USER MANUAL LFG 3132 CLATRONIC

General Safety Instructions Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.

  • The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fi t for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors (except if it is designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
  • When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
  • Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead).

During operation the temperature of the exposed surface may be very hot. Danger of burns!.

  • Place the unit on a fl at and heat-resistant surface. In the case of sensitive surfaces please place a heat-resistant board under the pan.
  • Warning: Danger of fi re! Keep the unit at a safe distance from easily infl ammable objects such as furniture, curtains, etc. (30 cm). Oil and fat preparations may burn if overheated.
  • In order to avoid the accumulation of heat you should not place the device directly under a cupboard. Please ensure suffi cient clearance!
  • The device is not suitable for operation outdoors!
  • Do not operate the device with an external timer or separate remote control system.
  • Please ensure that the mains lead does not come into con- tact with the hot sections of the device. Do not touch the hot parts of the device. If necessary, you should use an oven cloth and hold the device only by the handle or the recessed grip.
  • When opening the grill or pressing the surfaces of the grill, please be careful of the vapours given off.
  • Always carry the device with both hands.
  • Do not move the device when it is in use.
  • The items being grilled should only be removed from the grill plate with the help of appropriate implements.
  • Allow the device to cool down before cleaning it and putting it away. CAUTION: You should never use the device without the fat collecting pan in order to avoid damage to the working surface on which the device is standing. Starting-up the unit Non-stick coating

  • Grease the grill plates slightly before using for the fi rst time. Use the appliance for 10 minutes with the grill plates closed and without food (see use of the appliance). Then wipe them clean with a moist cloth. NOTE: Any smoke or smells produced during this procedure are normal. Please ensure suffi cient ventilation. Using the unit Fat Collecting Pan Please note! The pan under the heating plate must be inserted. This is where excess fat collects. When grilling you should check the contents regularly and empty the pan when necessary. Connection

1. Fully unwind the mains cable.

2. Before inserting the mains plug into the socket check

whether the voltage which you intend to use corresponds to that of the machine. Please see the label on the machine for details.

3. Only connect the machine to a correctly installed safety

socket, 230 V/50 Hz. Control Lamp After you have inserted the plug the red control lamp lights up to indicate that the device is connected to the mains. Angle of Inclination With the rotating wheel (6) on the back of the device you can change the angle of inclination (max. 10°) of the rear foot. This makes it possible to direct the fat given off by the food being grilled or the collected fat more easily into the fat collecting pan. Warm-up time

  • The red control lamp goes on during the heating up period and goes off when this is fi nished.
  • The warm-up time is approx. 5 min. During this time you should keep the grilling surfaces closed.

1. Push the fat collecting pan under the hot plate. Please

ensure that it is pushed correctly into the guide rails.

2. The red control lamp goes on from time to time during ope-

ration to indicate that the temperature is being maintained.

3. Fold up the lid until it remains open and then place the food

to be grilled in position. Then close the lid gently.

  • The height/thickness of the food to be grilled should not be more than 2.5 cm, as otherwise it is not possible to close the grilling surfaces.

4. Grilling is fi nished after 8 to 10 minutes (depending on the

thickness of the food being grilled). NOTE: When opening the grill or pressing the surfaces of the grill, please be careful of the vapours given off.

5. Open the cover and remove the cooked food with a wooden

fork or similar kitchen utensil. Do not use any sharp or cutting objects as they may damage the coating of the grill plates.

6. When food is not being grilled the grill surfaces should

always be kept closed.

7. Remove larger pieces of leftover food from the grilling

surfaces from time to time in order to prevent them from burning. Switching Off If you would like to interrupt operation or switch the device off, remove the plug from the socket. The red control lamp goes off.

Please note that the grilling surfaces continue to heat up and remain hot fur a considerable time, so that they should not be touched!

As the housing and the metal parts become hot during operation you should allow the device to cool down before storing it away. Cleaning

  • Always pull out the plug from the mains socket before cleaning and wait until the unit has cooled down.
  • Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects.
  • Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
  • Under no circumstances should the device be immersed in water for cleaning. Heating Plate
  • Please remove any food residues while they are still warm with a damp cloth or paper towel. You can also use the scraper supplied to clean the grooves.
  • Clean the heating plate with a soft sponge and soapy water. Then wipe off with clear water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. After drying please apply a thin fi lm of edible oil to the surface. Fat Collecting Pan
  • Pull out of the fat collecting pan. Shake the contents out and clean the drawer in soapy water. Housing
