- Before using the wok for the fi rst time, please clean it as described under „Cleaning and Care“.
- Please select a suitable non-slip base on which to place your wok. Using the Device
- Cooking with a wok stems from Asian cuisine, the main feature of which is that food is cooked for an extremely short time.
- It is therefore advisable to cut all the ingredients which you need for a wok dish beforehand into „mouth-sized“ pieces (cubes/strips). This drastically reduces the cooking time and your food will retain its fresh taste.
- As the temperature of the oil in the wok is higher than normal when food is prepared, please do not use any butter, margarine or olive oil in the wok. The most suitable types of oil are frying oils or vegetable oil. Please do not use any sharp or pointed objects when handling the wok. The most suitable items are wooden utensils. Cooking with the Wok When you have fi nished preparing all the ingredients for your wok dish, unwind the lead completely. Turn the temperature control as far as possible to the left. Only connect the machine to a properly installed 230 V, 50 Hz safety socket.
1. Turn the temperature regulator to approximately 1/4 before the maximum and
let the wok warm up for a few minutes while empty.
2. Put some oil or stock into the wok and add the diced ingredients.
3. Cook these while stirring or turning constantly.
4. If the liquid in the wok evaporates too much and the ingredients start to „roast“,
5. Serve the dish as soon as it is ready.
Steaming with the Wok
1. Pour 2-3 cups of water into the wok and place the grid on it.
2. Put the ingredients on the grid and put the cover on.
3. Turn the wok to the maximum to heat it up quickly. Then set the required
temperature. If you are unsure which setting to choose, begin with a low tem- perature setting and then increase the temperature gradually (also for boiling, frying and fondues).
4. The maximum volume is 1.5 litres.
When steaming add some water if necessary. ATTENTION: hot water vapor may escape from the cover! Danger of burning! Frying with the Wok
1. Place between 1 litre and 1.5 litres of oil in the wok.
2. Switch on the device and set the highest level. Leave the oil to heat.
3. With a wooden stick (e.g. shashlik spit or wooden cooking spoon) you can test
whether the correct temperature has been reached. When this is inserted into the oil, small air bubbles should rise up along the wooden stick. Alternatively, you can place a piece of the food to be fried into the hot oil. If bubbles are formed, the frying fat has reached the right temperature.
4. Place the ingredients carefully into the hot oil. Do not overfi ll the wok. Care is
required as you are frying in an open vessel and it is not possible to avoid oil splashes. ATTENTION: dry the ingredients in advance with a paper towel, to reduce the spattering of the hot oil! Do not put the cover on the wok, as the condensed water may drip into the hot oil. Initial Operation of the Fondue Set
1. Place the fondue equipment on the heating stand.
2. Fill the pot with fat or stock (0.7 litres to 1.5 litres).
3. Preheat the device on level „max“. Test the oil temperature as described
above under point 3 „Frying in the Wok“.
4. Place the pieces of meat on the fondue forks and then dip them into the oil.
Depending on the size of the meat pieces, the cooking process takes between 4 and 7 minutes, i.e. the smaller the pieces of meat or other food are, the faster they are cooked.
5. Adjust the temperature with the regulator such that the oil simmers.
- Before cleaning the machine always remove the mains plug and wait until the machine has cooled down.
- External stains can be removed with a moist cloth without using detergents.
- Clean the wok, cover and accessories in the usual way in water. Only clean the base with a lightly moistened cloth without using detergents. Do not place the base in water.
- Clean the wok bowl with a moist cloth.
