Frequently Asked Questions - KM 3921 SEVERIN

How to use the KM 3921 slicer?
Cut food into pieces of max 15 cm with a flat side. Place the container under the chute. Install the gear, choose the blade (spaghetti 5 mm or tagliatelle 9 mm) and lock the chute. Attach the food to the pusher, insert it into the chute, turn on the appliance and gently push the pusher without forcing.
What to do if the appliance does not start?
Check that the plug is properly inserted and that the feed chute is correctly locked (turn until it clicks). If the problem persists, contact customer service.
What foods can I use?
The appliance is designed for raw vegetables in stick form such as carrots, cucumbers, potatoes, courgettes, parsnips, radishes, beetroot and sweet potatoes. Do not use nuts or ice cubes.
How to clean the slicer?
Always unplug the appliance. Detachable parts (chute, pusher, blades, gear, container) can be washed in warm soapy water or in the dishwasher. Use the brush provided for the blades. The housing is cleaned with a damp cloth, never immerse it.
Are the blades replaceable?
Yes, the blades are interchangeable. Replace them as soon as spirals become irregular or imperfect. Contact SEVERIN customer service for replacement blades.
Why are the spirals irregular?
This could be due to improper attachment of food to the pusher, excessive pressure, food that is too soft, blunt blades or pieces that are too thin. Adjust preparation or replace blades.
How long can I use the appliance continuously?
The appliance operates intermittently: maximum 10 minutes of continuous use, then 30 minutes of mandatory cooling before reuse.
The appliance stops by itself, what should I do?
This could be due to unsuitable food or overload. Turn off the appliance, unplug it, remove the food and use smaller pieces or firmer food.
Can I wash the blades in the dishwasher?
Yes, the blades and all detachable parts are dishwasher-safe. However, use the brush provided to handle them safely to avoid cuts.
Where to find customer service contact details?
Complete contact details (phone and email) can be found in the appendix of the user manual. For France, you can contact SEVERIN after-sales service.
