USER MANUAL XH210 Soba

The following basic precautions should always be followed when using electric appliances to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury:

  1. Read all instructions carefully before using the heater.
  2. The use of accessories not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
  3. Before plugging in, make sure that your electricity supply (current, voltage) is the same as that shown on the heater. If this is not the case, contact your dealer and DO NOT use the heater.
  4. Do not position the heater immediately below a socket.
  5. Do not let the cord hang over edge of the working surface or touch hot surfaces.
  6. The heater becomes hot when it is in use. To avoid burns, do not touch the outer surfaces. Always use the handles when moving the heater.
  7. Do not place combustible materials such as furniture, pillows, bedding, paper, clothes and curtains directly in front of, behind or at the side of the heater. Always maintain a safety distance of at least 3 feet (0.9m) between other objects and the heater.
  8. Extreme caution is essential when children are near the heater or if the heater is unattended.
  9. Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the heater.
  10. Never leave the heater unattended. Always unplug the heater when not in use.
  11. Never operate the heater with a damaged cord or plug, if the heater has been dropped or damaged in any way or if it is not working properly. Return the faulty heater to your authorized Soba dealer for a check up or repair.
  12. This heater is for household use only. Do not use outdoors.
  13. This heater must not be used in bathrooms, showers, swimming pools, laundry areas or similar indoor facilities. NEVER place the heater near a bathtub anything else containing water.
  14. The interior elements of the heater are hot. Sparks and arcing may occur Consequently, never use it where petrol, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
  15. Never lay the cord under carpeting. It must always be exposed. Make sure it is placed so no one can trip over it.
  16. To switch off the heater, turn the temperature knob and the 4-P rotary knob to "O" and disconnect the power cord from the mains socket. Never pull at or yank the cord to disconnect it outlet.
  17. Take care that no foreign objects can get into the heater or penetrate any openings in the appliance as this could cause shock or fire or damage to the heater.
  18. To protect against fire, ensure the air intake and exhaust are not blocked. Never place the heater on soft surfaces (beds etc.) where the openings could become blocked.

  19. Use the heater only for the purposes described in these instructions. Use for any other purpose could cause fire, electric shock or injury.

  20. Do not use an extension cable as this could overheat and cause a fire.
  21. CAUTION: Never open the heater! No user-serviceable parts inside!

IMPORTANT WARNING

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or authorised service agent or qualified electrician.

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR FAN HEATER

HOW TO OPERATE

  1. Remove your heater from its carton and unwind the cord to its full length.
  2. Place the heater on a horizontal, flat surface.
  3. Set the 4-P Rotary Knob to the "O" position.
  4. Plug the Power Cord into a mains socket.
  5. Turn the Temperature Rotary Knob to "max" position, then set the 4-P Rotary Knob at the or ≈ position. When the room has reached the desired temperature, turn the Temperature Rotary Knob slowly clockwise until you hear a click. This sets the heater to cycle on and off to maintain the required temperature.
  6. Turn the Swing ON/OFF Switch on when you want the heater to oscillate at an angle of 90^ for a better distribution of the hot air.
  7. To switch off turn the 4-P Rotary Knob to the "0" position, then unplug from the mains socket.

Note: This heater is fitted with a safety mechanism that switches it off automatically as soon as the heater is tilted.

CONTROL ELEMENTS

4-P ROTARY KNOB

  1. Position O The heater and fan are switched off.
  2. Position Cooling air circulation without heating function.
  3. Position Warm air circulation.
  4. Position Hot air circulation.

TEMPERATURE ROTARY KNOB

  1. From min to max on the scale: turn to required heating temperature.
  2. From min clockwise to the end of the scale: turns off the heater.

ON/OFF SWING SWITCH

  1. Turn the switch on when you want the heater to oscillate in order to enhance ho air distribution; the fan heater will move back and forward at an angle of 90^
  2. When the switch is turned to ON, the light integrated in the switch will light up.

AUTOMATIC SAFETY MECHANISM

There is an automatic safety mechanism integrated in the base of the heater. If the heater is knocked over or lifted up the unit will switch off automatically.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

  1. Always turn the 4-P Rotary Knob to "O" position and unplug the heater from the socket when it is not in use and before cleaning.
  2. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces.
  3. Never use detergents or solvents to clean the heater
  4. NEVER attempt to clean the interior of the heater.
  5. NEVER ATTEMPT TO OPEN THE COVER OF THE HEATER
  6. Before storing the heater for the summer, wind up the cord and pack the heater in the carton to prevent damage.
  7. Always unwind the cord to its full length before use to prevent overheating.

SERVICE

Never attempt electrical or mechanical repairs yourself. Return the unit for repairs in the original carton.

CONDITIONS OF GUARANTEE

The guarantee is valid for 2 years from date of supply to the end user. In order to claim under the guarantee the faulty appliance must be taken to the official after-sales service agent together with proof of purchase (copy of the invoice or receipt). The guarantee covers the costs for work and material.

The guarantee shall be invalid or prematurely discontinued if damages are due to any of the following causes: utilisation of the appliance in the commercial sector, exterior influences, non-professional installation, non-observance of the instructions for use or operating instructions, force majeure, inappropriate use, intervention by non-authorised persons as well as normal wear and tear. Also excluded are damage due to dropping or falling, water or operating with incorrect electrical power.
