When passing on the appliance, enclose these instructions. If the instructions for correct use of the appliance are not observed, the manufacturer’s liability for any resulting damage will be excluded. This appliance is intended for domestic use and the household environment only. Use the appliance only for processing normal amounts of food and for normal amounts of time for domestic use. The appliance is only suitable for cutting up or mixing food. It must not be used for processing other substances or objects. Use the appliance only with genuine parts and accessories. This appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are given supervision or instruction concerning safe use of the appliance and if they understand the hazards involved. Keep children away from the appliance and connecting cable and do not allow them to use the appliance. Do not let children play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children. Safety information W Warning Risk of electric shock and fire Only use the appliance indoors at room temperature and up to 2000 m above sea level. Connect and operate the appliance only in accordance with the specifications on the rating plate. Do not use the appliance if the power cord or appliance are damaged. Only our customer service may repair the appliance, e.g. by replacing a damaged power cord, in order to avoid hazards. Never connect the appliance to timer switches or remote-controllable sockets. Never leave the appliance unattended while it is switched on! We recommend that the appliance is never switched on for longer than necessary to process the ingredients. Do not place the appliance on or near hot surfaces, e.g. hobs. The power cord must not come into contact with hot parts or be pulled across sharp edges. Never immerse the base unit in water or place it in the dishwasher. Do not use the appliance with damp hands and do not operate at no load. Do not immerse the appliance in the ingredients above the connection point of the blender foot and base unit.

The appliance must always be disconnected from the mains after each use, whenever it is unsupervised, prior to assembly, disassembly or cleaning and in the event of an error. W Warning Risk of injury Care should be taken when handling sharp cutting blades and emptying the bowl as well as during cleaning. Prior to replacing accessories or additional parts that are moved during operation, the appliance must be switched off and disconnected from the mains. Do not attach or remove accessories until the appliance is at a standstill. Never grip the blade in the blender foot. Never clean the blade in the blender foot with bare hands. Use a brush. Never reach into the feed chute. Only use the pusher provided! Do not touch the sharp edges of the universal blade with bare hands. To insert and remove the universal blade, grasp by the plastic only. Clean with a brush. Never grasp the sharp blades or edges of the cutter inserts. Take hold of them by the edge only. Note the shape and position when inserting into the carrier disc. Clean with a brush. Take hold of the carrier disc by the designated recessed grips only. The accessory must be completely assembled before use. When working with the multifunction accessory, the base unit should be switched on only when the gear attachment has been fitted and is screwed on tight. W Warning Risk of scalding Take care when processing hot food. Hot food may splash during processing. Never place the blender foot on hot surfaces or use in very hot food. Leave boiling food to cool down to 80 °C or less before processing. Before using the hand blender in a cooking pot, take the pot off the hotplate. W Warning Risk of suffocation Do not allow children to play with the packaging material. W Important! The blender jug is not suitable for use in the microwave. Never insert the whisk into the base unit without the gear attachment. Never immerse the gear attachment in liquids and do not clean under running water or in the dishwasher. The bowl of the multifunction accessory is not microwave-safe. Never immerse the lid with gears in liquids or hold under running water and do not clean in the dishwasher. Check that there are no foreign objects in the feed chute or in the bowl.

Safety information Do not insert objects (e.g. knives, spoons) in the feed chute in or the bowl. Never work with the hand blender/blender foot in the bowl of the multifunction accessory. Contents Fig. A Base unit Power cord Speed control Operating speed can be adjusted continuously between the lowest (●) and highest (12) speed (only in conjunction with button 4a). On button The hand blender remains switched on as long as an On button (a or b) is pressed. a Adjustable speed (with speed control 3) b Turbo speed Used for processing food at maximum speed. The speed setting does not affect use of the Turbo button.

Release buttons To remove the blender foot, press both release buttons at the same time. 6 Blender foot Attach the blender foot and lock into position. 7 Blender blade 8 Blender jug Using the blender jug will prevent ingredients from splashing. 9 Lid Place the lid on the blender jug to keep processed ingredients in it. If the universal cutter is not included with the hand blender, it can be ordered from customer service (order no. 12027758). Operation Warning! The bottom of the receptacle used must not have any bumps or steps in it. ■ Clean all parts before using for the first time. Operation

Blender foot The blender foot is suitable for blending mayonnaise, sauces, mixed drinks, baby food, cooked fruit and vegetables. For puréeing soups. We recommend you use the blender jug provided. Other suitable receptacles can however also be used. X Fig. B ■ Completely unwind the power cable. ■ Place the blender foot on the base unit and lock into position. ■ Insert the mains plug. ■ Place the food in the blender jug or another tall receptacle. The appliance works better if there is some liquid in the ingredients. ■ Set the required speed with the speed control (Fig. B-5). When mixing liquids and hot food and when mixing in (e.g. muesli into yoghurt), it is recommended using a low speed setting. The high speed settings are recommended for processing more solid foods. ■ Hold the hand blender and jug firmly. ■ Switch on the hand blender by pressing the required On button. When switching on the hand blender, hold it at a slight angle to prevent it from "sticking" to the bottom of the blender jug. The hand blender remains switched on as long as the On button is pressed. To prevent ingredients from splashing, do not press the On button until the blender foot has been immersed in the ingredients. Always switch off the hand blender before taking it out of the ingredients. ■ Release the On button after processing. After using the appliance: ■ Disconnect the mains plug. ■ Press the release buttons and remove the blender foot from the base unit. Whisk For whipping cream, beating egg whites and milk froth from hot milk (max. 70 °C) and cold milk (max. 8 °C) as well as for making sauces and desserts. W Risk of scalding! When processing hot milk, use a tall, narrow receptacle for blending. Hot milk may splash and scald you. X Fig. C ■ Put the food in the blender jug. ■ Place the gear attachment on the base unit and lock into position. ■ Insert the whisk into the gear attachment and lock into position. Warning! Never insert the whisk into the base unit without the gear attachment. X Fig. C-3 ■ Insert the mains plug. ■ Set the required speed using the speed control (recommendation: high setting). ■ Grip the base unit and blender jug and press the required On button. ■ Release the On button after processing. After using the appliance: ■ Disconnect the mains plug. ■ Hold down both release buttons and remove the whisk with the gear attachment from the base unit. ■ Remove the whisk from the gear attachment. Multifunction accessory The multifunction accessory is suitable for cutting and shredding food. W Risk of injury from sharp blades/ rotating drive! Never reach into the bowl while the appliance is operating. Always use the pusher to add ingredients. After switching off, the drive continues running for a short time. Change tools only when the drive is at a standstill. When working with the multifunction accessory, the base unit may only be switched on when the lid has been fitted and screwed on tight. Warning! Multifunction accessory must be completely assembled before use!

Operation Caution! Before cutting up meat, remove gristle, bones and sinews. The multifunction accessory is not suitable for cutting up very hard food (coffee beans, radishes, nutmeg) or frozen food (fruit, etc.). Warning! Always observe the maximum quantities and processing times in the table. X Fig. G After each operation cycle allow the appliance to cool down to room temperature. Universal blade For cutting up meat, hard cheese, onions, herbs, garlic, fruit, vegetables, nuts and almonds. W Risk of injury from sharp blade! Do not touch the sharp edges of the universal blade with bare hands. Take hold of the universal blade by the plastic handle only. Clean with a brush. X Fig. D ■ Place bowl on a smooth and clean work surface. ■ Insert universal blade. ■ Add food. Warning! Universal blade must be positioned upright in the bowl so that the lid fits correctly (Fig. D-3). ■ Place the lid on the bowl and turn all the way anticlockwise. Note: If fitting the lid is a bit stiff, turn the three-piece coupling on the underside of the attachment slightly and try again. ■ Place the base unit on the attachment and lock into position. ■ Insert the pusher. ■ Insert the mains plug. ■ Hold the base unit and multifunction accessory firmly and switch on the appliance (turbo setting). ■ To add more ingredients, release the On button. Wait until the tool comes to a standstill. ■ Remove the pusher and add ingredients through the filling opening. ■ Release the On button after processing.

After using the appliance: ■ Disconnect the mains plug. ■ Press the release buttons and remove the base unit from the attachment. ■ Turn lid clockwise and remove from the bowl. ■ Take hold of the universal blade by the plastic handle and remove. Carrier disc with disc inserts Slicing insert – coarse Set speed control to low speed to slice: cucumbers, carrots and potatoes. Slicing insert – fine Set speed control to low speed to slice: cucumbers, carrots, beetroot and courgettes. Shredding insert – medium Set speed control to high speed to shred: apples, carrots, cheese and white cabbage. Grating disc insert – coarse Set speed control to high speed to grate: potatoes for dumplings and potato pancakes; fruit and vegetables for salads. It must not be used for grating carrots. Caution! The disc inserts must not be used for cutting up very hard foods (Parmesan cheese, chocolate). The disc inserts are only suitable to a limited extent for processing fibrous foods (leek, celery and rhubarb). W Risk of injury from sharp blade! Exercise particular caution when handling the inserts! Note the shape and position of the insert when inserting into the carrier disc. Take hold of the carrier disc by the designated recessed grips only. Do not reach into the filling opening. Only use the pusher when adding more ingredients. X Fig. E ■ Place the bowl on a smooth and clean work surface. ■ Put the required insert into the carrier disc. Note the shape and position (Fig. E-1)! ■ Take hold of carrier disc by the recessed grips and insert into the bowl. Cleaning ■ Place the lid on the bowl and turn all the way anticlockwise. ■ Place the base unit on the attachment and lock into position. ■ Insert the mains plug. ■ Set required speed using the speed control. ■ Hold the base unit and multifunction accessory firmly and switch the appliance on. ■ Add the ingredients for slicing or shredding through the filling opening. ■ When pushing down ingredients for slicing or shredding, only apply light pressure to the pusher. Warning! Empty the bowl before it becomes so full that the ingredients for slicing or shredding reach the carrier disc. ■ Release the On button after processing. After using the appliance: ■ Disconnect the mains plug. ■ Press the release buttons and remove the base unit from the attachment. ■ Turn lid clockwise and remove from the bowl. ■ Grip the carrier disc by the recessed grips and lift out of the bowl. ■ Turn the carrier disc over and carefully press out the insert from the underside (Fig. F). Cleaning ■ Disconnect the mains plug. ■ Wipe the base unit with a damp cloth and then rub dry. ■ The blender jug can be cleaned in the dishwasher. ■ Clean the blender foot in the dishwasher or with a brush under running water. ■ Dry the blender foot in an upright position (blender blade face up) so that any trapped water can run out. Whisk Warning! Never immerse the gear attachment in liquids and do not clean under running water or in the dishwasher. ■ The whisk can be cleaned in the dishwasher. ■ Wipe the gear attachment with a damp cloth only. Multifunction accessory Warning! Never immerse the lid of the multifunction accessory in liquids and do not clean in the dishwasher. ■ Wipe the lid with a damp cloth only or rinse briefly under running water. ■ The bowl, universal blade, carrier discs and disc inserts are dishwasher-safe. ■ Do not wedge plastic parts in the dishwasher as they could become deformed. Recipes and tips Recipes and tips Mayonnaise Tool: blender foot – 1 egg (egg yolk and white) – 1 tbsp mustard – 1 tbsp lemon juice or vinegar – 200-250 ml oil – Salt and pepper to taste Ingredients must all be at the same temperature! ■ Put the ingredients in the jug. ■ Place the hand blender on the bottom of the jug and blend the ingredients (turbo setting) until the mixture emulsifies. ■ Slowly lift the switched-on blender as far as the upper edge of the mixture and lower again until the mayonnaise is ready. Tip: According to this recipe, you can also make mayonnaise with egg yolk only. However, then only use half the amount of oil. Vegetable soup Tool: blender foot – 300 g potatoes – 200 g carrots – 1 small stick of celery – 2 tomatoes – 1 onion – 50 g butter – 2 l water – Salt and pepper to taste ■ Skin and de-seed the tomatoes. ■ Clean, wash and chop the vegetables and sauté in hot butter. ■ Add water and salt. ■ Leave to cook for 20-25 min. ■ Take the pot off the cooker. ■ Purée the soup in the pot with the blender. ■ Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Tool: blender foot – 250 ml milk – 1 egg – 100 g flour – 25 g melted, cooled butter ■ Put all ingredients in the jug in the order indicated and blend into a smooth batter. Blended milk drinks Tool: blender foot – 1 glass of milk – 6 large strawberries or 10 raspberries or 1 banana (cut up into slices) ■ Put the ingredients in the jug and blend. ■ Add sugar to taste. Tip: For a milkshake, add a scoop of ice cream or use very cold milk. Potato patties Tool: Multifunction accessory (Grating disc insert) – 500 g potatoes – 1 large egg – 3 tbsp flour – Salt and pepper to taste ■ Peel the potatoes and grate them. ■ Then mix the potatoes, eggs, flour, salt and pepper. ■ If the mixture is too liquid, add some more flour. ■ Heat the oil in a pan, then take a large spoonful of the mixture and put into the oil and make patty shapes. Fry on both sides until golden. Disposal
