NOTE: A small amount of smoke is normal. Please ensure that there is adequate ventilation. Useful hints for use

1. Always remove the food remaining in the oil. Change the oil

after using it 8-10 times.

2. Deep frying fat must be capable of being heated to high

temperatures. Use high quality frying oil or frying grease. Do not use margarine, olive oil or butter: they are not fi t for frying, because they start to smoke already at low tempera- tures. We recommend the use of liquid frying oil.

Please note this important information if you intend to use fat! If you use fat, please divide it up into small pieces. Turn the thermostat to a low temperature and add the pieces slowly. Once the fat has melted and the correct oil level is reached you can set the desired temperature on the thermostat. Rub dry humid foods with a cloth before frying. Oil running along the pot drips into the channel attached around the heating base. There are small holes in this channel through which the oil can drain. This may result in damage to your table or working surface. Initial Operation of the Fondue Set Please select a suitable non-slip base on which to place your wok.

1. Unwind the required length of mains lead from the bottom

section or the heating base.

2. Place the fondue equipment on the heating stand.

3. Fill the pot with fat or oil (Only fi ll between the MIN. and

MAX. mark). The most suitable types of oil are frying oils or vegetable oil. Place the upper section on the fondue pot so that it is correctly positioned.

4. Only connect the machine to a properly installed 230 V,

50 Hz safety socket.

5. Switch on the device and set the highest level. Leave the oil

to heat. The control lamp lights up and indicates that the de- vice is switched on. With a wooden stick (e.g. shashlik spit or wooden cooking spoon) you can test whether the correct temperature has been reached. When this is inserted into the oil, small air bubbles should rise up along the wooden stick. Alternatively, you can place a piece of the food to be fried into the hot oil.

6. Place the pieces of meat on the fondue forks and then dip

them into the oil. Depending on the size of the meat pieces, the cooking process takes between 4 and 7 minutes, i.e. the smaller the pieces of meat or other food are, the faster they are cooked. CAUTION: Place the ingredients carefully into the hot oil. Care is required as you are frying in an open vessel and it is not possible to avoid oil splashes. Dry off the ingredients beforehand with a cloth.

7. Adjust the temperature with the regulator such that the oil

8. If you would like to stop the cooking process, turn the

temperature regulator to the minimum setting and remove the mains plug from the socket. Allow the frying oil a consi- derable time to cool down. Before continuing to use the full frying pot, please ensure that it is no longer at a dangerous temperature. Cleaning and care

  • Before cleaning the machine always remove the mains plug and wait until the machine has cooled down.
  • External stains can be removed with a moist cloth without using detergents.
  • Remove the fat residues while they are still warm with a damp cloth or paper tissue.
  • Wash the fondue pot, the attachment and accessories in the usual manner in the sink. NOTE: Do not wash the fondue pot or fondue forks in the dishwasher as the wooden sections are not suitable for dishwasher use.
  • Only clean the base with a lightly moistened cloth without using detergents. Do not place the base in water.
  • Do not use strong detergents or solvents. Technical Data Model:...............................................................................
