USER MANUAL HTD 3239 CLATRONIC
General Safety Instructions Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fi t for commer- cial use. Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
- When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
- Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the device off. Remove the plug from the socket.
- The device and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the device must not be used.
- Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualifi ed person and with a cable of the same type.
- Use only original spare parts.

- In order to ensure your children‘s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach. WARNING! Caution! Do not allow small children to play with the foil as there is a danger of suffocation!
- This device is not intended to be used by individuals (includ- ing children) who have restricted physical, sensory or mental abilities and/or insuffi cient knowledge and/or experience, un- less they are supervised by an individual who is responsible for their safety or have received instructions on how to use the device.

- The nozzles become hot during operation.
- If the hair dryer is used in the bathroom, remove the mains plug after use as water represents a hazard. This also applies when the hair dryer is switched off.
- Please ensure that the inlet grille remains free of fl uff and hairs. Danger of fi re! As additional protection we recommend the installation of a fault current protection device (RCD) with a rated current of not more than 30 mA in the wiring system of the bathroom. Please contact an authorised electrician for advice. Commissioning
- You can dry single hair locks by concentrating the fl ow of hot air with the hairdressing nozzle.
- The diffuser is the ideal solution to dry curly hair without losing volume.
- In order to replace the attachment, fi rst remove the old attachment by pulling it off and then pushing on the new one until it clicks into place. Electrical Connection
1. Before inserting the plug into the socket. Make sure that the
mains voltage to be used matches that of the device. You can fi nd this information on the nameplate.
2. Connect the device to a duly installed 230 V/50 Hz protec-
tive contact socket. Use Turn the device on by the toggle switch. NOTE:
- The device always starts with cold air on the lowest blower level.
- The functions that are switched on are shown in the display and by the control lamps.
- Press button 12 to switch between cold and hot air.
- With button 13 you can switch ionisation on and off.
- With button 14 you can increase the blower level.
- By pressing button 15 you can select a heating level in conjunction with the blower level that has been set. Cold Function (COOL SHOT)
- When the dryer is set to cold you can increase the blower levels and switch ionisation on and off.
- The lowest blower level follows after the highest one. Heating Function
- The heating level can be selected according to the blower level. Examples:
- At the lowest blower level only the lowest heating level can be switched on in order not to overheat the device.
- If you would like to reduce the blower on a high heating level, it is fi rst necessary to reduce the heating level.
- The ionisation function can be switched on and off at any time. Ionisation function – Reducing electrically charged hair The device is also fi tted with an ioniser which gives off negative ions together with the air that is emitted. This process helps to protect the hair when it is being dried while simultaneously help- ing to improve hair structure, increase the volume of the hair, produce a silky sheen and also reduce the static charge of the hair. This process is particularly gentle for stressed hair. Switch-off
- Turn the device off with the toggle switch and remove the mains plug from the socket.
- Leave the device to cool before putting it away!
- Hang the device up by the suspension eye. Mains Cable
- The mains cable should only be wound up loosely.
- Never tie the cable tightly round the device, as over time this may result in the cable breaking.
- Check the mains cable regularly for damage. Cleaning and care
- Before cleaning remove the mains lead from the socket.
- Under no circumstances should you immerse the device in water for cleaning purposes. Otherwise this might result in an electric shock or fi re. CAUTION:
- Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.
- Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents. Clean the housing with a soft, dry cloth without additives. Air Intake Grill Please clean the grill on the air intake side of the hairdryer regularly in order to avoid excessive temperatures as a result of heat accumulation.
- Press on the mark above the air suction grille with your thumb in order to fold it open.
- Remove any dirt that is present.
- If necessary, a fi ne brush can be used.
