Instructions for use
Instructions for use
Before any cleaning or maintenance operation, disconnect the hood from the mains by removing the plug or disconnecting the electrical supply.
Always wear work gloves for all installation and maintenance operations.
This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not be allowed to tamper with the controls or play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
The premises where the appliance is installed must be sufficiently ventilated when the kitchen hood is used together with other gas combustion devices or other fuels.
The hood must be regularly cleaned on both the inside and outside (AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH).
This must be completed in accordance with the maintenance instructions provided. Failure to follow the instructions provided regarding the cleaning of the hood and filters will lead to the risk of fires.
Do not flambé under the range hood.
The use of exposed flames is detrimental to the filters and may cause a fire risk, and must therefore be avoided in all circumstances.
Any frying must be done with care in order to make sure that the oil does not overheat and ignite.
CAUTION: Accessible parts of the hood may become hot when used with cooking appliances.
For lamp replacement use only lamp type indicated in the Maintenance/Replacing lamps section of this manual.
WARNING! Do not connect the appliance to the mains until the installation is fully complete.
With regards to the technical and safety measures to be adopted for fume discharging, it is important to closely follow the regulations provided by the local authorities.
The air must not be discharged into a flue that is used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.
Do not use or leave the hood without the lamp correctly mounted due to the possible risk of electric shocks.
Never use the hood without effectively mounted grids.
The hood must NEVER be used as a support surface unless specifically indicated.
Use only the fixing screws supplied with the product for installation or, if not supplied, purchase the correct screw type.
Use the correct length for the screws which are identified in the Installation Guide.
In case of doubt, consult an authorized service assistance center or similar qualified person.
WARNING! Failure to install the screws or fixing device in accordance with these instructions may result in electrical hazards.
Do not use with a programmer, timer, separate remote control system, or any other device that switches on automatically.
The hood can look different from that illustrated in the drawings in this booklet. The instructions for use, maintenance, and installation, however, remain the same.
Closely follow the instructions set out in this manual. All responsibility for any eventual inconveniences, damages, or fires caused by not complying with the instructions in this manual is declined. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as: - staff kitchen areas in shops, offices, and other working environments; - farm houses; - by clients in hotels, motels, and other residential type environments; - bed and breakfast type environments. It is important to conserve this booklet for consultation at any moment. In the case of sale, cession, or move, make sure it is together with the product. ! Read the instructions carefully: there is important information about installation, use, and safety. ! Do not carry out electrical or mechanical variations on the product or on the discharge conduits. ! Before proceeding with the installation of the appliance, verify that there are no damaged components. Otherwise, contact your dealer and do not proceed with the installation.
The minimum distance between the supporting surface for the cooking equipment on the hob and the lowest part of the range hood must be not less than 55 cm from electric cookers and 65 cm from gas or mixed cookers.
If the instructions for installation for the gas hob specify a greater distance, this must be adhered to.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The mains power supply must correspond to the rating indicated on the plate situated inside the hood. If provided with a plug, connect the hood to a socket in compliance with current regulations and positioned in an accessible area, after installation. If it is not fitted with a plug (direct mains connection) or if the plug is not located in an accessible area, after installation, apply a double pole switch in accordance with standards which assures the complete disconnection of the mains under conditions relating to over-current category III, in accordance with installation instructions.
Warning! Before re-connecting the hood circuit to the mains supply and checking the efficient function, always check that the mains cable is correctly assembled.
Replacing the power cable
Warning! If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid hazard.
AIR VENT
(for the suction versions)
Connect the hood and discharge holes on the walls with a diameter equivalent to the air outlet (connection flange).
Using the tubes and discharge holes on walls with smaller dimensions will cause a diminution of the suction performance and a drastic increase in noise.
Any responsibility in the matter is therefore declined.
! Use a duct of the minimum indispensable length. Use a duct with as few elbows as possible (maximum elbow angle: 90° ! Avoid drastic changes in the duct cross-section. ! The company declines any responsibility whenever these regulations are not respected.
FILTERING OR DUCTING?
! Your cooker hood is ready to be used in suction version.
To use the hood in filtering version the special ACCESSORY KIT must be installed.
Check on the first pages of this manual if the ACCESSORY KIT is furnished or must be bought separately.
Note: If provided, in certain cases, the additional activated carbon filtering system may be installed on the hood.
Information about converting the hood from ducting version to filtering version is included in this manual.

Ducting version
In this case, the fumes are conveyed outside the building through a special pipe connected to the connection ring located on top of the hood.
Attention! The exhaust pipe is not supplied and must be purchased separately.
The diameter of the exhaust pipe must be equal to that of the connection ring.
Attention! If the hood is supplied with an active charcoal filter, it must be removed.

Filter version
The aspirated air will be degreased and deodorized before being recirculated into the room.
To use the hood in this version, you must install an additional filtering system based on activated charcoal.
CONTROLS
The hood is equipped with a control panel with an aspiration speed selection control and a light switch to control the cooking area lights.

MAINTENANCE
Cleaning
Clean using ONLY the cloth dampened with neutral liquid detergent. DO NOT CLEAN WITH TOOLS OR INSTRUMENTS. Do not use abrasive products. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL!
Maintenance of the anti-grease filters
Traps cooking grease particles.
The grease filter must be cleaned once a month using non aggressive detergents, either by hand or in the dishwasher, which must be set to a low temperature and a short cycle. When washed in a dishwasher, the grease filter may discolour slightly, but this does not affect its filtering capacity. To remove the grease filter, pull the spring release handle.

Maintenance of the charcoal filter
It absorbs unpleasant odours caused by cooking.
The saturation of the charcoal filter occurs after more or less prolonged use, depending on the type of cooking and the regularity of cleaning of the grease filter.
In any case it is necessary to replace the cartridge at least every four months. The charcoal filter may NOT be washed or regenerated.
Circular carbon filter
Apply one on each side as cover to both the shield grids of the motor impeller, then turn clockwise.
For disassembly, turn counter-clockwise.

Replacing lamps
Disconnect the appliance from the electricity.
Warning! Prior to touching the light bulbs, ensure they are cooled down.
Replace the old light bulb with one of the same type as specified in the feature label or near the light lamp on the hood.
- Using a flat head screwdriver or equivalent tool, carefully pry loose the light cover.
- Remove the damaged light and replace with a new 12 Volt, 20 Watt (Maximum) halogen light made for a G-4 base, suitable for use in open luminaires. Follow package directions and do not touch the new light with bare hands.
- Reinstall the light cover (it will snap shut).

MALFUNCTIONS
If something appears not to be working properly, do the following simple checks before calling Technical Service:
If the hood is not working.
Check that:
- The power has not been disconnected.
- A speed has been selected.
- If the hood performs inefficiently, check that:
- The motor speed selected is sufficient for the amount of smoke and vapours released.
- The kitchen is sufficiently ventilated to allow air intake.
- The charcoal filter is not worn (hood in filtering version).
If the hood has turned off during normal functioning, check that:
- The power has not been disconnected.
- The omnipolar disconnection device has not tripped.
If the hood fails to operate correctly, briefly disconnect it from the mains power supply for almost 5 seconds by pulling out the plug. Then plug it in again and try once more before contacting the Technical Assistance Service.

Components not provided with the product
GENERAL SAFETY

The extracted air must not be discharged into a flue used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.
Do not use or leave the appliance without properly installed racks to avoid the risk of electric shock.
Never use the appliance without properly installed racks! The appliance must never be used as a supporting surface unless specified.
Use only screws for fixing the appliance with the product or installation kit, or if not in the kit, use screws of the correct type. Use the correct number of screws as indicated in the installation guide. In case of doubt, consult an authorized
service center with qualified personnel. Warning! Failure to install the appropriate screws or accessories for fixing in accordance with these instructions may result in electric shock hazards.

The distance between the lower edge of the appliance and the cooking surface must be at least 55 cm for electric hobs, and at least 65 cm for gas or combination hobs.
If the installation instructions for the gas hob specify a greater distance, then follow that.
Electrical connection
The mains voltage must correspond to the voltage indicated on the rating plate, which is located inside the appliance. If the appliance is not equipped with a plug, connect it to a standard socket. The socket must comply with current regulations and be easily accessible. The socket can be switched on after installation. If the appliance is not equipped with a plug (direct connection to the mains), or if the socket is not easily accessible after installation, use an appropriate two-pole switch that ensures complete disconnection from the mains under overvoltage category III conditions, in accordance with installation regulations.
Warning! Before connecting the electrical system of the appliance to the power supply, check that it is functioning properly and ensure that the power cable is correctly installed.
Replacing the power cable
Warning! To avoid all risks, the replacement of the power cable must be carried out by qualified personnel from the technical service.

Cleaning
Clean only with a special sponge moistened with neutral liquid detergent. Do not use any tools for cleaning. Do not use products containing abrasive materials. Not applicable!
Maintenance of grease filters
They retain the grease particles coming from cooking.
The filters are cleaned with neutral detergents, by hand or in the dishwasher at low temperature and with a short cycle.
Washing the dishwasher may cause some discoloration of the grease filter, but its filtering characteristics remain absolutely unchanged.
Clean the grease filter more frequently if you cook often.

Maintenance of the charcoal filter
Removes kitchen odors.
The saturation of the charcoal filter occurs after a more or less long period of operation, determined by the type of cooking and the frequency of cleaning the grease filters. In any case, replace the cartridge at least every 4 months.
The charcoal filter cannot be washed or regenerated.
Turning the charcoal filter
Turn the filter clockwise to remove it.
Do not turn against the clock.

Replacing the lamp
Disconnect the device from the power supply.
Warning! Before touching the lamps, make sure they are cool.
Replace the damaged lamp with a new one of the same type as indicated on the label next to the lamp and the socket.
- Using a flat screwdriver or similar tool, carefully remove the protective element.
- Replace the burnt-out lamp.
Use only halogen lamps rated at 12 volts, with a maximum power of 20 watts, made for the G4 base, intended for use in open luminaires.
Follow the instructions and do not touch the new lamps with bare hands.
- Close the cover (screw it back on).

TROUBLESHOOTING
If something is not working properly, before contacting
the technical service, perform the following simple checks:
If the hood does not work:
Check:
that the power supply is not interrupted.
- that the speed is selected.
If the hood does not work well:
Check:
that the selected speed is adequate for the amount of smoke and steam produced. - that the duct is sufficient for the hood to exhaust air. - that the charcoal filter is not saturated (for recirculation mode).
If the hood switches off during normal operation: Check:
- that the power supply is not interrupted. - that the safety switch has not tripped.
In case of possible malfunctions, before contacting the technical service, disconnect the appliance from the power supply for at least 5 seconds, unplugging it and then plugging it back in. If the malfunction persists, contact the technical service.

Failure to comply with the norms of cleaning and replacement of filters increases the risk of fire.
It is strictly forbidden to cook on an open flame under the hood.
Using an open flame damages the filters and can lead to fire, so it must be avoided in any case.
The manufacturer is not responsible for any damage caused by improper use.
Warning: accessible parts may become hot when used with cooking appliances.
For replacing the lighting lamp, use only the lamp type specified in the maintenance/lamp replacement section of this manual.
Warning! Do not connect the device to the electrical grid until the installation is fully completed.

The hood may have a design that differs from the hood shown in the illustrations in these instructions, but in any case, the instructions for installation, technical servicing, and operation remain the same.
Follow the instructions given in this manual. The manufacturer disclaims all liability for damage or fire that may occur as a result of using the appliance not in accordance with the instructions given in this manual. The hoods are designed for household use and are intended solely for the purpose of extracting fumes.
It is important to keep the instructions for future reference. In case of sale, transfer, or moving, make sure the instructions are with the appliance. Please read the instructions carefully: they contain important information on installation, use, and safety. It is forbidden to make electrical or mechanical modifications to the appliance in the ducts. Before starting installation, check all components for defects and damage. In case of damage, contact the seller and do not install the appliance.
The installation height of the hood must be at least 55 cm for electric hobs and 65 cm for gas or combination hobs.
It is necessary to pay attention to the height indicated in the instructions for the installation of the hob.
Electrical connection
The voltage in the electrical network must correspond to the characteristics indicated on the rating plate located inside the hood. If the plug is included in the kit, connect the hood to a socket that complies with the standards and is in an accessible place, so that it can be disconnected after installation. If the plug is not included in the kit (direct connection to the electrical network) or the socket is not in an accessible place, also after installation, install a reliable two-pole switch that ensures complete disconnection from the network under overvoltage category III conditions, in full compliance with installation rules.
Warning! Before connecting the hood to the electrical network and checking the correct functioning, make sure the power supply is installed correctly.
Replacing the power cable
Warning! Replacing the power cable must be carried out by authorized technical service personnel.
The hood (with a filter) is designed for partial extraction of the exhaust pipe and exhaust outlet with the same diameter as the hood inlet (combined).
Using partial exhaust pipes and outlets with a smaller diameter will lead to a change in the efficiency of use and a significant increase in noise level.
Therefore, we disclaim all responsibility for the above. Use the shortest possible duct.
Use the duct with the minimum number of turns (maximum turn angle: 90°). Avoid changes in the cross-section of the duct. We disclaim all responsibility for the above.
Your hood is ready for use with the recommended accessories. To use it with a recirculation mode, you need to install the additional kit. Refer to the first pages of this manual to see if the additional kit is included in the delivery or if it needs to be ordered separately.
Note: If the delivery includes the hood, in some models, the additional kit for carbon filters may already be installed at the factory.
Information about the recirculation mode and the replacement of the carbon filter is included in this manual.

Exhaust connection
The exhaust air is expelled outside through the exhaust pipe connected to the flange.
The diameter of the exhaust pipe must match the diameter of the connecting ring. Attention! The exhaust pipe is not supplied, so it must be ordered separately. If the hood has side outlets, they must be closed.

Connection with the recirculation mode
Remove the hood from the electrical supply and clean it, then reattach it. To use the hood in recirculation mode, you need to install the additional filter system with activated carbon.
The device is controlled by commands using the liquid level control and the level control for lighting the working surface.

MAINTENANCE
UNITS
For cleaning, wipe the surface with a special cloth moistened with a neutral detergent. Do not use abrasive agents or tools for cleaning!
Do not use solvents or abrasive materials. Do not use alcohol!
Maintenance of air filters
Replace the air filter after 10 uses or during preparation.
Do not use the device for washing items with strong odors, or in a washing machine at low temperatures with a short cycle.
If you wash the filter in the washing machine, the filter may retain odors, but after filtering clean water, the odor will not change.
To remove the filter, press the spring handle of the filter removal mechanism.

Maintenance of the carbon filter
It absorbs unpleasant odors.
The carbon filter should be checked for saturation after a fairly long period of use, depending on the type of water and the frequency of filter cleaning. In any case, it is necessary to replace the cartridge at least every three months.
Do not wash or reuse it.
Coarse carbon filter
Place the filter on the opposite side of the protected rotor blades, then turn the filter clockwise.
Remove and turn the filter counterclockwise.

Replacing the lamp
Disconnect the device from the power supply.
Attention! When touching the lamp, make sure it has cooled down.
Replace the old lamp with a new one of the same type as indicated on the label, or as recommended by the lamp manufacturer.
