This car seat is installed by connecting the two ISOFIX connectors and webbing “TOP TETHER” in the anchorage ISOFIX points of the vehicle.

If in doubt, consult either the child restraint manufacturer or the retailer.

• All Maxi-Cosi products have been carefully designed and tested for your baby’s safety and comfort. Use only accessories sold or approved by Maxi-Cosi. Using other accessories may prove to be dangerous.

Do not make any changes to the car seat whatsoever, as this could lead to unsafe situations. The Titan car seat in the car: • Before buying this product make sure the car seat is compatible with the vehicle it is to be used in. • Universal ISOFIX in forward facing position, class size B1. See table for class size in every installation mode. • Before installing your child car seat with the ISOFIX anchorages system you must read the instruction manual of the vehicle. This manual will indicate the places compatibles with the class size of the car seats. • The Maxi-Cosi Titan has been approved in accordance with ECE R44/04 standards and is suitable for children from 9 to 36 kg • Make sure the fold-down rear seat is locked into position. • Make sure that any luggage and other objects liable to cause injuries in the event of a collision shall be properly secure.

• Always cover the Titan when exposed to direct sunlight in the car. Otherwise, the cover, metal and plastic parts could become too hot for your child’s skin. • Make sure the straps holding the carseat to the vehicle are tight.

WARNING: passenger airbag if your child is sitting in a front-facing position and place the passenger seat in the rearmost position.

Child in the Titan car seat :

• Never leave your child unattended. • For your own safety and the one of your child always put the child in the car seat and fasten him however short your journey may be. • For group 23 usage, use the Maxi-Cosi Titan only on a front-facing seat that is fitted with an automatic or static 3-point belt that has been approved according to the ECE R16 standard or similar. Do NOT use a 2-point belt. • After putting the child in the car seat, ensure that the harness is sufficiently tight by pulling the belt. Before every use, make sure the harness is not damaged or twisted. • Make sure you can fit no more than one finger between the harnesses and your child (1cm). If there is more space than 1 cm, tighten the harness belt further. • Check to make sure the headrest is adjusted to the proper height. • Do not use the child restraint device without the cover. Do not replace the seat cover with any other than the one recommended by the manufacturer, because it will have a direct effect on the functioning of the car seat. • The temperature inside a vehicle may become very high, particularly after a long period of exposure to the sun. It is strongly recommended, under such conditions, to cover the seat of the car with a piece of material or something equivalent to prevent the harness fixings, and in particular the metal parts, from becoming hot and burning the child.

• For group 1 usage in ISOFIX use the fitting clips for lower anchorage to the vehicle are not sufficient. It is essential to fix the “TOP TETHER” to the upper anchorage point recommended by the car manufacturer. • Fitting the Titan seat with additional tethers using the vehicle’s ISOFIX additional anchorage points. • The ISOFIX anchors have been developed to obtain a safe and easy fixation of the child safety systems inside the car. Not all cars are equipped with these anchors although they are standard on more recent models. Consult the attached list of cars for which the car seat can be installed correctly (you can also consult additional updates of this list on the website www.maxi-cosi. com). •In forward facing position, the seat must be placed on the car rear seat or exceptionally on the front seat in accordance with the legislation in force in the country of use (In France: in accordance with the conditions stipulated in decree n° 91-1321 du 27-12-1991). When installing the car seat for group 1 with ISOFIX, it is necessary to remove the headrest in order to put the TOP TETHER through correctly. Warning: when installing the car seat, spaces between the base of the car seat and the vehicle seat are possible depending on the position of the anchorage points within the vehicle. •Replace the Maxi-Cosi Titan when it has been subject of violent stresses in an accident: the safety of your child can no longer be guaranteed. • The user must always check that any luggage and other objects likely to cause injury to the occupant of the car seat in the case of impact are properly secured. •The rigid parts and the plastic sections of a child restraint device should be positioned and installed in such a way that they cannot, when the vehicle is being used under normal conditions, become trapped under a moving seat or in the vehicle door. • Always check that no part of the seat or the harness is trapped under a seat or in the vehicle door.

• Never modify the construction or the materials of the car seat and the seat belt without consulting the manufacturer. • Do not use the child restraint device without the cover. Do not replace the seat cover with a cover other than that recommended by the manufacturer, because it will have a direct effect on the functioning of the child restraint. • This child restraint is effective only if the instructions for use are respected. • Always fasten the child restraint even when the child is not sitting in it. • Never place heavy objects on the rear parcel shelf, to avoid the danger of projectiles in the event of an accident. • Folding seats must always be locked in place. • If in any doubt about the correct installation or use of the system, the user is advised to contact the distributor or the manufacturer of the child restraining device system.

CARE Keep the car seat clean. Do not use lubricants or aggressive cleaning agents.

Inlay: • The inlay included in your Titan seat plays an integral part in the efficiency of the restraint system for your child from 9-15kg, group 1. It can be removed and the cover taken off for washing, but it is essential to place it back again where it belongs and only use this official Maxi-Cosi Titan inlay. This inlay is exclusively for use with the Titan seat. Fabric: • The cover can be removed for washing. If the cover needs to be replaced at any time, only use official Maxi-Cosi cover because it constitutes an integral part of the restraint performance. • For safety reasons, shoulder pads are not removable. Clean it by using a damp cloth • Before cleaning check the label sewn into the various parts of the fabric, you will fi nd the washing symbols indicating the method of washing each item.

• Clean the shell using a damp cloth.

ENVIRONMENT Keep plastic covering away from children to avoid suffocation. For environmental reasons, when you have stopped using this product, we ask that you dispose of the product in the proper waste facilities in accordance with local legislation.

Our 24 months warranty does not apply to defects caused by normal wear and tear, damage which is the consequence of failing to comply with the user manual, damage caused by use with another product, damage caused by service by anyone who is not authorized by us, or if the prod been changed. Examples of normal wear and tear include wheels and fabric worn down by regular use and the natural breakdown of colors and materials due to normal aging of the product. What to do in case of defects: recognized by us. Our 24 months warranty is recognized by them(1). You must present your proof of purchase, made within the 24 months preceding the service request. It is easiest if you get your service request pre-approved by us. If you submit a valid claim under this warranty, we may request that you return your product to the authorized dealer or retailer recognized by us or that you ship the product to us in accordance with our instructions.
