced t and provides a clamping force that minimizes strain on your ears during extended periods of use. The viscoelastic ear cushions conform to the shape of your ears and remain comfortable over time. Together with the headband, they create a tight and tting seal that improves sound quality and limits sound leakage. To create an open and dynamic sound, the earcups and ear cushions have been designed to work together as an acoustic system. Remove the ear cushions from the earcups and you will see vent holes covered with acoustic tuning lters on both parts, evenly distributed 360° around the speaker. This optimizes the air-ow between the two parts, resulting in highly improved details and a deeper bass response. To further enhance the listening experience, u-JAYS has a custom developed 40 mm dynamic silk diaphragm speaker, tailored to deliver rich mids and natural highs. INTRODUCING u-JAYS Congratulations! We wanted to create something different. Something exceptional. This is why one of the rst questions we asked ourselves when beginning to design u-JAYS was: How do we design a pair of authentic-sounding headphones that are also comfortable to use, durable in quality and effortless in style? With those values in mind, we embarked on a two-year journey in developing u-JAYS through countless iterations of redesign, re-engineering and renements, to ensure that the pair of headphones you hold in your hands now are nothing less than what we set out to create. u-JAYS has been built to last — an evergreen, highlight quality in all of JAYS products. Core parts of its construction are made in metal for additional strength; its wires are fully integrated. u-JAYS is also designed with exchangeable ear cushions and cable for easy upgrading and replacement over time. Included with every u-JAYS is a full-feature (iWA) three-button remote cable made and individually optimized for iOS, Windows or Android. At JAYS, durability extends beyond construction and materials; it also speaks to the durability of the appearance itself. Best regards, JAYS8 9 u-jays User manual English Attaching the ear cushions To attach the ear cushions to the earcups, align the threading and insert the earcups into the ear cushions. Turn the ear cushions clockwise until you feel a distinct click, which indicates that they are in a secure and sealed position. To remove the ear cushions, simply reverse the sequence of the steps described above. CONTENTS

• Avoid exposure to extreme conditions such as very cold or hot temperatures, magnetic elds or damp environments.

• Always protect your headphones from dust and debris by storing them inside the dust bag when not in use.

• Do not subject the cables or connectors to abnormal wear and tear, e.g. by bending or pulling them.

• Regularly clean the product by using a soft cloth moistened with warm water.

• Avoid dropping or causing other unusual impact to the product.

• Do not expose headband, shackles or other parts to abnormal bending, pulling or twisting. UNBOXING The u-JAYS packaging is designed to carefully protect all items that come included in the box. If you notice anything strange upon opening, please don’t hesitate to contact your reseller. We recommend that you retain the box for future storage. GETTING STARTED

• After unboxing, start by assembling ear cushions and cable. Both ear cushions are identical and can be assembled on either side.

• To ensure you experience the correct stereo image, please follow the right and left side index marks on the inside of the headband.

• The cable should be assembled with the three- button remote close to the earcup and not the other direction.

• u-JAYS dynamic speakers need around 20 hours of initial burn-in playback time to reach their full performance capability.10 11 u-jays User manual English Attaching the cable To attach the cable to the headphones, push the connector into the jack located on the right side earcup until it is fully connected. No locking or turning is required. When removing the cable, always pull the hard plug and avoid touching the metal part of the connector when possible to keep them clean for best performance. For better durability, avoid removing by directly pulling the soft cable. USING YOUR u-JAYS Connecting to an audio source Please note that you should always turn the volume down on the audio source before connecting your headphones. Listening to music The u-JAYS are closed on-ear headphones designed to give you the full detail spectrum of your music. To extract the full potential of your headphones, use media made from the nest audio sources. For best digital performance, we recommend 320Kbit/s or higher quality les. Even though the u-JAYS are suitable for a variety of environments where you are likely to be disturbed by ambient noise, e.g. in airplanes, on trains, on the subway, at the gym or when running, the details will always appear richer and more prominently when used in quieter areas and surroundings with less external interferences. The three-button remote Depending on your choice of u-JAYS model, the three-button remote included has been individually developed specically for each platform: iOS, Windows or Android. The three-button remote houses a high quality 360-degree MEMS microphone that optimizes speech quality, with built-in echo cancellation that improves communication in nearly all situations. The concave/convex remote buttons have been designed for better grip and ergonomics, making u-JAYS effortlessly comfortable for everyday use. The dust bag included ensures that your headphones are protected from scratches, dust and moisture. Cleaning Remember to clean your headphones regularly using a soft cloth moistened with warm water. Never use cleaning detergent, leather polish or other substances as they may damage your u-JAYS permanently. Trafc Never use u-JAYS while driving, jogging or walking through trafc areas. Headphones effectively isolate external noise, which means that when in use, you might not be able to hear your surroundings. We would like to remind you that listening to music can distract you from your environment, increasing the risk of accidents occurring.12 13 u-jays User manual English Your hearing Listening to music at high volume for prolonged periods of time can cause permanent damage to your hearing. u-JAYS is a powerful audio equipment and we advise CERTIFICATIONS The aim of EU’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directives 2002/96/EC and the RoHS directive is to reduce waste from electric and electronic products and to recycle as much of the materials as possible. Any remaining waste should be virtually risk-free to handle and the risk of hazardous emissions should be minimal.

MANUFACTURER’S LIMITED WARRANTY

Your original Jays AB product is covered by a warranty of twenty-four (24) months from the date of purchase of a brand new, unused Jays AB product by the original purchaser. Jays AB guarantees that the product is free from faults in the materials, design and workmanship when it was sold to the purchaser. If you are not able to submit the receipt when making a warranty claim you may be obliged to pay for any repairs carried out. Proof of purchase must clearly state the date of purchase, name of the product and authorized resellers’ details.

LIMITED WARRANTY PERIOD

The product may include different parts and they may have different Warranty Periods. The different Warranty Periods for this product are:

• Twenty-four (24) months on the earphones and remote external shells, internal components, connectors and cables.

• Six (6) months on accessories. The Warranty Period cannot be extended or renewed due to subsequent resale or replacement of the product. This Limited Warranty does not affect your legal rights under your applicable national laws relating to the sale of consumer electronic products. Defective parts replaced within the Limited Warranty Claim shall become the property of Jays AB. What is not covered by the limited warranty?

• Faults caused by wear and tear, accident, dropping, mechanical damage, moisture, chemical products, abnormal impact damage or force majeure.
