Drive power supply of this unit can be obtained only from the dedicated terminal of EY7881.

This machines is not suitable for picking up hazardous dust.

I. INTENDED USE

This unit is only for drilling concrete. Do not use for drilling metal or wood. And this unit collects a large proportion of the generated dust, but not all of it collects dust not.

II. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING

• Do not block any openings of the main unit or battery charger.

This may result in burn or ignition by overheat.

• Do not expose the skin to hot wind from any openings of the main unit or battery charger.

• Do not collect the following materials.

• Liquids (water, kerosene, petrol, etc.) or substances with liquids.

• Flammable metal powder (aluminum, carbon, magnesium, etc.)
• Hot or burning objects (cigarette butts etc.)
  These may result in fire or explode.
• This unit can be for use only in combination with other than Panasonic Rotary hammer EY7881.
• Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.

CAUTION

1. This unit is not waterproof.
2. Do not use it in damp or wet locations.
3. Do not wash it in water.
4. Keep it in a safe, dry, and clean area when it is not in use.
5. If there is a trouble with this unit, do not disassemble it. Servicing should be performed by an authorized service center.

III. ASSEMBLY

NOTE:

Remove battery pack when attaching or detaching this unit or bit to / from the main unit (Rotary hammer).

Attaching this unit to the main unit (Rotary hammer)

1. Set and fasten the auxiliary handle of the main unit laterally in such a way that it does not hamper installation of this unit.
2. Insert the dust collection system all the way along the rail of the Rotary hammer body.

Adjust the drilling depth (stroke length) [Fig.2]

1. Attach the drill bit to the Rotary hammer (this unit is attached).
2. With stroke limit button (C) pressed, press the Rotary hammer against the wall and press it until the drill bit touches the wall.
3. The position of the nozzle is locked.

Adjust the drilling depth

1. With the depth gauge adjust button (L) pressed, slide the gauge until desire depth.
2. Release your finger from the depth gauge adjust button (L).

IV. OPERATION

Drilling concrete

1. Pull the brush cap (A) a little to the main unit side. Align the tip of the drill bit with the position to drill.

1. Move the brush cap (A) to the concrete surface and bring it into close contact.

NOTE:

If the brush cap (A) is not in close contact with the concrete surface, the dust collection effect will decrease.

1. While keeping the brush cap (A) in close contact with the concrete surface, advance drilling.

Dust collection delay stop

This unit stops its operation delayed for a few seconds after switching off the Rotary hammer main unit in order to collect the dust remaining at the tip to the dust case.

Discard the powder in the dust case

NOTE:

• When the inside of the dust case (H) becomes full, the powder inside may overflow, so please empty the inside of the dust case periodically.
• When cleaning, please do not touch the filter parts. Also, please avoid cleaning with high pressure air or washing in water. The parts may be damaged.
• Keep the Rotary hammer main unit horizontal and operate for a short time. (The remaining powder remaining in the system is drawn into the dust case)
• Hold the lock release button (Dust case) (G) and pull the dust case down from the dust collection system.

• Lightly tap the dust case and throw away the powder inside.

• Fill an empty dust case into this unit.

Remove this unit from the main unit (rotary hammer)

1. Set and fasten the auxiliary handle of the main unit laterally in such a way that it does not hamper removal of this unit.
2. Remove this unit while pressing the lock release button (this unit) (F).

V. MAINTENANCE

Before using

• To make any adjustments, changing accessory, or storing this unit, remove battery pack from this unit.
  To clean this unit, wipe with a dry, soft cloth.

Filter exchange

1. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the groove on the side of the replacement filter and remove the filter frame from the dust case. [Fig.8]
2. After replacing with a new filter, attach the filter frame to the dust case.

Brush cap exchange

When the brush cap wears, the dust collecting effect decreases. When the brush cap wears, please replace it with a new one.

1. Push up the lock release button (Brush cap) (B) on the Rotary hammer side of the tip brush cap and pull it upward from the guide. [Fig.10]
2. Insert a new tip brush cap into the tip of the nozzle and push it until it locks.

How to storage

Insert a new tip brush cap into the tip of the nozzle and push it until it locks.

• Press the stroke limit button and keep the nozzle in the most extended state and keep it. If the nozzle is pushed in or continued, pressing force of the nozzle may become weak. If the nozzle can not be fully extended, please pull out the nozzle by hand. Repeat expansion and contraction to recover.
