- Do not use the mixer while empty, as this may damage it. - Always use the mixer with the jug lid properly in place. - Do not fill the jug with food at a temperature of over 80º C. - Do not fill the jug to more than 2/3 of its capacity, as it may overflow. - Handle the blade with care in order to avoid the risk of cuts. - Do not insert your hand or any other object into the jug while the mixer is in operation. If necessary, disconnect the appliance and use a spatula to remove any food stuck to the sides. Before using the mixer for the first time, clean the jug (C), the measurer lid (A) and the jug lid (B) in hot water and washing up liquid. Dry all parts thoroughly before replacing. Assembly All assembly and disassembly operations should be carried out while the appliance is unplugged. 4. HOW TO USE THE APPLIANCE
- Put the measurer lid (A) into the jug’s lid (B) by inserting its fins into the grooves in the lid and turning in a clockwise direction (Fig. 3)
- Add the ingredients to the jug and put the lid on.
- To take the mixer apart, do the same as for assembly, but in reverse order. Model BV-460
- If you wish, insert the filter (D) by fitting the filter’s grooves into the jug’s guides (Fig. 4)
- Put the lid on as show in figure 5 and lock it by tightening the side grippers
- Add the ingredients to the jug through the opening in the lid.
- Put the measurer (A) into the lid (B) by inserting its fins into the grooves in the lid and turning in a clockwise direction (Fig 3)
- To dismantle the mixer, do the same as for assembly, but in reverse order Operation
- Place the assembled mixer on a stable surface. Make sure that the selector (H) is in the ‘0’ position.
- Plug the appliance into the mains.
- Chop the products to be liquidised and place them in the jug. Next add the liquid, making sure you do not exceed the maximum level indicated on the jug.
- Close the jug (C) as explained in the “Assembly” section.
- For continuous operation, turn the selector to the ‘1’ ‘2’ or ‘3’ position, depending on the speed you would like. Speeds ‘1’ and ‘2’ are recommended for liquids, such as milkshakes, for example. Speeds ‘2’ and ‘3’, on the other hand, are recommended for thicker foods, such as purées.
- If you want to use the mixer for momentary operations, turn the selector to the “P” position, and alternate it continuously with the ‘0’ position.• Switch the appliance off by turning the selector to its ‘0’ position. Wait until the mixer has stopped completely before removing the jug.
- This appliance will not start if the jug is not positioned properly on the motor base (G). NOTE: Do not use the appliance for more than three minutes at a time, since this may overheat the motor. For every three minutes of use, you should switch the appliance off for five minutes.
- For optimum results, it is best to mix small rather than large quantities of food, especially when the item in question is very thick or heavy.
- Remove the measurer from the lid (A) to add ingredients to the jug while the motor is running.
- To avoid spillage, it is best to insert a small quantity of food into the jug through the lid opening, and then top up little by little as the food is mixed.
- It is best to place liquid ingredients into the jug before solid ones. The liquid helps to mix the items more quickly and at a lower speed. Always add a cup of liquid when mixing ice.
- Mix the ingredients for short times only (between 5 and 30 seconds). Then check the consistency and continue processing until you obtain the consistency you require.
- If the consistency you require is not obtained rapidly, stop the appliance by turning the selector to ‘0’ and: – Turn the selector to the ‘M’ position a few times in a row – Remove the jug lid and mix the food items using a spatula, or – Reduce the quantity of food to be mixed.
- Solid ingredients should be chopped into small pieces (approx. 1 cm).
- All fruit should be peeled and chopped and all stones, pips, etc. removed before
being placed in the jug.
- Some vegetables, such as tomatoes, should also be peeled and chopped before being processed.
- When mixing hot food, remove the measurer from the lid.
It is easier to clean the mixer immediately after use.
- Pour warm soapy water into the jug and switch the mixer on for a few seconds.
- Turn the selector to the ‘0’ position and unplug from the mains.
- Next, rinse the jug with clean water and take it apart. If you want, you can detach the jug from the base (F) by holding the jug in one hand and turning the base in the opposite direction.
- Clean all the removable components in warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
- Do not put the blades (E) or the motor base into the dishwasher.
- The motor base can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive detergents or solvents.
- Do not submerge the motor base in water or any other liquid, or hold it under a running tap.
