Frequently Asked Questions - 18/03/2026
Response Notice-Facile

If your TrekStor Maxi g.u external hard drive does not show up on your computer, here are several steps to follow to try to resolve this issue:

1. Check the connection

  • Make sure the USB cable is properly connected to both the hard drive and the computer.
  • Try another USB port or another USB cable to eliminate a hardware fault.

2. Power supply

  • If your hard drive requires an external power supply, check that the adapter is properly plugged in and functioning correctly.

3. Restart your computer

A simple restart can sometimes resolve device recognition issues.

4. Test on another computer

Connect the hard drive to another computer to check if the problem is with the drive or your computer.

5. Check disk management

  • On Windows, right-click on “This PC” then “Manage” and open “Disk Management”.
  • Check if the external hard drive appears in the list. If it is visible but without a drive letter, you can assign it a letter.
  • If the drive does not appear, this may indicate a hardware or driver issue.

By following these steps, you will be able to identify the cause of the problem and, in some cases, resolve it yourself.
