WARNING Read all safety warnings, instructions, gures and specications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, re and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

a) Keep the work area clean and well illuminated. Cluttered or dark areas may cause accidents. b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of ammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks that can ignite dust or fumes. c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can make you lose control of the tool.

2. Electrical safety

a) Power tool plugs must match the socket. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed power tools. Unmodied plugs and matching sockets will reduce the risk of electric shock. b) Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, stoves and refrigerators. There is a higher risk of electric shock if your body is in touch with grounded surfaces. c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Leaving a wrench or a key attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury. e) Do not overstretch yourself. Always keep your feet rmly on the ground and maintain a proper balance. This will provide better control of the power tool in unexpected situations. f) Wear appropriate clothes. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can get caught in moving parts. g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Dust vacuuming can reduce dust-related hazards. h) The condence gained from frequent use of tools should not be a reason for ignoring general safety principles. A careless action can cause serious injury within a fraction of a second.

4. Power tool use and maintenance

a) Do not force the power tool. Use the appropriate power tool for the required application. The proper power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and o. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired. c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/ or remove the battery pack, if detachable, from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories or storing it. These preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally. d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow people unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate it. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to jam and are easier to handle. g) Use the power tool according to these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be carried out. 5. Battery tool use and maintenance

a) Only recharge with the charger specied by the manufacturer. A charger suitable for one type of battery may create a re hazard if used with another type of battery. b) Use power tools only with specically designated battery packs. Use of any other type of battery packs may create a risk of injury and re. c) When the battery is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, such as paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, which can establish a connection from one terminal to another. A short circuit between the battery terminals may cause burns or re. d) Under harsh conditions, liquid may leak from the battery; avoid touching it. In case of accidental contact, rinse the aected part with water. If the liquid comes into contact with eyes, seek additional medical assistance immediately. Liquid leaking from the battery may cause skin irritation or burns. e) Do not use a damaged or modied battery pack or tool. Damaged or modied batteries may show unpredictable behaviours leading to re, explosion or risk of injury. f) Do not expose a battery pack or tool to re or excessive temperatures. Exposure to re or temperatures above 130 °C may cause an explosion. g) Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery or the tool outside the temperature range specied in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside the specied range may damage the battery and increase the risk of re.

Use a soft brush to clean dust from the cutting head. - Do not immerse the pruning shears, battery or charger in water or any other liquid. - Use the tool in accordance with the instructions for use. Do not use the pruning shears, battery or charger if they are damaged. - Do not use the tool if the power switch does not work properly. If this happens, please contact the ocial Cecotec Technical Support Service. Using the pruning shears in these conditions is dangerous. - Make sure the switch is in the o position when adjusting, changing accessories or storing the tool. This will reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally. - Be sure to lock the cutting head when the pruning shears are not in use and keep the tool out of the reach of children. Do not allow people who are unfamiliar with the operation of the pruning shears or who do not understand these instructions to handle the tool, as it can be dangerous. - When using the pruning shears and its accessories, follow the operating instructions in the manual and take into account the working environment and the nature of the tasks to be carried out. The use of the pruning shears in any activity that does not meet the specied requirements may pose a hazard. - After each use, clean the blades thoroughly and apply lubricating oil between the cutting blade and the counter- blade. This will ensure that the blades remain in good condition and reduce resistance during use, extending the lifespan of the tool and the cutting head. Battery use and maintenance - Do not charge the battery if the room temperature is below 0 ºC or above 45 ºC. - Leaks from the battery or cells can occur under extreme conditions. Do not touch any liquid that leaks from the battery. If the liquid gets into contact with skin, wash immediately with soap and water. If the liquid gets into the eyes, wash them immediately with clean water for a minimum of 10 minutes and seek medical attention. - Never modify the battery in any way. Do not attempt to open the battery. - Non-rechargeable batteries must not be recharged. - The battery must be inserted in the correct position. - Do not pierce the battery with nails or hit it with a hammer. Do not step on it or throw it to the ground. - Do not use the battery if it is damaged or deformed. - Do not weld directly on the battery. - Do not connect the battery to public sockets or to the car cigarette lighter socket. - Do not use the battery in other devices. - Do not touch the lithium cells of the battery directly. - Do not use the battery in places where there is static electricity (above 64 V). - Do not use the battery if it shows signs of corrosion, gives o an unpleasant odour or has an unusual appearance. - WARNING: to recharge the battery, use only the power supply unit provided with the tool, with reference JC21V. Irregularity measures - If you accidentally attempt to cut objects such as metal, release the trigger immediately and the blade will automatically return to the unlocked position. - In case the pruning shears get jammed when trying to cut a branch that is too hard or too thick, release the trigger immediately and the blade will automatically return to the unlocked position. - If the battery does not charge correctly, please check that the charger used is the one provided with the tool. Then make sure that the supply voltage is the same as the voltage specied on the charger. - In the event of an electrical or mechanical fault, switch o the tool immediately. 8. Battery release button

NOTE: The graphics in this manual are schematic representations and may not exactly match the product.

– This appliance is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the appliance out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place to prevent damage to the appliance if you need to transport it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly. – Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If there is any piece missing or in bad conditions, contact the ocial Cecotec Technical Support Service immediately. Box content – Battery – Charger – Battery-powered pruning shears – Tool kit – Lubricating oil – Do not remove the serial number of the appliance in order to keep a correct traceability of it in case of assistance. – Make sure that the battery is fully charged before each use. – Switch o the pruning shears before carrying out any maintenance operation. Do not forget to do this when sharpening or lubricating the blades. – Check the tension of the blades before each use.

Before use – Check that the battery is fully charged. – Disconnect the cord and power source when the tool is not in use, especially during maintenance, sharpening or blade replacement. – Check the rmness of the blades before using the tool. A properly tensed blade will not move sideways. If the tension is correct, the pruning shears will be very easy to handle when cutting. Operating instructions

1. Place the battery in the battery compartment as shown in gure 2.

2. Place the switch in the on position and press the trigger twice to activate the pruning

shears. – Before using the tool, press the trigger several times without cutting anything to check that it works properly. Once this has been checked, you can use the pruning shears normally.

3. To make a cut, press the trigger to close the blade and release it to open it.

– Press and hold the trigger to close the blade. When doing so, the tool will beep. – If the pruning shears are not connected to the control box and use the USB interface to charge devices, the tool will beep continuously. Storage

1. Press and hold the trigger; the tool will beep.

2. Place the switch in the o position, make sure that the blades remain closed.

3. Clean and store the tool.

2. Place the power switch in the on position.

3. Press the trigger three times in a row.

4. The pruning shears blades will open.

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Blade lubrication Fig. 3 – Before doing this, make sure that the tool is switched o. – In a day’s work, the blades must be lubricated at least twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. The correct way to lubricate the pruning shears is to unlock the blades and follow the following steps:

1. There is a lubrication opening in the blade pin at the back of the pruning shears. Remove

the oil cotton wool inside.

2. Pour the lubricating oil from the bottle into the oil ller opening and place the oil cotton

3. Press the trigger several times to open and close the pruning shears and distribute the

lubricating oil evenly. Blade tension adjustment Fig. 4 – Before doing this, make sure that the tool is switched o. – Check the tension of the blades every day before each use. A properly tensed blade will not move sideways. If the tension is correct, the pruning shears will be very easy to handle when cutting.

1. Loosen the screw by turning it counterclockwise with a hex spanner, as shown in gure 4,

2. Use the hex spanner to adjust the lock nut, neither too loose nor too tight, as shown in

3. Retighten the screw as shown in gure 4 and check the blade lock following the normal

procedure. Note: When the blade is closed, it must not move sideways. If it does, adjust the tension of the blades. This gap between both blades will lead to an incorrect meshing of the teeth and damage the mechanical structure. Blade replacement Fig. 5 Before doing this, make sure that the tool is switched o and remove the battery.

1. Use the screwdriver to remove the pruning shears cover.

2. Use a hex socket wrench to remove the screw and washer holding the blades.

Warning: do not use chemical products.

5. Place the new blade on the pruning shears in the same position as it was.

6. Fit the resistance washer, then screw on and adjust the tension of the locked screw nut

until you hear a click.

7. Fit the washer onto the screw and tighten it.

8. If necessary, lubricate the blades as described in the previous section.

9. Place the cover on the pruning shears and tighten both screws.

The tool does not require any maintenance other than the one described previously. If you detect any malfunction, do not attempt to repair the tool yourself and contact the ocial Cecotec Technical Support Service.

7. DISPOSAL OF OLD ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC APPLIANCES
