2 Safety guidelines
Certain groups of people
This appliance may only be operated by children over the age of 8 and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities or a lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed about the safe use of the appliance and are aware of the risks associated with its use.
- Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children without supervision.
Children must not play with the appliance.
- Keep children under the age of 8 away from the appliance and the USB cable as long as the appliance is switched on or connected to the socket or cooling down.
The packaging material must not be used for playing. It presents a suffocation risk.
Power supply
The appliance is charged with electrical current. Thus, there is a risk of electric shock.
Therefore:
Check the appliance for possible damage before use. Never operate a defective appliance.
Never handle the USB cable with wet hands.
Never immerse the window cleaner or the USB cable in water or other liquids.
Make sure that the USB cable is not kinked or pinched or comes into contact with sources of heat.
SAFETY GUIDELINES
Check the USB cable for possible damage before use. Never use a defective USB cable or a defective adapter.
Check charging specifications and USB type of adapter (not included in scope of delivery) before charging. The charging voltage must be 5V DC and at least 1 A. The appliance is operated with low voltage.
Before cleaning or servicing the window cleaner, make sure that the USB cable is not connected.
Rechargeable battery
Improper handling of rechargeable batteries poses a danger of injury. Therefore:
Never expose the rechargeable battery to high temperatures.
To charge the rechargeable battery, use only the USB cable provided and a suitable adapter ("1 Technical data" on page 18).
Do not remove or replace the rechargeable battery yourself.
Window cleaning agent and spray jet
Never aim the spray jet at people. Never look into the nozzle.
- Never aim the spray jet at the inside of ovens or objects containing electrical components, e.g. sockets.
The spray jet must always be aimed downwards towards the surface to be cleaned.
- Keep the window cleaning agent out of reach of children. Swallowing presents a danger of poisoning!
The cleaning agent used must be specifically suited for use in a window cleaner. Never use cleaning agents containing alcohol or solvents (thinner, petrol, acetone), strong acidic or strong alkaline cleaners or any other aggressive cleaner such as waxes, finishes or scouring agents.
Do not use foaming cleaners.
- Follow the dosage and usage instructions on the packaging of the window cleaning agent.
Intended use
The appliance must only be used domestically. It is not suitable for commercial use.
Use the window cleaner only to clean lightly soiled, dampened windows, mirrors, shower cubicles, tiles, etc. Any other use is considered improper and is prohibited.
Heavily soiled surfaces must be pre-cleaned before using the window cleaner.
In particular the following is prohibited:
Use for vacuuming dust, coarse dirt or liquid volumes greater than 100ml
Use outdoors at temperatures around and below the freezing point. The window cleaner may be damaged in the process.
Use near objects and surfaces that are not resistant to liquids. These objects and surfaces may be damaged.
Use if the window cleaner or the USB cable has been immersed in water.
Use on horizontal surfaces.
Performing repairs yourself, e.g. replacing the rechargeable battery.
Use of non-original accessories.
SAFETY GUIDELINES
If the appliance is defective
- Never attempt to repair the appliance or USB cable yourself. To prevent hazards, repairs to the appliance and the USB cable may only be performed by our customer service.
Have a defective appliance repaired by a specialist dealer or customer service (see contact information in appendix to this instruction manual or at www.severin.com).
3 Assembling and charging rechargeable battery
Assembling
- Unpack the appliance and accessories.
- Check the content to make sure it is undamaged and complete. In the event of transport damage or missing parts, immediately contact the dealer.
- Install the cleaning head to the housing of the window cleaner. Turn cleaning head until the marking on the cleaning head and on the housing form a solid line.
- Insert dirty water tank at base of window cleaner.
The dirty water tank clicks into place.
- Attach microfibre pad to spray bottle.

Charging the rechargeable battery

WARNING!
Use only the USB cable provided and a suitable adapter (charging voltage 5 V DC, at least 1000mA ) to charge the rechargeable battery of the window cleaner. There is a risk of fire and explosion!
- Set up window cleaner in a place that meets the following conditions:
flat surface
near a socket
away from sources of heat and moisture
-
Connect micro USB B plug to the socket at the rear of the window cleaner.

Connect USB plug to a suitable adapter (not included in scope of delivery).
NOTE:
USB adapter for socket (not included in scope of delivery):
Output: 5 V DC; minimum 1 A
- Connect adapter to a socket (230 V).
The blue light on the window cleaner flashes during the charging process. - Wait approx. 2.5 hours until the blue light stays on permanently.
WINDOW CLEANING
NOTE:
Ensure complete charge and discharge cycles. This has a positive effect on the service life of the integrated rechargeable battery.
- Disconnect the adapter from the socket and separate USB cable from the window cleaner.
NOTE:
A low battery charge level during operation is indicated by a flashing blue light.

4 Window cleaning
Filling the spray bottle
- Open spray bottle.
- Fill in tap water (maximum 35^ ); do not exceed MAX marking.

CAUTION!
Do not use foaming cleaner. When window cleaner is used for vacuuming, foam can enter the appliance from the dirty water tank and cause damage to the electronics.
NOTE:
It is recommended to add customary window cleaning agent/glass cleaning agent to the tap water. Follow the dosage and usage instructions on the packaging of the window cleaning agent.
- Place suction tube into the spray bottle and close spray bottle.
Dampening and cleaning windows

CAUTION!
More heavily soiled areas or coarse dirt particles must first be soaked and pre-cleaned with other cleaning utensils. Otherwise the window cleaner may become clogged.
- Turn spray nozzle to the desired position: spray jet or atomiser.
- Point spray jet at surface to be cleaned.
- Operate spray button several times to dampen the surface to be cleaned.
- Use the microfibre pad of the spray bottle to soak the surface to be cleaned.
- Switch on the window cleaner.
When the window cleaner is switched on, the blue light lights up.
- Sweep squeezegee across the surface to be cleaned.

CAUTION!
Do not absorb any foam. Foam can enter into the appliance from the dirty water tank and cause damage to the electronics.
- Wipe the squeezee lip with a dry cloth after each sweep.
- Switch off window cleaner.
The blue light goes out.

CAUTION!
Empty the dirty water tank when maximum level (MAX LINE) is reached and after each use ("5 After cleaning windows" on page 26). Otherwise dirty water can enter the window cleaner and cause damage to the electronics.

CAUTION!
Do not use the window cleaner on horizontal surfaces. In this case dirty water can enter into the appliance from the dirty water tank and cause damage to the electronics.
NOTE:
A low battery charge level during operation is indicated by a flashing blue light.

AFTER CLEANING WINDOWS
5 After cleaning windows

WARNING!
Keep the housing of the window cleaner away from water. There is a risk of electric shock!

CAUTION!
Remove and clean the microfibre pad immediately after use, then dry. Otherwise mould and bacteria may form, resulting in a decreased cleaning efficiency of the microfibre pad.

CAUTION!
The spray bottle and the dirty water tank must also be emptied immediately after use. Otherwise there is a risk of water contamination or accidental water leaks during storage.
- Turn spray nozzle to STOP position.
- Remove microfibre pad from the spray bottle, clean and dry (24 hours at room temperature).

CAUTION!
Do not wash the microfibre pad with sensitive fabrics. The hook and loop fastener may cause damage.
NOTE:
The microfibre pad can be washed in the washing machine at 30^
- Empty spray bottle.
- Hold window cleaner upright and press the unlatching buttons on both sides with one hand. Carefully remove the dirty water tank in downward direction.
- Empty dirty water tank above a drain and rinse with tap water if necessary.
- Remove the squeezee lip and clean.
- Unscrew, clean and dry cleaning head.

CAUTION!
None of the components of the window cleaner are dishwasher-safe.
- Allow all previously cleaned components to dry (at least 24 hours at room temperature).

Attach the cleaning head, the squeegee lip and the dirty water tank to window cleaner again.
-
Attach the microfibre pad to the spray bottle again.
- Store window cleaner, spray bottle and USB cable in a dry, cool place and out of the reach of children.

7 Troubleshooting
To avoid problems it is important to empty the dirty water tank in a timely manner and to clean the window cleaner and the accessories after each use, allowing them to dry.
However, if you have a problem with the appliance, use the following table to see whether you can solve the problem yourself.

CAUTION!
Before you begin troubleshooting, switch off the window cleaner. Never use a defective window cleaner or a defective USB cable.

8 Disposal
The appliance and the rechargeable battery must be disposed of separately from domestic waste. The appliance and rechargeable battery contain valuable raw materials that can be recycled. Proper disposal protects the environment and the health of your fellow men. Disposal of the appliance at the appropriate collection locations. The rechargeable battery must be removed by the disposal company and disposed of separately from the appliance. In doing so, the applicable legal regulations on the disposal of batteries must be observed.
The spray bottle and microfibre pad may be disposed of in the domestic waste.
9 Warranty
The legal warranty rights with respect to the seller and any seller warranties are unaffected by the following warranty conditions.
If repair should be necessary, contact our customer service via telephone or e-mail. The contact information can be found in the appendix to this instruction manual.
In case of warranty claim, you can also contact the dealer directly.
In addition, SEVERIN grants a manufacturer's warranty of two years from the date of purchase. During this period, we will eliminate all defects caused by material or production faults that significantly compromise the function free of charge. Other claims are excluded.
Excepted from the warranty are: Damage that is due to non-observation of the instruction manual, improper handling or normal wear; also easily-breakable parts such as glass, plastic or light bulbs as well as batteries and rechargeable batteries.
If the appliance is tampered with by persons not authorised by SEVERIN, this will render the warranty null and void.
