USER MANUAL DBS 762 CB BOMANN
General Safety Instructions Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fi t for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors (except if it is designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. Do not put it in water.
- When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
- Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead).
- Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.
- Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualifi ed person and with a cable of the same type.
- Use only original spare parts.
- Pay careful attention to the following “Special Safety Instruc- tions“. Children
- In order to ensure your children‘s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach. Caution! Do not allow small children to play with the foil as there is a danger of suffocation!
- To protect children from the dangers posed by electrical appliances, make sure that the cable is hanging low and that children do not have access to the appliance. The sole plate, rest (8) and water tank (6) become hot very quickly and require a long time to cool down. Please do not touch it.
- When not in use the iron should be stored in the storage space.
- Before fi lling the water tank with water, remove the mains plug. Do not fi ll more than 0,6 litre of cold water into the water tank.
- Do not bend the connecting hose (4)!
- Only clothes are to be ironed with this machine!
- Please use only distilled water. Do not use any decalcifi cati- on agents! These will destroy the machine!

- Remove any protective fi lms and adhesive labels from the stainless steel soleplate before using the appliance.
- Completely unwind the line cord. First Use of the Machine
- Clean the ironing base with a slightly damp cloth.
- In order to remove all residues before initial use, please pass the iron a few times over an old clean cloth.
- Open the seal (7) of the water tank and fi ll it through the opening with not more than 0.6 litres of pure distilled water. In order to prevent the contents of the tank from leaking, do not overfi ll the tank. In this way you will prevent any excess water from coming out of the soleplate.
- Then re-tighten the seal. We recommend rinsing out the water tank approximately 3 times with fresh water.
- Do not fi ll battery water, water from the clothes dryer and water containing additives (such as starch, perfume, softener or other chemicals) into the water reservoir. This could damage the iron due to residues forming in the steam chamber. Connected Wattage The station has a total maximum wattage of 2000 W. With this connected load a separate supply line protected by a 16 A household circuit breaker is recommended. CAUTION: Warning - Danger of Overload! Do not use any extension leads or multiple sockets as this device is too powerful. Using the Machine Ironing without steam
1. Sort out the garments according to their ironing temperatu-
ting the appliance to a power point, or before disconnecting it.
3. Electrical connection:
- Make sure that the iron voltage (see name plate) and the line voltage match.
- Only connect the machine to a properly installed safety socket, 230 V/50 Hz.
4. Start with the lower temperatures. It is set with the thermos-

5. Place the iron on its stand.
6. The control lamp on the handle of the iron shows that it
is heating up. As soon as the control lamp goes off the operating temperature has been reached. Now you can start ironing. Always turn the temperature control to MIN after use and remove the mains plug (the control lamp in the handle goes off). Steam Ironing For this a high temperature is needed.
2. Turn the O/I operating switch (10) on the station to position
I. The control lamp in the switch shows that it is on standby.
When the control lamp (5) lights up there is enough steam for steam operation.
The steam is hot! There is a danger of scalding!
3. With the steam jet button „
“ you can create a short and powerful jet of steam. How can I replenish the water during operation? If the pressure falls during operation you can fi ll more water into the tank at the same time.
1. First turn operating switch to O (The lamp in the I/O switch
NOTE: If there is still some residual pressure in the water tank, a safety lock prevents the water tank catch (7) from being opened.
The residual pressure fi rst has to be relieved before the device can be safely opened.
3. With the steam jet button „
“ you can now release the residual steam pressure. If no more steam comes out of the soleplate, please remove the plug and release the water tank lock (7) carefully.
The steam is hot! There is a danger of scalding! NOTE: If it is not yet possible to open the lock of the water tank the device needs a further 2 to 3 minutes to cool down. Then release the residual pressure again.
4. Use the funnel (12) to fi ll pure distilled water from a measu-
ring beaker into the water tank. Do not overfi ll! Take care of water splashes that might come out of the boiler. In order to prevent the water from splashing it should be fi lled into the funnel slowly after the safety lock has been opened.
5. Fasten the safety lock again.
6. Insert the power plug back into the socket.
7. Always turn the temperature control to MIN after use, turn
the operating switch (10) to O and remove the mains plug from the socket (the lamp in the I/O switch goes off).
Never open the water tank lock while the device is being operated. When ironing at low temperatures, please ensure that you do not use any steam. Vertical Steam This can be used to produce a jet of steam in a vertical direction. - Always remove the mains lead before cleaning!
- Wait until the machine has cooled down completely.
- Clean the casing with a slightly damp cloth.
- Clean the sole plate and the rest with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents!
- Any residual water can remain in the water tank, but should be poured out if it has been in the tank for a prolonged period.
- The device must never be immersed in water!
