1. Please read the instructions before using your toaster for the first time and keep

them for future reference.

2. Danger of electric shock: Never immerse the appliance or parts of the appliance

in water or any other liquid!

3. Special care is called for when children are around.

4. Never leave the appliance unattended when it is in operation.

5. Place the toaster on a dry, flat surface.

6. Never use the appliance out of doors.

7. Always disconnect the appliance from the mains when not in use and before

Take the appliance to the after sales service to be repaired. Never try to repair the appliance yourself; this requires special tools and must be done professionally.

9. As a safety precaution, be sure to check the cord regularly for visible damage. If

there should be the slightest sign of damage to the mains lead take the appliance to the after sales service to be repaired.

10. Do not let the power lead hang down from the working surface or come into

contact with hot surfaces. Always let the toaster cool down completely before winding the cord round the base and putting it away.

1=light, 7=dark). We recommend browning setting 3 when using the toaster for the first time. You may prefer different degrees of browning for different types of bread. Highlift Feature: To eject smaller slices of toast, raise the toast lever to about 2 cm above the starting position.

4. Press the toast lever down until it clicks. This starts the browning process. Please

note that the toast lever does not click into place if the toaster is not plugged into the mains.

5. The toaster switches off automatically when the required degree of browning is

reached and ejects the slices of toast automatically. The browning process can be interrupted at any time by pressing the “Cancel” button. Toasting frozen bread: To toast bread straight from the deepfreeze, place the slices of bread in the toaster and set the required degree of browning. Press the toast lever down until it clicks into place then press the “Frozen” (defrost) button. Warming toast: You can warm toast without re-toasting with this toaster. To warm a slice of toast, place the toast in the toast compartment, press the toast lever down until it clicks, then press the “Reheat” warming button.4

Bagel Feature: This feature is designed used to toast bagels, crumpets and muffins. Raise the roll holder by turning the knob and place the bagels on the roll holder. Press the “Bagel” button. If the bread or bagel you want to toast should get caught in the toaster, please proceed as follows: Disconnect the toaster from the mains. Allow the toaster to cool and remove the piece of bread carefully. Take care not to damage the heating element. Never use a knife or other sharp or pointed objects.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

1. Always disconnect the appliance from the mains and let the toaster cool down

completely before cleaning.

2. To remove crumbs, open the crumb tray under the toaster, clean and replace it.

The crumb tray must be cleaned regularly. Make sure that crumbs cannot collect at the bottom of the toaster.

3. Clean the outer surface of the toaster with a slightly damp cloth then rub dry with

a dry cloth. Never immerse the appliance in water.

4. To clean the inside of the toaster, tip the toaster upside down over the sink and

shake the crumbs out.4
