USER MANUAL Titan Pro MAXI-COSI

This car seat is installed by connecting the two ISOFIX connectors and webbing “TOP TETHER” in the anchorage ISOFIX points of the vehicle.

Consult the “Car Fitting List” (list of compatible vehicles) provided with the seat to check the compatibility between the car seat and the vehicle. An updated list is available on the website www.maxi-cosi.com

• All Maxi-Cosi products have been carefully designed and tested for your baby’s safety and comfort. Use only accessories sold or approved by Maxi-Cosi. Using other accessories may prove to be dangerous.

• You are personally responsible for the safety of your child at all times, please read these instruc- tions carefully and make yourself familiar with the product before using it.

• Always keep the instructions for future reference; there is a storage compartment specifically provided on the child seat.

• The Titan Pro is intended for car use only.

• Do not use second-hand products whose history is unknown. Some parts could be broken, torn or missing.

• Do not use any load bearing contact points other than those described in the instructions and marked in the child restraint.

• Replace the Titan Pro when it has been subject of violent stresses in an accident: it is not optimal safety for your child.

Do not make any changes to the car seat whatsoever, as this could lead to unsafe situations. The Titan Pro car seat in the car:

• Before buying this product make sure the car seat is compatible with the vehicle it is to be used in.

• Before using the ISOFIX anchorage system, you must IMPERATIVELY read the instruction manual of the vehicle, before installing your child car seat. This manual will indicate the places compatible with the class size of the car seat, Universal ISOFIX approved.

• Universal ISOFIX in forward facing position, class size B1.

• Before installing your child car seat with the ISOFIX anchorages system you must read the instruction manual of the vehicle. This manual will indicate the places compatibles with the class size of the car seats.

• Check to make sure the headrest is adjusted to the proper height.

• Ensure that the straps under the stomach lie as low as possible, to properly support the pelvis.

• Do not use the child restraint device without the cover. Do not replace the seat cover with any other than the one recommended by the manufacturer, because it will have a direct eect on the functioning of the car seat.

• The temperature inside a vehicle may become very high, particularly after a long period of expo- sure to the sun. It is strongly recommended, under such conditions, to cover the seat of the car with a piece of material or something equivalent to prevent the harness fixings, and in particular the metal parts, from becoming hot and burning the child. ATTENTION: In ISOFIX use the fitting clips for lower anchorage to the vehicle are not sucient. It is essential to fix the “TOP TETHER” to the upper anchorage point recommended by the car manufacturer. Fitting the Titan Pro seat with additional tethers using the vehicle’s ISOFIX additional anchorage points. The ISOFIX anchors have been developed to obtain a safe and easy fixation of the child safety systems inside the car. Not all cars are equipped with these anchors although they are standard on more recent models. Consult the attached list of cars for which the car seat can be installed cor- rectly (you can also consult additional updates of this list on the website www.maxi-cosi.com).

• In forward facing position, the seat must be placed on the car rear seat or exceptionally on the front seat in accordance with the legislation in force in the country of use (In France: in accord- ance with the conditions stipulated in decree n° 91-1321 du 27-12-1991).If you use the Titan Pro on the front seat, it is recommented to deactivate the airbag of the seat in question and move the passenger seat back to a maximum (Please consult your car manual).

• When installing the car seat, it is necessary to remove the headrest in order to put the TOP TETHER through correctly.

• Recommend adjust to full recline position before ISOFIX system installation. After well-install ISOFIX connector and top tether, adjust to proper recline position for child.

• The Maxi-Cosi Titan Pro has been approved in accordance with the latest European safety stand- ards (ECE R44/04) and is suitable for children from 9 to 36 kg.

• The Maxi-Cosi Titan Pro must be installed with ISOFIX and Top Tether when your child’s weight is form 9kg to 18 kg. You can use vehicle belt only, or vehicle belt and ISOGO, or vehicle belt and ISOGO and Top Tether to install the Titan Pro car seat when you child’s weight is 15-36 kg.

• Make sure the fold-down rear seat is locked into position.

• Make sure that any luggage and other objects liable to cause injuries in the event of a collision shall be properly secure.

• Make sure the straps holding the carseat to the vehicle are tight.

When the car seat is installed on the front passenger seat, we recommand to switch o the front passenger airbag if your child is sitting in a front-facing position and place the passenger seat in the rearmost position. Baby in the Titan Pro car seat :

• Never leave your child unattended.

• For your own safety and the one of your child always put the child in the car seat and fasten him however short your journey may be.

• Use the Maxi-Cosi Titan Pro only on a front-facing seat that is fitted with an automatic or static 3-point belt that has been approved according to the ECE R16 standard or similar. Do NOT use a 2-point belt.

• After putting the child in the car seat, ensure that the harness is suciently tight by pulling the belt. Before every use, make sure the harness is not damaged or twisted.

• Make sure you can fit no more than one finger between the harnesses and your child (1cm). If ENEN60 61

• Keep the car seat clean. Do not use lubricants or aggressive cleaning agents. Shell:

• Clean the shell using a damp cloth. ENVIRONMENT Keep plastic covering away from children to avoid suocation. For environmental reasons, when you have stopped using this product, we ask that you dispose of the product in the proper waste facilities in accordance with local legislation. When doing so please have the following information at hand: - Serial number; - Make and type of car and seat on which the Titan Pro is used; - Age, height and weight of your child. WARRANTY Our 24 months warranty refl ects our confi dence in the high quality of our design, engineering, production and product performance. We confi rm that this product was manufactured in accord- ance with the current European safety requirements and quality standards which are applicable to this product, and that this product is free from defects on materials and workmanship at the time of purchase. Under the conditions mentioned herein, this warranty may be invoked by consumers in the countries where this product has been sold by a subsidiary of the Dorel Group or by an authorized dealer or retailer.

• Warning: when installing the car seat, spaces between the base of the car seat and the vehicle seat are possible depending on the position of the anchorage points within the vehicle.

• The rigid parts and the plastic sections of a child restraint device should be positioned and in- stalled in such a way that they cannot, when the vehicle is being used under normal conditions, become trapped under a moving seat or in the vehicle door.

• Never modify the construction or the materials of the car seat and the seat belt without consulting the manufacturer.

• This child restraint is eective only if the instructions for use are respected.

• Always fasten the child restraint even when the child is not sitting in it.

• Never place heavy objects on the rear parcel shelf, to avoid the danger of projectiles in the event of an accident.

• Always check that no part of the seat or the harness is trapped under a seat or in the vehicle door.

• If in any doubt about the correct installation or use of the system, the user is advised to contact the distributor or the manufacturer of the child restraining device system. CARE Inlay:

• The inlay included in your Titan Pro seat plays an integral part in the eciency of the restraint system for your child from 9 to 13 kg. It can be removed and the cover taken o for washing, but it is essential to place it back again where it belongs and only use this ocial Maxi-Cosi Titan Pro inlay. This inlay is exclusively for use with the Titan Pro seat. Fabric:

• The cover, the shoulder pads and the crotch pad can be removed for washing. If the cover needs to be replaced at any time, only use ocial Maxi-Cosi cover because it constitutes an integral part of the restraint performance.

• Before cleaning check the label sewn into the various parts of the fabric, you will find the wash- ing symbols indicating the method of washing each item. ENEN62 63 Rights of the consumer: A consumer has legal rights pursuant to applicable consumer legislation, which may vary from country to country. The rights of the consumer under applicable national legislation are not af- fected by this warranty. Lifetime Warranty: Under the terms and conditions published on our website www.maxi-cosi.com/lifetimewarranty we oer a voluntary manufacturer’s Lifetime Warranty to first users. To claim this Lifetime War- ranty you need to register on our website. This warranty is provided by Dorel Netherlands. We are registered in The Netherlands under com- pany number 17060920. Our 24 months warranty covers all manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship when used in normal conditions and in accordance with our user manual for a period of 24 months from the date of the original retail purchase by the fi rst end-user cus- tomer. To request repairs or spare parts under our warranty for defects in materials and workman- ship you must present your proof of purchase, made within the 24 months preceding the service request. Our 24 months warranty does not apply to defects caused by normal wear and tear, damage caused by accidents, abusive use, negligence, fi re, liquid contact or other external cause, damage which is the consequence of failing to comply with the user manual, damage caused by use with another product, damage caused by service by anyone who is not authorized by us, or if the prod- uct is stolen or if any label or identification number has been removed from the product or has been changed. Examples of normal wear and tear include wheels and fabric worn down by regular use and the natural breakdown of colors and materials due to normal aging of the product. What to do in case of defects: Should problems or defects arise, your first point of contact is the authorized dealer or retailer recognized by us. Our 24 months warranty is recognized by them(1). You must present your proof of purchase, made within the 24 months preceding the service request. It is easiest if you get your service request pre-approved by us. If you submit a valid claim under this warranty, we may request that you return your product to the authorized dealer or retailer recognized by us or that you ship the product to us in accordance with our instructions.
