PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
- Attractive, modern design.
- Adjustable humidity control with easy dial setting.
- The continual and powerful dehumidifying function is effective in hot or rainy weather, for drying clothes or in rooms where particularly low humidity is essential.
- The water tank has a water level indicator. The dehumidifier will stop running when the water tank is full and the alarm lamp will light up.
- The mould-proof filtering screen filters out larger particles suspended in the air; the static air cleaner absorbs particles invisible to the naked eye. This dual protection keeps the air fresh and natural.
- Casters are mounted to facilitate moving the dehumidifier, the outlet is designed to discharge the air upwards; this is good for drying clothes.
The dehumidifier is particularly effective in the following situations:
- dew or mildew on damp carpets, ceilings or walls
• quilts and covers that are damp and smell musty
• damp clothes that are hard to dry in rainy or snowy weather
• clothes or leather articles gathering mould
• clothes stored in drawers or wardrobes become damp and are difficult to dry
• where records, books and cameras are stored
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
BEFORE USE, PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THESE PRECAUTIONS WHICH ARE VERY IMPORTANT AND MUST BE OBSERVED
Ensure all electrical installations are correctly earthed and in good condition. Any repairs must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
The earth wire is integrated in the dehumidifier power plug. Never try to alter the power cable yourself. Be sure to use an earthed socket, and make sure the earth lead is property connected
Remove any dust on the power plug regularly as this could cause accidents (fire or electrical shock)
Never unplug the power lead when the appliance is switched on Never touch the dial with wet hands as this could cause an electrical shock
If there is any doubt, call a qualified electrician to check whether the line capacity is correct: any work on the power lead, plug or socket must carried out by a qualified electrician. Never wire two leads together. Never extend the power lead. Never use faulty sockets
Never place anything on the unit or on the leads. Interfering with connections of power plugs is dangerous and could cause a short circuit, fire or electrical shock
Never pull at the power lead.
Grasp the power plug to unplug the dehumidifier; pulling it out by the power lead is dangerous.
The dehumidifier must be placed on a solid, smooth surface.
A soft or uneven surface could cause vibrations or abnormal noise during operation.
If the dehumidifier is knocked over, water spilling out of the water container could cause damage (fire, electrical shock).
Do not place any heavy object or anything containing water on top of the dehumidifier. Water could run into the dehumidifier and cause fire or electr shock.
Do not sit or climb onto the dehumidifier. Keep children away from the unit
Do not poke fingers or insert anything into the air inlet or outlet.
The fan inside the unit turns at high speed and could cause serious injury.
Do not spray insecticide or use flammable agents on or near the dehumidifi
This could cause fire or damage the dehumidifier
Keep windows and doors closed for best results.
Never allow the unit to get wet !
Never use the dehumidifier where it is likely to get wet. Wetting the dehumidifier would impair insulation and could easily lead to electrical shocks.
Simply wipe the dehumidifier gently with a damp cloth to clean it. Splashing water o to the unit could be dangerous (electrical shock).
Make sure the dehumidifier is not near a heater or other heating device.
Heating could cause deformation of the dehumidifier body.
Do not use the dehumidifier where it is exposed to direct sunshine
Always unplug the dehumidifier when it is not in use. Accumulated dust on the dehumidifier may lead to fire or accidents
Do not place anything on the dehumidifier or cover the air inlet or outlet.
Bad ventilation could cause overheating (fire risk)
Be sure to install the drainage hose so it slopes downwards and condensati can run off easily. Bad drainage could cause the water in the container to run over This is dangerous and could cause fire or electrical shock.
Always switch off and empty the water container before moving the unit.
If the water in the container spills over, it could wet other devices nearby and could cause fire or electrical shock.

SOBA 13 14 15FUNCTIONS
Starting-up:
- Make sure the dial on the operating panel is turned to "OFF", and the "Running" light is off.
- Plug into the power supply.
- Turn the dial clockwise to the required humidity setting; the "Running" lamp lights up.
Shutting down:
- Turn the dial to "Off" position (turn anticlockwise as far as it will go).
- Unplug to disconnect the power supply
Humidity setting
When the dial is turned to the "60%" position the dehumidifier will dehumidify to a relative humidity of 60%. The dehumidifier will switch off automatically as soon as the required humidity is reached. When the ambient humidity rises over 60%, the dehumidifier will start up again. The same applies for any other setting. If the dial is turned to the "CONT." position (continuous dehumidifying) the unit will continue running until the dehumidifier unit is switched off or the water container is full, no matter what the ambient humidity is.
Precautions
- The humidifier cannot cool like an air-conditioner. As it emits heat the r temperature will rise by 1^ C - 2^ C .
• This dehumidifier can dehumidify a room area of 12m^2 - 23m^2 . - The dehumidifier is designed to operate perfectly at temperatures of 15^ - 35^ . (The dehumidifier will still operate beyond this range, but efficiency will impaired.)
• As the room temperature falls, the dehumidifying capacity will be lowered.
TIPS: A humidity value of 65 % is usually considered comfortable. Generally, the preferable humidity range for humans is 60 % - 75 % in summer and 55 % - 70 % in winter
When the water container is full
- The dehumidifier will stop and the red 'FULL' indicator lamp will light up
- Slide the water container out carefully. To prevent water from spilling over, pull the container along the groove and parallel to the floor (see diagram below).
- Empty the water container
- After emptying, slide the container carefully back into the dehumidifier until it clicks into place.
NOTES:
- In order to avoid the compressor starting up repeatedly (this could cause accidents) do not move the water container backwards and forwards.
- Do not put anything inside the water container so the water level float is not obstructed.
- Push the water container right into the dehumidifier until it clicks into place. If the container is not inserted properly, the dehumidifier will not start. If this happens remove the water container and replace it properly.
Run off through the drainage hose
- Remove the water container
- Break off the cover on the condensation outlet at the back of the dehumidifier and use a knife to scrape off any roughness at the edge.
- Connect up a PVC drainpipe (inner diameter ∅ 12 mm, not included) and fix it firmly.
- Replace the water container

• Install the run-off tube so it slopes downwards (cf. Fig. 1 below) and make sure it is not pointing upwards (cf. Fig. 2 below) to ensure run off is unimpeded
- Avoid any kinks and bends in the drainage tube (cf. Fig. 3)
- Do not immerse the end of the run-off tube in water (cf. Fig. 4).
• Do not use the run-off tube at an ambient temperature below freezing point
MAINTENANCE
Cleaning the Dehumidifier Body
- Wipe the dust off the dehumidifier body with a clean cloth; use a mild household detergent to remove fingerprints or oil stains.
• Do not use any volatile oils, petrol or paint thinner for cleaning.
Cleaning the Water Container
- Remove the water container
- Rinse the interior and exterior of the container with water
• Wipe the water container dry with a soft cloth, replace it in the dehumidifier
Cleaning the Air Filter (once every 2 weeks)
- Take out the water container, pull out the filter (behind the screen cover)
- Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the filter or rinse with water If the filter is very dirty, use a mild detergent. Do not use hot water (above 50^ C) to avoid deformation of the filter.
- After washing, dry the filter in a cool, airy place. Do not expose the screen to direct sunshine or place it near a source of heat.
- Slot the screen back from below and replace the water container.
Installation and Replacement of Air Cleaner (once every 4 months)
After taking out the water container, remove the filter from the dehumidifier
Use scissors to open the pack and take out the new air cleaner
Set the air cleaner on the air filter, and use the filter clips to fix it in place
Replace the filter in the dehumidifier and slide the water container back into place
ABOUT THE AIR CLEANER
- The filter element of the air cleaner is a textile screen treated by a special electrostatic process to absorb dust, pollen and very small particles of d (diameter as little as 0.01 l/m) suspended in the air efficiently
- The air cleaner should be replaced every 4 months. Replace immediately if it turns dark brown.
- The air cleaner is sealed in a polythene pack before leaving the factory to ensure top efficiency
When the dehumidifier is not going to be used for a long time:
- Switch off the dehumidifier and unplug from the mains
- Clean the body, water container and filter
- Store the dehumidifier away from direct sunlight
