Frequently Asked Questions - GFR 42 BOSCH

How to change the blade of the Bosch GFR 42?
Wear protective gloves. Remove the battery. Use the locking rod to block the shaft, then unscrew the blade nut. Replace the blade observing the cutting direction (8-tooth or saw blades). Tighten the nut to 20 Nm.
What to do if the battery does not light up or the tool does not work?
First check the battery charge status. If it is discharged, recharge it. If the battery is too hot or too cold, let it return to room temperature. If the problem persists, contact Bosch after-sales service.
How to replace the cutting line?
Remove the battery. Open the line head, remove the old line and insert a new line (2.4 mm, 2.7 mm or 3.0 mm). Reassemble the line head. To advance the line, tap the head against the ground during operation.
The tool vibrates abnormally, what to do?
Stop the tool immediately and remove the battery. Check if the blade is damaged or unbalanced. Replace the blade if necessary. Ensure the blade nut is tightened to 20 Nm. If vibrations persist, contact customer service.
Can other batteries than recommended be used?
No, use only Bosch Lithium-Ion batteries (ref. 2607 336 065) and the AL 36100 CV Professional charger. Using other batteries may damage the tool and pose a safety risk.
How to maintain the hedge trimmer after use?
Clean the line head and ring with a soft brush after each use. After 10 hours of service, remove the ring and carefully clean the lower part. Store the tool in a dry place, sheltered from the sun, with the battery removed.
What to do if the protective cover does not fit?
Make sure you have removed the blade before mounting the cover. The cover must be attached first. If the blade is already in place, remove it, mount the cover, then remount the blade.
Why does the motor stop during use?
This may be due to overload (grass too tall or too thick). Release the trigger, then restart after a few seconds. If the problem persists, let the tool cool down for 5 minutes. Also check the battery charge status.
How to transport the tool safely?
Always mount the protective cover on the blade. Remove the battery. Use the shoulder strap for transport. Never transport the tool with the battery in place.
Where to find spare parts and after-sales service?
Order online at www.bosch-pt.fr (France) or www.bosch-pt.com/ch/fr (Switzerland). For France, call 0811 36 01 22 (customer service) or contact sav.outillage-electroportatif@fr.bosch.com. Keep the 10-digit article number.
