How to connect the TrekStor i.Gear SSDStick Prime to my computer?

Remove the protective cap and plug the SSD stick directly into a USB port on your computer. You can also use the included USB A-A extension cable if access is difficult. The LED lights up to indicate recognition.

Why is the displayed capacity lower than that indicated on the packaging?

Part of the capacity is reserved for the file system and system applications. For example, a 64 GB model may show about 59 GB available. This is normal and due to formatting and internal management.

How to safely remove the SSD disk?

Use the 'Safely Remove Hardware' function of your operating system before unplugging the USB cable. This prevents data loss or corruption.

Which operating systems are compatible?

The SSDStick Prime is compatible with Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Mac OS X 10.3 and later, as well as Linux with kernel 2.6.x and above.

Does the SSDStick Prime require specific drivers?

Under Windows, drivers for USB 3.0 are not always installed automatically. If the device is not recognized, install the USB 3.0 drivers provided by your motherboard or computer manufacturer.

What are the maximum transfer speeds?

Read speed reaches up to 420 MB/s and write speed up to 350 MB/s, depending on the system and capacity.

Can I use the SSDStick Prime in rain or a humid environment?

No. Avoid any exposure to rain, splashes, and excessive humidity (above 70%). Use it in a dry, dust-free environment.

2. Intended use

The TREKSTOR i.Gear SSD-Stick Prime is a flash memory device with a USB 3.1 Gen 1 interface that can be used for archiving digital data of all kinds (e.g. documents, images, audio and video files).

Never use the device for anything other than its intended purpose. Malfunctions may otherwise occur. Intended use includes observing all instructions contained in the technical documentation. The manufacturer is not liable for damages resulting from improper use or modification of the device.

Furthermore, the manufacturer shall not be held liable for damage or for loss of data or any subsequent damage caused as a result.

The manufacturer shall reserve the right to constantly further develop the product. Changes may be made without any direct reference to them in the user's manual. The recommended humidity for operating and storing the device is between 30 and 70 percent.
- The recommended ambient temperature for operating, charging and storing the device is between 5^ C and 30^ C. Temperatures above or below this may cause damage to the device.
- Protect the device from rapid temperature fluctuations. Condensation from humidity can damage the device and may result in danger to the user.

Do not expose your device to rain or to dripping or splashing water.
Use the device in a dust-free environment.

8. Connect the SSD stick to the computer

The SSD stick can be connected to the computer directly or using the USB A-A extension cable included. The extension cable is used if the SSD stick cannot be connected to the computer directly for space reasons.

a) Remove the protective cap from the SSD stick.
b) Optional: Connect the SSD stick to the complementary end of the extension cable.
c) Connect the SSD stick or the extension cable to a compatible USB port on your computer.

The LED lights up, the SSD stick is recognised by your computer and displayed in disk management.

ADVICE

Use the function "Safely Remove Hardware" in order to remove the SSD stick from the computer in a proper fashion.
